As good as it gets, perfect location!

Loved the cosy and authentic vibe and atmosphere. The host/owner is a great and helpful man, had a little chat and he was passionate running this boutique hotel for 30 years now, congrats. No problems with our baby, we enjoyed our one day stay and breakfast was great.

Centrally located with the friendliest hosts

Boutique-Hotel Lohspeicher is nothing short of delightful. The location is great (3m walk from public parking by the water), and the rooms/beds are comfortable. Check-in/-out was pretty seamless, and the breakfast was very extensive (yet a bit on the pricier end). We received some great tips to discover fun bars and restaurants as well!

A heads up about the breakfast pricing prior to confirming would have been useful. Other than this, it would be handy to have more of a "hotel lobby" available for check ins (we arrived at 7:30pm and the check in time was advertised to be until 8:30pm -- the owner was kind enough to call and let us know we needed to be in touch, yet when we arrived we were able to enter through other guests as the owner -- very understandably -- had to attend to other matters).

The location was amazing and close to everything in town. The owner was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was good. Room was very nicely decorated.

When we arrived it took a while for someone to answer the door to let us in to check in.

Feels more like a private holiday rental than a hotel

The hotel is very centrally located and the room is spacious.

1. No dedicated reception. No one is there for check-ins. Most of the time, no one from the hotel is on-site for questions. 2. Basic rooms. Our comfort double has very basic decor and furnishing, more dated than shown in the pictures. Bathroom has no doors, divided only by a thin curtain. No toiletry provided, except a small piece of soap, which we had to ask for. 4. Not clean. Water glasses are dusty. Cups in Bathroom have toothpaste. Toilet not flushed. Small hair on bedsheet. 5. When mentioned above to owner, he shrugs off and disregard any complaints

It was OK'ish.

It was quite warm directly under the roof and it turned out two guests had not come though they had booked. Would have preferred one of these rooms on first floor which was much cooler. Opening two windows did not help much. Fortunately, it was not a hot night outside. Lots of noise in the middle of the night from guests in rooms next to ours. Then the church bells started at 8 ...

a wonderful stay in the centre of Cochem

I quite like the warm welcome of the host and very helpful (he assisted me from the minute I called asking for my parking until i got there!). He would also provide the city plan, a list of the best restaurants and activities to do. Rather than that the property is a lovely boutique Hotel nicely decorated and super clean. the room was a bit small but it was perfect for me as I was traveling alone.

Right in the middle of the city center, friendly, enthusiastic staff, great breakfast.

There's no parking at the hotel, but there is something close by. You need to drive to the hotel, once you come to a blocked street you need to call the hotel so they can clear the pole in the road for you. Minor inconvenience at most and that's only 'cause this wasn't clear to us

amazing location. Literally in centre. Walking distance to restaurants, pubs and shopping streets.. many hiking trails reachable within 20 min drive

The rooom was quite specious but missing the cozy decor. Some of the basic requirements such as jacket hooks were missing. the closet was there in bedroom but too small to hang jackets inside.

It was a fantastic stay and absolutely amazing couple running the business. We loved our visit!

First of all, the couple running the hotel is very sweet and accommodating. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Location was perfect as it was right in the square!! The breakfast was also very delicious.

Not that it is the hotel’s fault, but football was playing one night so the square was full of people partying past midnight yelling and screaming and honking their horns. As there is not any air conditioning in the room, we needed to keep the windows open all night to cool down but with the festivities, we had a hard time sleeping.

The room decor was very good and the bed was comfortable

Having read good reviews we booked this hotel for an overnight stay, check in time was after 4pm, we arrived around 4.30pm but there was no one on reception as it was now unmanned we did call the owner who informed us of what we needed to do, ie collect pre-prepared key, complete COVID form and place order for breakfast The reviews were very complimentary of the breakfast , we didn’t find the breakfast anything special and certainly wasn’t value for money We paid a very high cost but didn’t find it value for money at all, think we paid over the top because of its location rather than the hotel itself

Cramped and hard to find help

Rooms not too small

The hotel is not always staffed, they don’t always answer the phone. So if you are not 100% sure you’ll deal with everything that might happen in Cochem yourself, you should find a different place to stay. Arrived at about 1800 on a Thursday. No people there. Have to phone a number on the door to get help and get in. Staff did not turn up, instructed us on phone. Phoned again later when needed to get help to park the car. Not easy in those old cities. Lots of restrictions, and signs of course only in German. No answer, no callback, no answer to sms. Very glad parking was my problem, and that I speak some german. If problem was bigger, we’d be standing there alone. Will never again stay at a hotel where reception -or even phone- is not staffed to give you all the practical tips about the town and your stay, and to ensure safety. At least it should be staffed during the day. A much better choise for a stay would be one of the hotels with river views and even balconies. There are also plenty of hotels with nice places to eat and drink. We had to go elsewhere for our meal and drinks. At evening/night you can’t even get water to drink at the hotel. Cochem is so small that all hotels are central enough. Dragging luggage up narrow stairs to a claustrophobic hotel with a room with a view to neighbours’ wall and airconditioner, just to be in the city centre, is such a hassle with no real value to it. Car must be parked way off. We had number 9. Not recommended.

Feels more like a lovely family-owned bed & breakfast than a real hotel

Perfect location by the city's main square. Amazing historic building. Lovely staff, from the cleaning lady that used to play with our daughter, to the very friendly couple who runs the place. Breakfast very basic but totally fair with the low price.

We had a good experience in general, but the place feels more like a bed & breakfast than a real hotel, in the sense that you won't find some basic hotel services as permanent staff by the entrance, kitchen/room service or common areas to hangout (only a small outdoors courtyard). A negative note is that in the end we were charged 15 euros per day for having requested a crib for our baby. We've never seen this kind of fee in any hotel before, and it was a very simple collapsible crib.
