Location was easy walking distance to the historic centre. Easy parking outside.
A little noisy. Much worse was the owner's behaviour. My partner and I are top level users of Booking.com, and the standard booking requires the apartment to be left tidy, and for the owner to be responsible for cleaning. Nothing different was said on the website. BUT immediately after we paid we received a message from the owner saying we had to clean the apartment or he would make an additional charge - if that had been in the description we would never have booked that apartment. On the evening before leaving we received another message saying we had to strip the bed, again not a standard condition. When we did we did not like what we found, the mattress and the pillows were badly stained!

A safe, clean and comfy base from which to explore Auxerre.
Very nice little place, very clean and exactley as described - no surprises. The wifi was excellent, once you found the code, the host was very attentive and helpful, and the washing machine a big bonus.
Auxerre can get very hot in the summer and this place does not have A/C- not a problem, but be aware. The host has thoughtfully supplied an electric fan, which was very welcome.
