A pleasant place near a lovely walking path next to the lake

Disappointing experience in a beautiful setting!

An absolutely stunning location. A short 30-45min walk outside of the city/village. Beautiful setting!

One can only imagine how much money was invested in the property, but the potential of it is not being used. Hiding behind staffing problems, no care is being taken of the gardens, terraces and children’s playground as examples. The restaurant is closed. Breakfast is self-service with the charm of a third class canteen. Offers are just ok - certainly not anything good and price worthy. Rooms are nicely decorated though no fridge, no aircondition and zero chance to get a drink after 5pm (when the reception closes). Some issues with floor ledges, doors etc that would require instant housekeeping attention but little interest was shown when mentioning those. The vending machine in the corridor offers a few sweets. No beer or anything you might long for after a long day on your feet. The complete - very nice - property is managed to press the maximum revenue out with the least imaginable investment. Probably a great place before Coronavirus but now managed in a way to barely survive. Very sad show! It will probably close down soon if things don’t change dramatically. But I sincerely hope things will improve as it is a great place!

The hotel has no lift at all! Very difficult for persons with bad knees! They didi not serve dinner in the hotel.

Overpriced, terribly uncomfortable and unpractical.

Severely overpriced for what you get. I don't think I have ever slept so uncomfortable. The pillows are worn-out fluff in a pillow case. There's no walking trails on the property, you have to drive out for this. The cafe doors are heavy and impractical to open when you are doing a buffet and have no hands (every.single.time) . Theres no escalator, or if there was, its not visible. So you have to carry kids and heavy bags on flights and flights of stairs. There's no curtains, only blinds, so the room doesn't get dark. In summer this is completely unpractical and does not support a good rest.

Nice location just off the main road. Open park-like setting for walking pet, and great lake access. Nordic design features in room an added touch. Nice to know that breakfast is also available. Would stay for more than one night next time.

Exceptional

Facilities and room were in great and cosy condition. Breakfast was awesome with lots of dishes to choose from. The property is located very close to nature and hiking trails, but the old town of Plön is still easy to reach by walking, which is especially very nice if you choose to do a little detour and walk along the lake.

We came from Denmark over the Island Fehmarn, met relatives in Germany, Plön was the perfect stop.

It was a good location. Wished we could have stayed longer but we did not have the time.

I rented two rooms. We were given them in different areas: one was large, the other was small. Same price for each room. It was not fair.

Great great great if you are travelling wth a big dog.

Everything! Arriving with a big Labrador after 5 hrs in the car this was the dream hotel. Outdoor fields for our dog to run and roam, lovely lake for human and doggy swims together (at the bottom of the field away from the hotel is a small secluded beach - perfect!). Dinner in restau was simple but so good. Wine list was great. Breakfast was faultless. A place I know we will come back to.

A fridge in our own bedroom but this is me being picky. We had a fridge on the landing shared with the room next door. An English menu would have been a bonus, but hey, we were in Germany so fair play.

Pleasant

The room was tidy and modern. The location is good as it is situated between the two lakes.

Eventhough we have communicated that we wished a quiet room, it was not allocated for us. When we asked the staff upon the check-in, she apologised and gave the reason that the room to the garden is categotised at higher price which this should be fine for us, if we have known beforehand. So on that day there was no possibility to upgrade anymore as the hotel was fully booked. So we wish that the communication should have been better if the guests expressed a wish.

Stylish hotel on main road, surrounding area very nice

Lovely location by lake and great outdoor seating area but front of hotel very close to busy road. Room smart, modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice, supper had limited choice probably because there were only a few guests staying. We used the hotel as a stopover on the way to catch a ferry in Kiel, it was an easy 30 mins drive the next morning.

The windows in our room were facing the road but had excellent double glazing which blocked out the road noise. It did however get very noisy when we tried opening the window for a bit of fresh air and unless they provide aircon this could be a problem in the summer. The staff were polite but not particularly helpful, I ended up with a very small serving at dinner because there was little help with explaining the menu in English. (The waiter explained in good English after the meal so it was not a language problem.)
