The breakfast room was soul less. One or two half dead plants struggling with the heat. Two long higher shelves could house a variety of local potters work which would support local crafts people, bring colour into the room and space for pictures also. These could be sold on by you on a sale or return basis. Generally the interior design lacks imagination and originality for such a historic town as Salisbury.
Boring prints on the corridors and bedroom walls, suggest use local artists not mass produced prints. No cushions on the bed or chair, difficult to sit up on the bed to watch TV. Duvet to small for super king size bed. No lavatory brush in the bathroom or shower cap.
Birchell tea dispenser but no Birchell teas! Local English company, BA use them.

Great location and a short 7 min walk into Salisbury Parking was great and reasonably priced. The hotel has recently been upgraded. The rooms were beautiful decorated and very comfortable.
The breakfast were excellent and freshly cooked with a great selection of continental and cooked breakfast items.
All the staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Victoria was on duty in the restaurant for breakfast. She was excellent, running the restaurant efficiently and quickly, anticipating everyone’s needs with a smile. Victoria worked very hard and was a credit to your hotel.

The rooms have been refurbished and were very clean and fresh. Lovely decor. Bathroom had large walk in shower which was lovely.
Walls between rooms were thin could guests next door talking until very late. Did ruin stay and wouldn’t put us off staying here again.

Very close to city centre for walking in.
The hotel looks like it has been refurbished but there was only a wall electric heater in the room and there was not heat in the bathroom so the tiling never really dried nor did the mirrors defog even after a few hours.

Good location.
Breakfast was good.
Room was spacious and clean.
Room could have used a mini fridge. It was cold enough outside that we could leave water by the window!

Within walking distance of the centre of Salisbury. Excellent staff who were friendly and helpful. Very well appointed room. Wonderful breakfast,
We couldn't fault it and will be staying again

room was good size, comfortable but was given one pillow on a large double bed, also the duvet was quite thin and there was no extra blankets etc.
Room has been revamped and the shower come wet room leaves a bit top be desired as water spreads to all areas of the bathroom. Also the sink is very small the sort you would expect to find in a toilet only to wash your hands. Also it is fitted very low more for a young child than an adult. The room I had looked out on to a cluttered court yard and was not very pleasant.

Breakfast was comprehensive and covered all tastes. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Room was clean and shower worked well. Needed a bedside table. TV did not have remote on arrival. Couldn't find the UK channels on the TV - No instructions available. Could have done with a couple more pillows. But overall very comfortable, thank you.

Nice comfortable beds and airy room. The location was perfect and the staff were lovely and very helpful with our stay. Big thank you to the lovely Angie that kindly washed my windscreen ( birds had decide to decorate) to ensure a safe journey home . Thank you
Don’t agree with paying £10 a night car parking especially when you have the disabled room !

Maybe the kitchen could speed up a bit. Staff kept apologising to people

It’s a really quaint hotel which was close to the city centre which was where my event was based.
I thought that an overnight charge of £10 for parking was a bit steep, especially as the price of the room was high. I also did not welcome the 06:30 wake up call from the glass bin collection which woke me, I most definitely would be asking the local council to collect these bins at a much later time of the day to save this from happening to other guests.

Staff needed better training . Nice but poorly organised .
Food was very ordinary

The location was very good. A short walk to the city centre. The room was recently decorated and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was new and very smart. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant staff were excellent. Very friendly and attentive.
The one pack of plain biscuits in the room was a bit disappointing. It’s not a cheap hotel. The main problem was that it took at least ten minutes to get any hot water. I thought I was going to have to go without a shower as the water stayed cold for a very long time. Such a waste of water too.

Really trivial, I prefer a pillow with more support and substance

Really nice room, lots of space, very comfortable bed and lovely linen and bathroom. It was a nice hotel overall, good location for the town, walking distance etc
For the price, I would have expected a few little extras in the bedroom: mini fridge, loo brush, and a little bit more luxury. Overall the hotel lacked a bit of personality and comfort for the price. There was nothing that invited you in to use the hotel bar or restaurant, not sure where they are in terms of converting to an IHG hotel but I would have expected a bit more to try and give a good customer experience.
Breakfast was also a bit of a let down: quality was good but very little on offer and ran out quickly.. waited over 10 minutes for things to be replenished.. felt like little for the money we paid

The property is apparently undergoing refurbishment, which we were notified of before our stay. At which point I emailed them asking if it would impact our stay. We were assured it would not.
When we arrived, there was no obvious refurbishment work going on, which we were encouraged by. However, when we got to our room, it was very cold as the heating was not working. On contacting reception, we were told it was as a consequence of the refurbishment work! There was an electric portable heater provided, which did warm up the room . . . . and just kept warming it up as the thermostat didn't work. So there were two options - very cold or sauna. I'm uncertain whether our room had been refurbished - the decor looked reasonably fresh, but the room felt quite bare and unwelcoming. The furnishings certainly weren't new. They were dark and dated, and the wardrobe had definitely seen better days.
The next issue came when we went to dinner. The only vegetarian main course option on the menu was not available (the hotel was notified I was a vegetarian at the point of booking).
Things got considerably worse the following morning - there was no hot water (a cold shower in November in a bathroom with no heating is not fun!) the electricity was intermittent, no Internet (which meant the TV didn't work), and to top it off - no hot breakfast food available.
We had a family event during the day, and when we returned around 8pm, the only hot food available was soup. We ended up having a sandwich.
On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt quite sorry for them having to deal with all the issues guests were experiencing.
Also, the cost of food we had on the first night, plus the sandwich on the second evening, was removed from our bill. However, the cost of the room remained unchanged.
Overall, it was sadly not the experience we had hoped for.

Room was nice on second night. First night ruined the experience.
IHG should not book rooms out where maintenance/upgrade work has overrun and then only say room is not available when we arrived at 6pm. They must have know before that? We were then moved to an alternative which I did not book originally as it was rundown. Very disappointed with the alternative, as I suspected very shabby. We were told we could go back to booking.com for an alternative but as we were given no notice we had to take what the hotel offered. I would recommend they do not sell rooms they do not have. Offered a meal but we did not want that. Should have given us a night for free. Ruined my wife's birthday. You also advised of maintenance work after booking via a booking.com message. You should do that before the booking on the website. Will endeavour not to use IHG again where possible.

Loved the easiness of breakfast and the offer of poached eggs.
