The bathroom on this occasion would benefit from some modernisation but was perfectly usable. I have stayed at the hotel before and I know some bathrooms have been modernised with walk in showers.

Nice hotel - exceptional kitchen

The food in the restaurant was exceptional - both the a la carte menu and the fixed price options. The staff are friendly and genuinely helpful, giving recommendations for local hiking trails and other activities. The hotel location and the town of Butgenbach are wonderful places.

There was nothing to dislike - we were unable to eat in the restaurant on the last (Sunday) night because we hadn't made a reservation earlier - but this is understandable with very few staff and there are many other restaurants and bars within an easy walk.

Everything as it should be

Everything was as promised. Clean. Friendly. At the lake. Plus: Goldbären on the pillow.

The room was very cold when I arrived and it took the staff quite a while to figure out how to start the bathroom heating. Beware of the restaurant in the house. I found the menu way overpromising.

Good value for your money

Looks a bit old but it's comfortable and price was good. The hotel restaurant was perfect for dinner! Would highly recommend it! Locatie close to the lake is also great. Nice walk of 10 km around the lake!

Super for a weekend stay of a sportive traveller.

The Breakfast is excellent. Even the most hungry cyclist will be able to do the first 100 km on what is provided :-).

Really like this location and hotel, I'm not sure they like our group. Some staff need to leave.

Hotel is great. Reception Staff and final morning breakfast staff member were also great. Some Bar Staff were helpful and friendly too. Room was fab. We've been before and really like the location

Restaurant was painfully slow yet again.... we were a group of 14 though. An hour and a half to get food seems excessive.... other places in the town managed it very quickly. Bar Staff some not so good. Grumpy and not happy to be there Breakfast staff person on one morning was absolutely dreadful... comically bad attitude.

Good view. Friendly staff and reasonnable price. Due to the pandemia, we had to have dinner outside (or in our room). Unfortunately no there was no heating on the terrace.

Staff was not very friendly. Wifi in our room (21) was inexistant. They charged very high prizes for a simple bottle of sparkling water.

Exceptional

Staff was amazing. The receptionist was so jovial and helpful. She personally walked us to our room to make sure everything was good. The bartender?, Sommelier?, Service coordinator?, was very accommodating and knowledgeable. She took our order personally from our room and have great recommendations for the wine. Is this is how they treat guests in such an isolated time, I can only imagine the quality when the hotel is truly "open for business".

It's difficult to evaluate during these times. The room was a bit small, and because we had to spend all our time in the room (including eating, drinking, lounging, etc.), it was too cramped with eating on the bed. Was it the most comfortable - no. Was it unbearable - no. It is also out of the control, for the most part, of the hotel.

Hartelijke ontvangst, een deftig ontbijt en een uitstekend valentijnsmenu in Carol's restaurant

kamer was toch wel wat gedateerd, we waren verstrooid en kwamen op het derde verdiep terecht en daar leek de gang ons toch moderner, de kamer konden we niet zien...
