The location is perfect very close to the center and the train and all is reachable on foot. Size is ok for 2-4 people. The hosts are responsive and the self check in and out is convenient.

We had to pay extra 29£ in a separate platform for linings for the sofa bed which was not mentioned anywhere on booking and it is absurd since from the beginning the reservation has been made for four people. The windows were not cleaned for a long time and most of the do not open, so it is hard fir ventilation. No ventilation in the bathroom as well. We had to take out the rubbish before leaving although cleaning fee is included. There are no hangers for jackets and towels especially in the bathroom that would be much more convenient.

Good location, spacious apartment but not well serviced

The location was excellent, far from the tourist hustle and bustle, at the West End of Edinburgh. The free parking at the location was very appreciated. The apartment itself was great, very spacious but there was much room for improvement in service and upkeep.

The check-in process could improve. The lock was very difficult to locate and then to open to get the keys out. after we managed to locate it so adding a picture would really help. The upkeep of the apartment is required. There were no curtains or blinds to block the sun so in summer expect to be woken up at 5am by sunshine. The least could be to add curtains or blinds to block the light. The apartment is meant for 4 people, with a queen bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room but we had to pay for the linen for the sofa bed which is absurd when we are paying to sleep a family of three! There are no extra garbage bags, please provide a few as it is highly horrible to stay with garbage for a week and we hardly want to bother with buying reams of garbage bags. A few lights on the lamps were not working. There were instructions for a coffee machine but there was coffee machine to be found anywhere. There is only a washing machine, no dryer and the clothes drying stand was broken and unsteady. So if there is some attention to the service in the apartment I would rate it much higher.

The property was spacious and comfortable. I would stay here again.

We tried communicating with the host about having to drive through the LEZ to get to the free carpark, when we discovered this upon our arrival. Our diesel vehicle that gets better mileage than most petrol cars is not considered LE, which is whole other rant. The host did not understand that you could not park in the "Free Parking" at this property without going into the LEZ. We had to pay for parking at a carpark, which was fine. I would have picked a different property had I known about the parking. The free parking was one of the main reasons for selecting this property. When mapping it was hard to see, it was obviously on the border of the LEZ when we mapped it prior to our visit so we were aware of the proximity. So if your vehicle is not LE, free parking does not help you with this property unless you want to be fined every day you drive through the LEZ.

Brilliant location, beautiful property

I have stayed at the Palmerston before. It is a beautiful large apartment in a great location central to everything and within walking distance of great coffee and good food.

It has been some time since my last stay and it was looking a little tired and was not properly cleaned this time around. The windows do not look like they have been cleaned for some considerable time which affects the light and the view onto the road.

over priced for a run down pad.

we have stayed here many times and absolutely loved it! perfect location and suited our needs.

However, the place has become very tired and in desperate need of updating. The hot water tap in the bath hasn’t worked for months. The fan in the bathroom is loud and noisy and the toilet is about to come off the wall. The kitchen is woefully lacking in essentials. We went and bought some wine glasses and donated them! It’s sad to see a place we loved go down hill….. We also had to call 3 times from the doorstep to gain entry code.

Great flat, close to Princes Street.

Close to shops and eateries and about 8 minutes walk from Princes Street on flat ground with a bus stop a few yards from the flat - buses are every few minutes to go to Princes St, The Playhouse etc, would highly recommend and would stay again.

Appartamento di lusso vicino ai servizi e al centro di Edimburgo.

L'alloggio è, oggettivamente, di livello "lusso": collocato al piano terra di un palazzo storico adiacente alla Cattedrale di St. Mary e con i giardini di Princes Street raggiungibili in 5 minuti a piedi, è comunque vicino a molti servizi "quotidiani" (ristoranti, numerosi supermercati e la stazione del tram di Haymarket a 200 metri). Comodissimo il parcheggio riservato sul retro dell'edificio. L'appartamento è splendido e ben tenuto, in particolare il salotto ha dimensioni tali che ci si potrebbe dare una festa, mentre la cucina è grande e funzionale, ricca di dotazioni utili per preparare i pasti e pulire.

Una delle (poche) pecche è costituita dalla camera da letto, nella quale - a differenza del salotto - non sono disponibili delle persiane oscuranti, ma solo una tendina saliscendi che non è idonea a contrastare la luce che proviene dal lampione del cortile sul retro. In pratica la stanza anche di notte resta semi-illuminata.

Sehr enttäuschend, bedenklicher Check-in; ungenutztes Potenzial, sehr schade!

- Lage war gut, wenn auch nicht zentral für die Innenstadt - Personal war bemüht und antwortet meist schnell, konnte Probleme aber teils nicht lösen (Rezeption hat da eindeutig Vorteile)

- Checkin: persönliche Daten inkl. Fotos vom Reisepass sollen auf einer nicht seriös erscheinenden Seite hinterlegt werden, VORSICHT! (steht auch nirgends bei booking.com!) - Sofabett war nicht vorbereitet - (alter) Ofen hat erst nicht nach Anleitung funktioniert, konnten wir aber mit viel Geduld lösen; auch sonst Küche ziemlich abgewirtschaftet (Boden, Toaster, ...) - Lüftung im Bad funktioniert nicht - Fensterscheiben sehr dreckig (bei 100€ Reinigungsgebühr!) folglich viel zu teuer
