I was very upset when a hotel staff member tried to enter our room without knocking the door. Luckily, the door chain was on, so she could not get in! I was shocked because I was asleep when this happened.
We later allowed her to enter as she said she needed to collect something from the deposit box. I am not sure what the hotel’s procedure is for entering a guest room, but for me this was unethical. Since then, I always keep the door chain on!
We reported this incident to reception but heard nothing afterward.

There was no lock on the washroom door, which affected privacy and convenience.
