Mercure is a brand that lost its way: sad

I liked the EV charger in the parking

The room and overall design show that Mercure doesn’t know whether it wants to be an upcycled IBIS Basic or a wannabe mid level hotel. The bathroom had a fresh coat of paint over the existing tiles, but kept the ceiling tiles that are reminiscent of the worst seventies hotels.

Restaurant was disgraceful. Even the manager agreed and did not charge for the meal. Which was as it should be since it was inedible.

Spacious room but not much furniture to put anything if you stay more than couple of days.

Smelly carpet in the corridor. No lounge and guest often were sitting in the corridor next to the entrance in the evening. Outdoor area neglected. It’s maximum 3 stars hotel, like Ibis next door. Bath was dirty- see pictures We travelled with small dog and paid £15 for the night - no treats or extra blanket provided ( we do travel with all of that of course) but still for 4 stars there is expectation based on the stays in other 4 stars hotels on that trip

Great value and would highly recommend for a two three day stay.

Clean Large rooms with good air conditioning . Good breakfast and good parking ( for small and medium size cars) with free to use EV chargers on a first come first save basis. Friendly staff who made us welcome and sorted a couple of small quickly and efficiently. Location was easy walk to centre of town.

NIce room and a good breakfast. Location was an easy walk from the town centre. It was nice to be able to park in the underground garage.

Overnight stop in Rouen.

Close to main route through Rouen. Bar staff nice.

We stayed on a sunday. Rouen appeared closed. Nowhere ro eat in down so broke out the emergency pot noodle. Car park very difficult. I appreciate nothing can be done and I'm thankful I can drive well.

It’s ok but wouldn’t stay there again and I like Mercure

Location was ok to walk into the old town.

The access was not easy, I have a very big car and parking was very difficult. Getting to the hotel is tricky as you can miss the turning into the hotel as you think it’s the Ibis.

Staff not overly friendly. Parking a nightmare (the spaces so narrow), so not cater for vegans well at all. Rude when I wanted an iron. Rude when I told them they hadn’t given us a twin room.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location.

Convenient location right off major routes without being noisy. Our room was lovely with a view of a church in the distance and right near the park. Walking into downtown was only a few blocks away. Breakfast was superior. Had dinner there our first night and it was delicious! Parking was very accessible. Would prefer not to have to pay for parking, but you are in a city after all. Would stay here again if we were ever in this area again.

Really nice hotel in a great location, close to the historic city center. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. In the evening, we enjoyed a glass of wine with a cheese board and dessert - fantastic selection of cheeses! The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.

Parking is charged on an hourly basis, which wasn’t an issue for our short stay. However, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning to stay for a few nights. That said, the parking area is secure, so it might be worth the extra cost for the added peace of mind.

Lovely staff

All the members of staff were excellent, friendly and helpfull. It is not far from the centre, easily walkable. Good breakfast too.

I was not impressed with their bedding. Duvet did not fit it's cover and it was not pleasant to sleep under, and there was 1 thin pillow. We used the decorative pillows too but they were small squares so it did not really work.

Excellent value hotel in a good location

Our Premier room was large and very comfortable for our family of four. The room was clean and well appointed with Nespresso and a few free minibar items. The shower was powerful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant staff were lovely and able to assist us in English when needed. Good breakfast buffet. Excellent night stop off on our journey from the Vendée. The hotel is a short walk from the stunning historical centre of Rouen. We were able to park our large car featuring roof box and bike rack on the forecourt as it wouldn't fit in the underground garage.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They welcomed our group with warm smiles and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect. Just a short 10-minute walk away from the Notre Dame of Rouen Cathedral, we were able to explore the city's historical gems with ease. Additionally, the Jeanne d'Arc church was only 20 minutes away. The convenience and accessibility of these attractions truly enhanced our overall experience. We were delighted to find a clean and well-maintained environment. The attention to detail in terms of cleanliness was evident, and it immediately put us at ease. The shower provided a refreshing and invigorating experience, and we couldn't help but appreciate the thoughtfully provided shower gel. Despite being centrally located, the hotel managed to create a serene atmosphere that allowed us to recharge and get a good night's sleep. The curtains were effective in keeping the room dark, ensuring we woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

Bathroom had sewage issues, was run down and disjointed, its actually a combined IBIS and Mercure.
