The lovely peaceful location

The service in dining room on Thursday night 19th at 6.30 was a little slow as it appeared the lovely young lady was on her own for a while . However Friday night was excellent - service and food

Loved that the staff were extremely friendly. Sean and Elaine's son came over to us the next morning at breakfast to say hello. Really lovely guy. Facilities were great, even had an iron and ironing board in the bedroom..came in handy when husband had to iron his shirt again lol breakfast was lovely and had a great sleep. The only downside was the hallway was a bit too dark for my elderly mother when walking back to the bedroom, other than that everything was great and would stay here again. Rooms nice and spacious too.

We had a good stay overall for one night and the staff was very friendly.

A little more dated than compared to their pictures, though they were doing some painting when we were there. Carpet in room looked like it was not vacuumed.

I’d definitely recommend Hotel Woodstock. It’s a very comfortable welcoming hotel.

The staff were wonderful- very helpful and friendly. The room was very cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was spotless in the bathroom too. The restaurant is lovely and the service was excellent The breakfast had a great variety of food too.

I didn’t like the apple crumble dessert although the main meal was lovely. The foyer of the hotel is a great space and while the fire is very inviting I feel they could do a lot more to make it initially a more inviting and interesting place to greet guests. This is only a suggestion.

Exceptional Hotel

This is an outstanding hotel to stay at. Everything was exceptional, clean, staff superb, beds comfortable, beautiful open fire in the reception, health club with swimming, steam, sauna, was very much appreciated after a long day. The breakfast was superb too, hot plates, a very nice welcome from staff as you arrived for the buffet breakfast, hot drinks at your table when you came back with your food. The grounds are very tidy overlooking a golf course, there was no noise in the night. A very restful and respectable hotel, and would definitely book again. Even the owner of the hotel and spoke to us at the evening meal, exceptional.

The reception and bar staff where excellent. Often in other hotels they can be almost robotic but the staff I met were really friendly

The breakfast was a big let down. I wanted to have it in my room and it seems that you can't have tea or coffee provided if you choose that. That's a first for me. The bacon was over cooked. The only sliced pan was gluten free, which is good for celiac people but I'm not. The eggs were rubbery and the puddings burnt. I popped in 40 minutes before closing, maybe that's too late for this hotel. At 15 euros I felt that the quality was well below what I'm used to getting in other hotels.

Family run hotel felt welcoming from the first minute.

The staff were all very welcoming and made you feel right at home. My daughters used the gym and said it was well supplied. We had dinner in the bar and the feathered beef was delicious not to mention the apple crumble for desert yum. There was a lovely atmosphere with a trad group playing after dinner. Breakfast was lovely too with everything so fresh. I drive an electric car and it was amazing to have a charging point available in the hotel.

Something small there were no small plates or bowls out at the breakfast station. But nothing that wasnt solved by asking the staff.

Great hotel, breakfast disappointing.

Overall I thought it was great value on the room. Room was incredibly comfortable, some hotels can have the rooms boiling hot for no reason with no way to regulate it so it was a very comfortable experience. Front desk were incredibly helpful.

Paid for breakfast and it was a bit of an odd one. There was no real flow to the setup and was difficult to find plates and bowls on the morning. There was hot food available but looked far from reasonably fresh which was a turn off. It was a bit lacklustre and the coffee was dreadful, it was a shame to call it coffee. I don't tend to include breakfast with my hotel stays as I'm typically having to leave early so it was just a little disappointing that the one time I did, it wasn't really of a great standard. It wouldn't stop me from coming back to the hotel but it would discourage me from opting to use the restaurant.

A very relaxed stay

Very nice staff; the hotel is boutique; super clean. The swimming pool was a big bonus for kids. The food in the restaurant was super delicious. Overall a very relaxed stay.

Fantastic value last minute booking

Powerful shower, good amount of large towels, clean throughout and excellent facilities. Two people had fun in the room by the look of the photo below.😄

Top Quality Service An amazing stay due to the exceptional employees and the hotel was 5*!

Eimear at front of house was amazing. Very polite, welcoming and always eager to help with any queries. Eimear should be put forward for a hospitality award - for best customer service or best front of house etc. A young employee named Ryan was extremely helpful with my luggage, room service and he is a breath of fresh air. Jeff and Kev in the bar are super! Both are friendly, approachable and great at their jobs. The chef Ger was top class. The food was delicious, especially the fish and chips I had on my first night there. I met the owners briefly and they were polite and I watched as they were advising and helping their employees. Overall amazing experience!

Family Stay at Halloween

The staff were professional and friendly. The food in the bar was really nice. Service very good in the bar. Check in smooth, lovely friendly staff at Check in desk. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Good shower. Lovely spacious lobby with open fire. Best kids club we've come across, simple but our girls loved it and plenty of time for kids to play. Lovely swimming pool. Love what they have done with the dining room.

The service at Breakfast very poor. No plates, waiting for bits of food to be topped up. Had to go looking for cutlery etc. Breakfast itself was fine except would prefer bigger pot of tea and coffee and coffee to me was way too strong.
