Our stay on the Gaia side of the Duoro river was wonderful. The location was perfect for all the port wine houses. The lower bridge to cross over to Porto proper was a very short walk. If you preferred not to climb many stairs, a funicular was right across the river. Additionally, you could walk 10 minutes to take the tram to the upper bridge for an easy walk into town. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and places to see nearby. Great space for 2 couples traveling together.

Great local place to stay near everything. A market was on both sides. Best for no car and using Uber or walking around on own. Weekends are a bit busy and noisy but windows block out most of it. Join and enjoy or if a light sleeper consider earplugs if necessary.

The place was extremely central and close to the river. However the photos indicated a private balcony that we could use we thought was out the back and secure but it was in the front and not practical. The shower heads and water was very poor however that might be a council thing. There were no english speaking user guides to help tourists which I would encourage eg how to use the washer/dryer. The air conditioner didnt work. Host was responsive thank you
