Homely, comfortable and clean. The cottage and garden layout are lovely, we enjoyed the fire in the lounge in the rainy evenings, ( wood provided but take lighting equipment) Everything we could need was provided down to kitchen roll, foil, dishwasher tablets etc. Beds were comfortable, black out blinds worked well too. Plenty of hot water and good central heating too. Plenty of good pubs within a few minutes drive. Idyllic quiet and peaceful location. Kitchen tea coffee pepper were provided. While dog is welcome, there was no evidence of previous canine guests- lovely and clean. Maps and games aplenty- seek them out!
We all really enjoyed our break and these comments are purely little comments to be aware of; the 1 mile access road is full of pot-holes and therefore best suited to good suspension and ideally 4WD due to pools of water. There isn’t really wi-if so it is not suitable if you need to work ( unusually some of the local pubs don’t have wi-fi either!). The shower is above the kitchen and while there was no water leaking out in the shower-room, there was quite a leak into the kitchen below! The separate bathroom has no integral shower. The games supply and maps are tidily hidden in the hall cupboard (unfound until we left), the lounge door must be kept open due to the draft for the fire. A welcome pack of milk bread etc would be a lovely addition. But it really is a super place and we would recommend it.

Really pretty, cosy and comfortable.
Lovely big kitchen. Decorated Christmas tree was a beautiful addition, much appreciated.
Great for walks from directly outside the property. Peaceful surroundings, near to canal towpath.
WiFi stopped working and no mobile signal, so a little bit cut off.

the location with walks around the farm was ideal for our stay.
the cottage was well equipped, spacious, warm and cosy.
the beds were comfortable and the shower/ bath rooms were well appointed.
the squeaky noisy floorboards.

Quiet location with a beautiful garden. The property is spacious and inviting and very private.
It is in the countryside on the backyard of a farm, so you have to deal with insects and have to be prepared for this.

Excellent location, lovely sized property and the gardens were wonderful
It could do with a deep clean and the bath being fixed and maybe a shower over the bath. We managed for the 5 of us but it would have been easier with an additional shower.

I had to make a few phonecalls to get the proper pin number for collecting the key, for making wi fi working, bathtub was not in use so we had just one bathroom usable, last 24 hours heating was not working, so it was freezing and without hot water. And for the end, some guy started to wash windows at 7:30 am, while we were not decent yet.We were supposed to leave the house by 10am

Stunning secluded cottage close to fields, walks, canal, lakes, wildlife and much much more. Towns, amenities close by..so close to so many things.
The odd pot hole on way in, on track road, but still well maintained.

The cottage is in a quiet rural location, but not too far from civilisation. The gardens are beautiful, beds are comfy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The internet wasn't good, but owing to the location, we didn't expect it to be excellent.

The location was fantastic. Very peaceful.
The cottage was lovely with a lot of original features.
The games in the garage were great for visiting family
The only thing we could suggest was a shower over the bath in the main bathroom

The property was large and comfortable and suited our needs of meeting and staying with our friend from overseas. Despite being of 1880's build (in parts) both the heating and plumbing were very good. We had a few snags (internet, electrical and kitchen equipment) which the agent and owners dealt with quickly and efficiently. Whilst it's not somewhere we are likely to return to, we enjoyed our stay.
The internet wasn't working when we arrived and once fixed (within 24 hours and involving BT) it became apparent that the speed was quite limited, on discussion with the owner it appears they are in a 1 mile void where the internet is not covered particularly well by the provider. Although this is not uncommon in rural settings, it would have helped to have known this before booking as daily communication overseas was required.

Very nice place to stay. Quiet location with lovely surroundings. Ideal for those seeking a rural retreat.
There was no WIFI, The signal was so bad the router couldn't connect all the time we was there. This was reported but we had no communication from Martin to resolve this.

The cottage is larger than expected and a great size for a family to stay in. It is attached to a farm in a quiet and peaceful location. The garden is beautiful and was a great spot to have a meal in the sun. Was nice to be able to walk along to the canal and join the path there for a lovely walk. The village nearby has a good size Co-op and a nice pub.
If we were staying for more than a couple of nights I think the bathroom situation would be more inconvenient - the shower is in the en-suite of one of the bedrooms. The cottage was cleaned to a good surface level for a short stay but could do with a deeper clean of the kitchen and bathrooms.

The location was great as we flew into Birmingham airport and were visiting several local places of interest.
Only one shower, bath not really useful.

Lovely comfortable spacious cottage, very warm and cosy. Nice, quiet, secluded location, surrounded by beautiful fields, and lots of birds. Cottage is located at the end of a farm track, but there were plenty of signs pointing you in the right direction. Lovely large kitchen/diner, comfy beds, plenty of space. Had everything we needed.
Wifi wasn't great, but this wasn't too much of an issue for us.
Could do with some serving spoons/ladles - other than this kitchen had everything.

The cottage was beautiful throughout. Comfortable and cosy with excellent facilities. We loved the garden and the location. Lichfield is a wonderful town to visit just a few minutes from the cottage.
Didn't use wood fire because it hadn't been cleaned out. This wasn't a major issue. There is a step over a low wall at the entrance. I'm sure there is a reason it is like this but it could be a hazard, particularly in bad weather.

The property was set in a quiet location down a track that was much longer than I had first expected, but was not an issue. The fact that we were able to take our dogs with us was one of the main reasons for selecting our stay at Woodend Cottage. Accommodation and facilities within the property were v. good. Accommodation was v. warm (central heating, which we needed to turn down during our stay), and logs for a wooden open fire in the living room, with lighter and lighter fuel blocks to light fire was nice to have.
Outside the property there was sufficient space to park 3 vehicles. The garden and a track way leading away from the property gave space to walk the dogs on leads. It was also possible to walk dogs along entrance track on leads.
Liaison via email with owners on booking.com site also good, with good response to questions asked.
We had nothing to fault during this stay.

The property was in a rural location, but only a short drive to Lichfield and The National Arboretum. There were some nice walks around the area.

Not enough mugs/cups for us although we do drink alot of tea

Location was perfect. Beautiful garden and surroundings.
No hair washing facilities in second bathroom.
Chest of drawers need maintenance on handles.
Shortage of glass tumblers and more crockery would be useful.

Lovely quiet remote location, very comfortable and homely, The house has every you would need for your stay away.
Once off the main road, the travel to the accommodation is on a dirt track full of pot holes! Not great for those alloys. Wifi is very weak stayed on our own 4/5G which works only in certain areas.
