Check in was smooth, and the people taking our bags to/from our room were excellent.
The room allocated was very dark and lacking in natural light, with a balcony overlooking the garden areas and no direct sunlight.
The rooms themselves are quite dated, with extremely poor noise insulation, meaning you could hear everything going on outside the room, and the noise from people walking/moving in rooms above. This made for a poor nights' sleep.
Breakfast was very hit and miss - a good selection of food options, but the cooked food was Luke warm at best and cold at worst - the hot plates just didn't keep the food warm, and on the last day it seemed like they weren't even on. Getting tea delivered to the table was challenging. On the last day, the restaurant was very quiet and there were plenty of staff, but even then despite having the tea order placed on sitting down at our table it took 15 minutes (and 2 chasing requests) to be delivered. On another day, we asked for a refill of tea but after waiting 10 minutes for it not to arrive we walked out.
The restaurants on site we tried were okay, but very expensive and lacking a wow factor in terms of food. Our best 2 nights out were off site.

Wonderful location .
The hotel is outdated and needs renovation. The prices in the restaurants are extremely high for the average quality. Be careful! Even if you've paid for breakfast but want to eat in your room, you're paying for the service and... for breakfast again! This is the first time we've encountered such rules. The heating is so loud that it's impossible to sleep. There's no hotel lobby where you can sit and have a coffee or a drink. These are apartments in an area with a lot of very expensive restaurants. The apartments are very outdated, with bathrooms in need of renovation. The hotel's saving grace is its wonderful location, right on the beach and surrounded by lush greenery. I think that's why the owners aren't investing in the facility, because they'll find customers anyway...
I highly recommend the room service!

Our stay was defined by the highest degree of hospitality, ensuring every detail was meticulously considered.
The ambiance of the resort—a beautifully curated Andalusian village—provides a rare blend of vibrant atmosphere and essential tranquility. This is a decisively superior experience, complemented perfectly by the exquisite daily breakfast buffet. Unforgettable!

Absolutely amazing breakfast! No better breakfast in the world! There is nothing that they don’t have! The whole resort is a dream, even more the restaurants. Of excellent quality!
The cleanliness of the pool and the beach area.

The spa was quite good but overly expensive
Breaker was good
wry tired old property resting on laurels from 40 years ago It actually hasn’t really changed much since then .
Needs a huge injection of cash to bring it up to a five star standard.
How can you walk into an on site restaurant and be told that the seat you sitting in has a 15% price rise 🤷♂️
Very overpriced. So many more hotels in the area offering much better value

Very special gardens
Ecxellent breakfast
We liked a lot the hotels ambience overall and most of the decoration.
We could not sleep before 03.00 am because the club's music was very loud!!!
The beach and the sea is not nice at all.
Too many children and noise in the pools ( there should be an adult pool).

I have being staying at the Puente Romano for many years and each time I go I always can't wait for the next time. It is the kind of place you don't want to leave, there are many restaurants in the grounds that are spectacular including Nobu one of my favourites and the beach restaurant is informal and very relaxing. The Plaza if full of life and there is always music. Breakfast in the hotel is remarkable there are various stations offering hot and cold food, fresh fruit and a glass of fizz if you want it. The gardens are very pretty with fountains streams and totally manicured plants and flowers.
There is nothing not to like but if I was trying to be critical I would say the main swimming pool hasn't changed in 20years so maybe a change would be good just to be different rather than necessary.

Very nice resort, with a lot of options in terms of restaurants. Great breakfast. Very lively place. Within a 5-10 min drive from pretty much all the other areas in Marbella (e.g., Puerto Banus, Old Town, main restaurants and beach clubs, ...).
I am having a hard time to justify the $3,000/night compared to what this hotel offers. Concretely, while the room is clean and spacious, it feels a bit outdated and is just average compared to other 5-star hotels/resorts that cost a fraction of that price.
Sure, a very extensive breakfast is included, but nothing else besides that. There are no additional perks for hotel guests as far as access to places in the resort.
As an example, access to La Plaza (a lively area in the resort at night) has a minimum spend of $300/person, even if you just want to get a drink. Surprisingly, you can see in there several "sex workers" looking for customers (we witnessed a "negotiation" taking place), but as a guest of the resort you are not allowed in, unless you pay the $300 or complain.

Location and facilities and concierge service generally
Some staff were not friendly, especially at The Grill.
Concerned services got mixed up a few times but were fine overall and very helpful.
Rooms are very tired.
7.0 / 10.0
The location and the choice of restaurants. The rooms are also beautiful
The beach outside seagrill is very dirty. I had 2 children aged 4 who wanted a water after 6pm and i was told i had to go into the restaurant to order their drinks! I cant drag 2 children off the beach playing to order them a drink so we had to go without. Other guests also were trying to have a nice drink at 6pm but couldn’t.
The buggy situation is also so annoying with children as they physically cant wait 30 mins to go places. I waited 1 hr to leave childrens club with a crying child and one asleep.

Restaurants were good
Too much noise of the frogs and birds, There was no water for 4 hours. For buggy wait was more then 30-40 minutes. To pick the luggage it took them 45 minutes. Staff didn’t took the trash until we checked out & wasn’t filling the tea, milk and sugar.

Hotel needs refurbishing. Pools are too small without enough beds. Service is indifferent.

6.0 / 10.0
The decor of the rooms, the friendliness of the lovely lady who checked us in.
The gym was first class and extremely friendly manager showed us the facilities.
The Sea Grill for lunch was really good, although expensive.
The horrific noise caused by guests next to our room. Management tried to deal with the problem, but no offer of a room change was made, albeit some of the first night room rate removed. The cleanliness of the balcony on arrival was not to the standard expected. Breakfast was chaotic on our last day, large queues forming. The receptionist on checkout never asked if we had a good stay, or apologise for the noise issues.

I had everything I needed. didn’t need to go out of resort.
I liked everything, if the price was a bit more affordable for young people it would be best.
8.0 / 10.0
Big and beautiful resort, with 3 swimming pools, luxury room facilities, including yoga mats and block. Plate of fruits on arrival us very nice.Loved the breakfast , that was outstanding.
The entrance doors should be adjusted against slamming. Especially at the night time when neighbours are coming late....
We had a lot of tiny ants inside our room. It is overpriced especially in summer season...
we had junior suite which didn't look like a junior suite, looked like a normal room.

The restaurants are fab.
The facilities are great. Breakfast was good too
The housekeeping could be better. Much better in other 5 star hotels. Turndown is average.
The room could do with a refurb / update. The shower in D14 was old and the shower door didn't even shut properly.
Not a big problem, but we would expect to get offered a drink whilst on the beach or by the pool. I would expect at least once to be asked if we wanted a drink.
Also, couldn't get a bed on the beach as the Fendi collaboration has half of them and I don't think I should have to pay even more to sit on the beach

The room was very nice, well maintained and serviced. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurants were superb. Some of the food we had was as good as we have ever eaten. The square, in the evening, is full of life and fun.
The pools, beach front, etc are really good

The property is gorgeous, has many amazing gardens and peaceful walks. Great pools and bars, and tennis courts.
Service was great, and breakfast outstanding!!
A bit overpriced. Beach is not that clean, there are lots of street vendors on the way out of the hotel to the beach.
People are allowed in hotel property even if they are not staying in the rooms.

It is overrated and too expensive for what it is.
