House was lovely, beautiful authentic feel with modern rooms.
Located in beautiful grounds, felt like a hidden oasis.
Only thing could improve would be kettle and tea in room. Had to go down to the kitchen. But we knew before booking.

This is a low-service / self-check-in / out hotel, so wasn't expecting anything special. No food, drink, toiletries etc of any kind. It is an old building with many interesting features, but there were also some problems.
Bedroom radiator was stuck full-on, The thermostatic valve is failed. (Turns, but doesn't function.)
Bathroom radiator was also full on, had no thermostatic valve, but the manual valve could be turned off.
Spent the whole time with windows wide-open to be anywhere near comfortable.
Shower plumbing worked, no shortage of hot water, but the thermostatic valve was stuck, so almost "cold" showers.
Drain under-capacity for the shower flow rate, so had to be careful to adjust flow down, not to flood.
Floor had bare and some loose floorboards, and some had old iron "brad" nails, loose and sticking-up. Nice period feature, but hazardous for bare feet - both uneven boards and protruding nails.

Defective shower unit difficult to regulate
Non compliant wiring throughout the Room.If there was a serious fire the wiring would fall to the floor causing possible entanglement to occupants and or rescuers
Strong smell of cigarette smoke from adjoining guests being dragged into my room by the rather effective bathroom extractor, which I could not turn off
