Cheap and centrally located

Tried to get through to anyone on the phone, from within the hotel or from outside, to sort a wifi issue. Tried for ages and countless attempts for an hour or so. Had to go to reception to finally talk to someone and got some snarky remark. After checkout, had to chase the receipt for three days, multiple phone calls and message. I didn't like all that

Ultra-comfy rooms, great location & amazing value for money make this Mannheim’s best hotel choice

Not only is this the most appealing Mannheim hotel option but the ideal choice of accommodation for a stay anywhere in Germany’s southwest. The value for money that this property offers is unbeatable: five-star quality at a mid-range price. I stayed here for three nights, and my room was cozy yet spacious, beautifully styled (with a uniquely appealing layout), comfortably carpeted (rather than floored with cold tile or hardwood), perfectly climate controlled, generously outfitted with tea-making facilities and a mini-fridge, and so altogether comfortable as to epitomize the German ideal of Gemütlichkeit. Large, openable windows running the length of the room admitted wonderful amounts of daylight and provided a gorgeous city view. The hotel’s location is ideal, situated as it is between the Hauptbahnhof, just a few hundred meters away — making it easy to catch early trains — and Mannheim’s top sights, such as the Wasserturm and the Kunsthalle. Breakfast, offered in a beautiful light-filled solarium, is both delicious and generous, offering Nürnberg-style Würstchen as well as bacon to accompany the scrambled eggs, and beyond that any other Frühstück choice that one could possibly desire. This was my second stay at this location (my first was in 2022), and of the 18 properties that I have patronized between those two trips, this hotel remains my absolute favourite; in fact, I liked it so much that it was the determining factor in my choice of Mannheim over any other southwest German city as a hub from which to explore the area this year. The staff allowed me an early check-in (a rare treat), granted my wish to use the same wonderful room that I enjoyed in 2022, and were the friendliest that I have encountered in any German hotel. If I could score the hotel an 11/10, I would.

The only possible upgrade that the Best Western Delta Park could make would be to introduce earlier breakfast times. The hotel’s very fine Frühstück is offered at 6:30 on weekdays, which is standard for German hotels (though some choice properties start at 6:00), but only from 7:00 on weekends. The latter turned out to be simply too late for me to catch a Sunday-morning train, and while the staff did kindly provide me with a “lunch box” that I was able to pick up from the front desk early enough to facilitate my weekend day trip, I would have much preferred to have enjoyed one of the hotel’s exceptionally fine full breakfasts. But the property’s numberless strengths more than make up for this one opportunity for improvement. I would have gladly stayed here longer and hope to return in the future.

An exceptionally clean and friendly hotel.

1 The staff were very helpful, multi lingual and had good humor. Every part of the hotel we saw was spotlessly clean. Room decor was beautiful, beds were comfortable, there were plenty of hot drinks choice/ kettle and the toiletries smelt amazing. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and well designed. The location an easy 10 minute walk from Manneheim hbf and bus/tram links. The free city guide was a bonus as i hadn't managed to buy one in advance. The garden was a lovely area to have a coffee or beer. We are planning another trip to Mannerheim just so we can stay in this hotel again 😁

There was one pillow and cushion on each bed but i could have done with an extra pillow. We didn't have breakfast at 20 euro pp it seemed very expensive but that may be the usual rate in Germany.

Convenient, comfortable.

The location is great. You can walk to the Main train station, and just take a speed train to the airport or anywhere else in Europe, and it's near the shopping area and restaurants. Also, near to the tram station where we could catch a tram to our convention venue at SAP Arena.

Nothing at all.

Nothing was actually good. They have no idea what customer service is. Their pillow sucks, it wasn't even clean. The telephone in the room doesnt work. The towel was on the bathroom floor when i arrived and the receptionists, they need to take a course in how to deal with customers. The wifi time expired one day before i was supposed to leave. How are they even thinking??
