Worth visiting

This was probably one of the best places I have stayed during my travels. It was pretty much perceft. The room had a small balcony under the lemon tree, well decorated rooms and a shared terrace up the roof which was perfect for just hanging around, having some coffee or drinks, playing cards or just looking at the (very nice) views to the Mediterranean Sea. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, breakfast was provided in the cafe near by. Porto Venere may lack bit of Cinque Terre vibes (less dramatic coastline), however this place makes it worth visiting.

Great location, nice and quiet but close to town. The view was amazing. The rooftop was well stocked with things if you want to eat/ have a drink up there. Host Beppe was lovely too, he greeted us at the parking spot and showed us to our room. The free brekky was good too!

A Hidden Gem with Breathtaking Views and Heartfelt Hospitality!

We had a truly memorable stay at Affittacamere La Tortuga from July 17–20. This charming guesthouse offers a spectacular 180-degree sea view that instantly sets the tone for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. The terrace is a dream—equipped with sunbeds, a refreshing outdoor shower, and a shaded lounge area perfect for unwinding with a cold drink or a complimentary coffee. Starting the day here with a cup of tea or coffee while soaking in the view was pure bliss. The host, Beppe, is an absolute treasure. Warm, welcoming, and incredibly service-minded, he has created a space that feels both authentic and personal. He was always available to share local tips, recommend restaurants, and help plan sightseeing adventures. His passion for hospitality truly shines through in every detail. The room, while not overly spacious, was clean, fresh, and had comfortable beds—perfectly suitable for a short stay. The location is also ideal, just a 5–7 minute walk to the center of Portovenere, making it easy to explore the town. One thing to note: breakfast is served at Moon Café, a short walk away. Beppe provides vouchers, but the value doesn’t quite cover the cost of the food and drinks. That said, the breakfast itself is delicious and worth the visit. Overall, La Tortuga is a fantastic place to stay—peaceful, picturesque, and hosted with genuine care. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Portovenere with a personal touch!

Perfect accommodation, location and host. Would highly recommend.

Great location, nice room, clean. Close to everything including a great little swim spot just across the road. Great terrace where we spent afternoons relaxing. A fabulous host, Beppe , who went out of his way to help us with some problems we had with train tickets. Organised transport for us for when we left . Nothing was too much trouble for him, very welcoming and always helping with luggage up the steps.

Fabulous, loved it great location and beautiful easy access to the beach area for swims.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Our host Beppe was so helpful from the start, very friendly and able to answer our questions regarding the trains and taxi's. Location was fantastic within easy access of many attractions and restaurants. I would definitely recommend Tortuga Portovenere.

A friendly and beautiful place to stay.

We had such a perfect four days here. The room was comfortable and clean, and the view was amazing. Beppe made us feel extremely welcome and it couldn’t have been more relaxing. Porto Venere is a lovely place to visit with great restaurants and lovely walks. The boat trips to the Cinque Terre and Palmaria island opposite are frequent and only a five minute walk away. We really liked the terrace above the rooms with coffee machine, sun loungers, and fridge/mini bar. We had takeaway pizza up there one night which was a great experience. Breakfast was very nice and with very flexible timings in Moon Bar, which is a nice five minute walk away by the sea. There is free private parking right beside the property.

The property and town were perfect. There is a nice little beach right below, but it is really expensive to hire sun loungers and umbrellas, so we only swam from some steps at the corner of it and didn’t spend any time at the beach.

Super accomodation

Lovely accommodation in a great location with helpful host. Very comfortable room, quiet & dark at night, comfortable bed, good aircon and shower. Fab shared balcony with free coffee! We swam off the steps at the bottom of the road, bring water shoes to make entry easier. Plenty of good seafood restaurants nearby. Enjoyable breakfast at Moon - great service and a super location to watch the world go by.

There are about 70 steps from street level to the accommodation - it's the price you pay for that amazing view - but worth knowing if you have mobility issues.

Comfortable and quiet.

Bepe our host was wonderful. He was waiting to greet us on arrival and show us our room. He was around every morning if we needed help with anything. Coffee was also provided on the terrace. A Breakfast coupon was provided (35 euro / person / day) at Blue Moon restaurant. More than enough $ for 3 persons. The room was very quiet. The view from the terrace was lovely. We never made it to the beach, but swimming on the small beach across the street was perfect and not crowded. Beach chairs were available for rent.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming B&B! From the moment we arrived, Beppe was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He went out of his way to help us with parking, which was much appreciated after a long drive. Even more thoughtful, he assisted us with making a dinner reservation at the next place we were heading—such a kind gesture that made our trip even smoother. The room itself was lovely, with a truly fantastic view that we’ll remember for a long time. The location couldn’t have been better—easy parking and just a short walk to the harbor and city center. We couldn’t have asked for a better base for exploring the area. Highly recommended!

La Tortuga has a distinct WOW feeling! We were greeted and helped to the parking, then arrived on the terrace and faced the spectacular view. Spent many hours in the deck chairs and sun beds, enjoying the view and all the boats and yachts coming and going in the bay. Modern, clean and bright rooms and bathrooms. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful, demostrating the best of Italian hospitality. Short walk down stairs the water front and into town.

The location was quiet and lovely, extremely close to the heart of Porto Venere and also to the public and private beaches. We initially went there to see Cinque Terre, but in the end were more impressed by the charming, romantic and much less crowded Porto Venere. The room was clean and well suited for the two of us. Beppe and Rosella are really warm people and attentive hosts. They cook breakfast for all the guests and provide all the information you may need, and inside advice. Also, the view from the terrace is amazing!

Felt like I was staying with family

Everything was absolutely fantastic! The location is perfect, only about a 5 minute walk to the city center. The room was absolutely lovely. The value was amazing. Bepe and wife were so sweet and hospitable. The breakfast was amazing, and the view from breakfast was even more amazing. Also, there was a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in the room - always a bonus :). I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, and I hope I get to return some day

Beautiful B&B with lovely hosts

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our favorite part was the delicious breakfast we were served each morning on the terrace. Beppe and Rosella were incredibly kind and accommodating at every turn- they even adjusted their waffle recipe to make it vegan for me! Our room was very clean, a comfortable size, and had great air conditioning. There are public swimming options and a reasonably priced lido within steps from the hotel.

If you are traveling to Cinque Terre, stay here! Portovenere is a hidden gem and this little B&B is amazing. Great location. Unparalleled views. Kindest innkeepers. Room was bright and comfortable. Breakfast delicious on the terrace with epic water views. A short walk to a beautiful town. And convenient if you are traveling by car. A great base for exploring Cinque Terre - and a great place to escape the crowds. Beppe & Rosella are great. Stay Here!

Friendly, comfortable stay in a beautiful town.

Great communication by Beppe in advance of our visit and he greeted us at the hotel car park which made our arrival very stress free! Beppe and Rosella provided a great breakfast for us on the terrace, with a stunning view over the bay. A full and delicious spread, including cakes and pastries cooked by Rosella, and eggs cooked to order by Beppe. Beppe and Rosella are a delightful couple, so friendly, helpful and entertaining. They really care about their visitors. Porto Venere is a great place to stay - a pretty town with lots of great restaurants and bars, and a short and scenic ferry trip to Cinque Terre. We would happily return!
