Good

It was a large hotel and full of people even at this time of year, which I particularly liked. Liked sports bar, must be good for big matches. Room was well set out, modern bathroom.

Bed was comfortable, but maybe too small, I'm 6foot and feet still over hung slightly.

Room was great .bathroom amazing and spotless.

Die to torrential rain there were leaking ceilings in hallway and buckets placed underneath . Was potential trip hazard as hotel was full of older folks due to Turkey tinsell time.

Great value for money

Breakfast is very good. Room clean, large shower room, friendly staff. Lovely entertainment room.

There were some buckets in the old hallways to catch leaks, however this did not affect us as we were in the new build area of the hotel, which is very smart.

We would stay again - reminded us of Fawlty Towers!

The location was great - just a short walk to the seafront. The hotel had entertainment every night. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast had a good selection.

We didn’t like the extortionate cost to park on top of the cost to stay (I think we were charged this as we booked through Booking.com and not their website). The hotel was mainly aimed at older people and coach trips (mobility scooters and stairlifts everywhere). All but one member of staff appeared miserable. Our room was near the tennis club and we were woken every morning by them playing. The pool was cold. Everywhere was a bit dated and rough around the edges. Rooms are not cleaned daily and supplies ran low.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. A lovely weekend break with lots of fun.

A very friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable throughout. Entertainment was excellent. Restaurant staff were first class, always clearing the table of any used dishes but only when they knew you had finished with them. They were polite and worked very hard and were very helpful and always had a smile on their faces. Nothing was too much trouble for them .

The only problem I experienced was the noise from the reception staff when they changed shifts. My room was above them and was woken up at 6.30 each morning with them talking. I complained the first morning and they apologised but they did it again the next morning. Its a shame there wasn’t much choice for vegetarians for the main meal.

I certainly wouldn't stay here again

Bar on site which the barman put the football game on for me which I wanted to see and I appreciated. The staff were very good and very helpful.

I'm sure in a previous life my room was a broom cupboard. It was right above reception and extremely noisy. I could hear staff and guests talking keeping me awake. Cleaners hoovering at 6.40am waking me up early. Every time someone in the room above moved I could hear them with the creaky floorboards, when they used the bathroom I could hear them. The bar prices were ridiculously expensive and were charging over £1 per int compared to what I pay at home and real ale not on hand pump as it should be served.

Enjoyable apart from interrupted sleep.

Good breakfast and hotel in an ideal position for getting into the town, a 10 minute walk.

The restaurant was very busy and crowded because of the Elvis weekend. The room above us had a creaky floor, it sounded like people were walking around all night.

Nice surprise. Great hotel

The room was comfy for a one night stay. Just what we needed . The bed was nicely made by the chamber staff. The shower was great . Was impressed by breakfast this time . As we stayed before and it wasnt that good. Totally surprised us. Well done chef

Need to ask for a room nearer to reception next time as my hubby couldn't walk all the stairs to our room .

No WiFi in the rooms!

The lady on reception (Saturday evening 27th September) was extremely kind and professional, and she truly deserves special recognition. She answered all my questions with patience and courtesy, even when I was frustrated about the lack of Wi-Fi in the room and the impossibility of being moved to another room with a better connection. Her service was definitely a redeeming feature of my stay.

I was disappointed to find that there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. What made things worse is that I couldn’t even access mobile data on my phone inside the room. When I asked at reception, I was told the website claims there is "limited Wi-Fi", but on Booking.com the listing says “free Wi-Fi” twice, and states “Free WiFi is provided in public areas.” They really ought to clarify what “public areas” means. Apparently it refers to reception ONLY, and even there the connection is poor. If you plan to work remotely, do not stay here. You’ll have no reliable internet. The Wi-Fi in the reception area is weak, and with loud music and lots of people around, working becomes impossible. Although the hotel is cheaper than others nearby, I found it very old and outdated. The furniture, carpet, etc., are in need of replacement. Overall, it felt too expensive for what it actually offers.

Frontline staff were great and so helpful, along with restaurant staff, and room service personnel. Go and enjoy.

Could of been better

The room was great but it was by the main entrance so when anyone came in it would bang shut then our room door would shudder and through the night kept waking us up did not complain as only there for 2 nights but won't stay there again

Nice location. The rooms were very clean.

The hotel is very outdated and in desperate need of an upgrade. The dining area and the breakfast needs a revamp. The breakfast was not appealing. There was not a lot of variety and no finess. I booked because of the reviews and pictures. However, I now know that most of the pictures on their site are of the new building.

Very outdated, we had room that was not refurbished for many decades by the look of wallpaper, paint, and bathroom tiles. One of the electric sockets was not working. Massive stain mark on the sealing. Breakfast very poor too.

Pool fantastic best thing in hotel.and the Sports bar, brilliant bar not much variety of food. Only panini pizza and chips. Luck of draw if any left.

Only stayed 1 night. Not the best stay as the room has so hot overnight

The location was fairly good

No lift to the rooms, hard to carry all the luggage . The family room was incredibly hot. Very difficult to sleep in . My 3 children had a very bad nights sleep due to the heat and noise of the traffic. Hotel did provide 2 fans but they hardly worked.

The best part of my stay was checking out

Room was in extremely poor condition with wallpaper and ceiling paper peeling off. What looked like evidence of a water leak on ceiling and wall in bedroom, carpet heavily stained and torn, bathroom tiles cracked and poorly repaired leak to bathroom ceiling. Bathroom door lock missing The whole room/bathroom looked like it hadn't been decorated in years. Breakfast was like feeding time at the zoo. Far too many tables crammed into the dining area, food poorly presented, unmotivated and disinterested waiting staff.

Friendly staff & clean hotel

Staff were friendly & super helpful. Shame the hot tubs were not available for our stay however we made use of the pool which was warm & good size. Rooms are standard BUT CLEAN. Overall a great stay & would definitely stay there again. Beautiful show room & fantastic sports bar area with 20+ TVs. ( pillows are super comfy)

Rude staff, spent an extra £10 to stay in a refurbished room, the ceiling was peeling, ripped wallpaper and marks and dents all over, when complained told nothing could be done, plus no mention of payment for parking when booked through booking.com which was another £9
