About this house rental
The house is situated in a traditional French village, in the heart of the picturesque Vallee de l'Ouche, this tastefully restored 125 m2 stone house offers comfortable accommodation with charming French style.
The accommodation is on three levels. On the ground floor a living/dining area with adjoining kitchen, shower room and toilet. On the first floor there is a comfortable living room, with access to a covered terrace, a double bedroom and bathroom. Stairs from the living room lead to the second bedroom with a double bed.
Outside you’ll find a delightful enclosed courtyard garden, the perfect place for al fresco eating, barbecuing, or to sit and watch the world go by.
The house is just a few minutes’ walk from the banks of the river Ouche and the Burgundy Canal, where the towpath meanders through the countryside. Perfect for a gentle stroll or cycle to the local bar and bistro 3 kms away in the port at Pont d'Ouche. 3 kms the opposite direction, is the Abbaye de la Bussiere, a beautiful restaurant and hotel situated its own parkland.
In the village is a café/general shop. There is an artisan bakery in the next village, a short drive or cycle away, for morning baguettes and croissants, they also deliver every morning. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes away in the market town of Bligny-sur-Ouche.
Veuvey-sur-Ouche is in a great location for exploring the Cote d’Or. Châteauneuf en Auxois is 12 Kms away, where you can visit the famous Chateau de Châteauneuf, a 15th-century hill fortress situated in a charming village with a good selection of restaurants. Lac de Panthier, where you'll find a sailing club, a bar and restaurant, and a supervised beach is 15 kms away. You can rent a variety of water sports equipment such as Catamarans, windsurf, stand up paddle boards and kayaks.
If you enjoy walking or cycling there are miles of tracks along the Burgundy Canal or through the forests of the Ouche valley.
It’s a 30 km drive to the fascinating walled town of Beaune, the centre of the Burgundy wine making region, where you’ll find some of the finest examples of medieval French architecture along with many restaurants, cafes and beautiful shops to explore. The historic town of Dijon is also only 30 kms away.
Finally, let’s not forget the lovely vineyards of Burgundy, strolling through them and enjoying some wine-tasting is an experience you will never forget. Take a drive along the Route des Grand Cru from Dijon to Santenay via Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune and pass through some of the most famous vineyards in the world.

We spent 2 weeks in Veuvey sur Ouche and were completely thrilled. The house is very lovingly furnished, and has everything you need on holiday. It is very cosy and offers space to relax when the weather is not so good. We had a cold and rainy first week and really enjoyed the hours relaxing with a cup of tea on the sofa. The location is perfect for excursions to Dijon or Beaune. Our hosts were very friendly and always helpful when we had a question, We would go on holiday there again at any time
