Was epic ! Beautiful place, hosts were super kind and hospitable. The cabin is clean and cozy. Loved waking up to cows in the morning and seeing the stars in evening.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Kate and Jake's home. Upon arrival, we were greeted by their very friendly horse, which immediately set a lighthearted mood. The room is small, but it has everything we needed. The sun's rays from the sunset and the sunrise hit the veranda just right, and we were able to spend a lovely evening and morning just chilling, listening to nature all around.Thank you for sharing your space, Kate and Jake!

This very cute little cottage is a great get away from the city. Quiet and peaceful. Friendly owners who popped in to say hello. Homemade cookies to welcome us and breakfast of cereals provided. The outdoor bathroom didn’t bother us but the weather was great…might have been different if it was raining.

A stunning & clean property managed by the loveliest hosts who were extremely helpful & kind. The cabin was super clean on arrival & had everything we needed. Such a peaceful & quiet location, there were great sunrises & sunsets from this cabin. (plus the animals were super cute!) Would definitely recommend a stay here if you’re after a quiet relaxing getaway. Will be back!

This place is adorable!Check in was easy and the hosts were very friendly.We were delighted to be greeted by chickens, sheep, a cat , a dog and spend time with the cows!The room is a bit small but it was all we needed and they have done well with the space they have. The place was very clean and cozy.The bathroom is open to a field, which we actually liked, it felt like showering in nature.The hosts also provided plenty of breakfast.It was a short/easy drive to town.Thanks for having us!The bathroom

Clean, crisp, cozy, and friendly hosts. But just not quite what we're after. Room for improvement with a screen door, rather than a shower curtain to mitigate the stormy weather for privacy in the outdoor shower/toilet. And clearer description that there aren't any cooking or kitchen facilities in the cabin; we'd planned to cook a quiet meal on site, so instead had to go into the city to eat. Perhaps a little outdoor bench with a gas cooker next to the outdoor table and chairs? The place was very small, but cozy. But we'd really been after something completely isolated and not across from the house and carport. Please note, the hosts were great and giving us complete privacy, but it was just not quite what we were after.

The property is clean, cosy, quiet, and has amazing views. The room is very comfortable. The hosts are super kind and polite. It is as advertised - rainwater, outdoor bathroom, one bedroom with basic kitchen etc. We would definitely recommend for couples and hope to return. The in room guest book is filled with messages from people who have loved staying here. The animals are a bonus and the bird songs are beautiful.

Cabin was exceptionally clean, hosts were welcoming. Aged in our 70’s we were not so keen on having to go outside to use the bathroom, although it too was very clean. Overnight rain made the journey to have a shower a little awkward.

I stayed here for two nights in February 2023 after the cyclone, so no power and many road slips. However Kate was very friendly and accommodating. It's a great spot overlooking farm/grazing land, and hard to believe only a few minutes from Whangārei. I would stay here again.

We were looking forward to meeting Kate but unfortunately we didn’t stay. The room was very small with only one kitchen chair. The bed was quite short, my partner’s feet would have hung out of the bottom his height is 5/8. The outside bathroom would have been ok in the summer, but the day we arrived it was very windy. All in all, although Kate had been so kind in leaving some homemade biscuits milk and bread, it just didn’t suit us.
