The grounds of the hotel are magnificent and the pool is really nice . We did enjoy staying by the pool and the view was stunning. We appreciated the calm and the beauty of the place.

I thought the room was very dark and not that comfortable. I understand that it's due to the nature of the building but I had seen pictures of better looking rooms when I booked so was a bit disappointed by ours. I didn't find the staff particularly warm or welcoming. It did lack the Italian feel for me . The restaurant had a beautiful view but the wine they gave me was corked therefore undrinkable and they brought me a different dessert than the one I ordered without any explanation thinking I probably wouldn't notice which was a bit odd! The other thing is you have to pay for the water which, considering the price of the room and the heat in Tuscany , is in my view not an asset to this hotel .

It’s a stunning place, beautifully looked after with incredible views. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and I love what they’re doing with the regeneration work, with the animals and the land and creating natural wines and homemade olive oil. We enjoyed the pool with the views and birds and butterflies all around, dinner on the terrace, breakfast in the garden, a cooking class, and it’s all an easy 10 minute taxi drive to Siena for a day trip to the city. We had the most wonderful few days at La Torre alle Tolfe and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Location, beautiful grounds, historic buildings

Extremely loud outdoor music on the Friday night I was there that lasted till 10:30pm. Plus the restaurant plays loud music on top of that till 10pm. If your room is close to common areas there are guests that sit there to all hours making noise. No quiet hours. If you want a quiet, peaceful evening to enjoy this spot it’s very difficult.
