Rude Staff combined with arrogance and incompetence

Location was great , and that’s about all this place has to offer at outrageous prices . Why do they have a perfume shop in the lobby and do they have stuffed teddy bears everywhere? Ps No porter to help with luggage or bar service for late arrivals after eleven Only two lifts for over a hundred rooms! Rooms facing the garden? There is no garden!! Unless you count a greened otherwise dull courtyard as a garden Not worth the money and best to be avoided

Great but book the restaurants in advance

Location and it’s the best hotel in Hamburg

Sorry to say but if you want to use the Restuarant’s and bars in the hotel you have to book way in advance. Lots of local people go there which is great but if the hotel is your home for a while you would eat in the Restuarant’s easily and also to try to get a table in the bar areas is almost impossible

Lovely hotel, definitely coming staying here again.

Beautiful building with history. The room felt spacious because of the ceiling high. The staff were all welcoming and very professional. One the staff (Tamara) heard we were celebrating 18 years as a couple, and made a small gesture as a surprise in our room. This small gesture is what’s separating excellent service from good service.

Our suite was gorgeous, the staff was amazing, and the whole stay made us feel like royalty.

The suite we were upgraded to (for free) was definitely the most beautiful hotel suite we have ever stayed in. And we travel a good deal. The room itself It was nicer than the over the water suite we stayed at in Bora Bora four years ago. The staff was so helpful and amazing, the breakfast was great. We kind of felt like royalty the whole time we were there.

The only drawback I can think of was that the shower was a bit dated and uncomfortable compared to the opulence of the rest of the bathroom and suite overall.

Great hotel in an outstanding location and wonderful staff and facilities

Loved the ambiance of the hotel … it felt like an old palace with beautiful decor and large sizes of the rooms and bathrooms … amazing in every way!

Hotel is Grand Dame of Hamburg located overlooking the lake and close to key sites.

Hotel location is perfect for exploring city. Property has lots of F&B outlets and staff were great.

Air-conditioning was not great and seemed to be set to turn off in the middle of the night.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, great spacious rooms, and very comfortable all in all. Had two connecting rooms with our three kids and we had everything we wanted. Would definitely stay here again next time!

Courtyard rooms have no view at all (wasn't a big deal for us as we were out and about all day anyway)

If you need bling bling go for it. If you look for a top, chill, hotel it’s wrong for you.

Location is nice but the Hotel itself is overhyped and overpriced for a "normal" Stay. If you need people to look at you then it’s maybe the right place. If you need boutiques in your hotel it’s right. Otherwise it is just over the top. Rooms are rather on the small side, comfort and bathrooms are ok but not exceptional. Balconies are ok but not mindblowing (for the price). There are definitely better hotels

Value for money is ridiculous. Balconies are shady, room service only serves until 9pm and both staff and guests are just off that planet.
