The Tides condominium is located directly on the beautiful Hollywood /Hallandale Beach. Twin, 16-story buildings rise up on the beach with two heated pools, two fitness centers, movie theater, yoga, spa, cafe, lounge, billiards and 24 hour valet. Overall it was good. Condo was clean. It was late when we arrived so registration was closed. It was difficult and stressful. Description advertised 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach but you had a buy a voucher at the registration office. Service elevator was down and at certain times of the day you had to wait a while for a ride down to the lobby.

The reviews said everything was with8n walking distance. Everything is at least 1.5 to 2 mile walk. We also disnt have enought.p. in our place or papertowls . Only 2 wash cloths per bathroom. 1 for each person for 5 days. For as much as we spent you would think they would leave you enough for the wk. Also the key ards were $30 each instead of $20 like they quoted us.

Ok people, here’s an honest review of the condo, from someone who stayed here for a solid week in July. Let me start with the pros. This condo is clean, and in good shape. It shows a little wear, but so does my house. It is very well stocked with towels (beach and bath) and plenty of blankets. The beds are comfortable and we easily slept all 6 of us, although our youngest made up a bed on the floor since they didn’t want to share. The keypad to get into the unit is easy to use. The pool area is very clean and was never crowded, we were always able to find a chair and the kids enjoyed the pool. The beach area was also never crowded, no matter what time of day we went down. The unit comes with two beach chairs, an umbrella, toys for the kids, even a small cooler. There is a little cafe just off the lobby area, great for a quick coffee, and also convenient to grab milk and toilet paper. Walmart is really close for grocery purposes. Cons: The check in process is a bit of a hassle, but as long as you expect it and have patience, it’s fine. Be sure to get to the office by at least 4:00 to check in and bring your whole party so they can get the bracelets to access everything. There need to be instructions on how to lock the keypad and also checkout instructions. Some things I would recommend- A toaster A pair of scissors A net for the kids to catch fish New pillows for the master bedroom Overall I give it 4 stars. We had fun.

Great communication with owner/manager when needed. Place was clean and comfortable. Nice little deli on first floor for breakfast/lunch and also sold wine/beer. Quick Uber ride to Walmart for supplies.

This property is a great value for the area. The beach is fantastic and the unit comes with 2 beach lounge chairs and umbrella, set up daily by an attendant. In the unit was a wagon, extra beach chairs, boogie boards and toys. Many other guests were jealous of our wagon! The complex was clean and well managed, with no wild spring break college groups to deal with. Definitely a peaceful family atmosphere. The view of the intercoastal and ocean are great from the 11th floor unit. It's not super fancy and the unit/complex is a bit older than most other properties in the immediate area but it's also priced 3x's or more lower than most condos nearby - and the beach/ocean are the same! The pool area was clean and well maintained and the water was bathtub warm. We did not rent a car and had reasonably priced uber rides to nearby restaurants - including up to the Hollywood beach boardwalk which is exactly 2 miles north of the complex. My family had a wonderful vacation and would book again.

We were very disappointed in the condo. The floors were very dirty and there were little black bugs in the bathroom and the one bedroom. I have never slept on beds and pillows that were so uncomfortable. The doors were dirty and beaten up. This condo was not worth the money. The shower curtain fell down twice and on the last day the hood over the stove fell down on one side. The property is not in walking distance to any restaurants so you need a car if you are staying there. There are a lot of extra charges for everything. We enjoyed the weather and there were fun things to do but it is an extremely busy area. The ocean view was beautiful and there was easy access to the pool and beach. However, I would not stay there again.

We spent the week after Christmas here. Checkin was easy and everyone was very nice. The location was perfect, right on the beach and near everything. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The beach chairs and wagon came in very handy. We would stay here again!

Upon entering this condo, I was hit with a strong, horrible musty/mold smell. It was nauseating. Then, noticed buckling of one wall and shabbily repaired wall in the bathroom. Looks as if there was a water problem. Then, the vents were black with soot. In the second bedroom, the ceiling was black above the vent. I took pics of it. We also had a locked closet presumably filled with amenities such as toys, beach chairs and umbrella? Check in was a bit crazy because they couldn’t get their portable CC machine to work. Then, having to go to the other tower for parking validation was very inconvenient. It is not a smooth process! They (The Tides) also turned off the water, without any notice as we were getting ready for a family wedding. Nothing like bathing with bottled water. Another disturbing aspect was that the cleaning person came in as we were leaving and she brought in two rolls of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, a garbage bag and one pod for the dishwasher.- which is all that give you. She remade the beds that we slept in and didn’t change the sheets🤢 A family member rented a completely renovated 2 bedroom/bath condo, in the same complex that was impeccable and I paid more! The view was great as was the location. But this condo was such a disappointment and maybe the health department should be notified.

First of all a security deposit was included in the price which I didn't get back. Second, upon arrival not only did I have to pay more for parking then I was told for 3 days but before we even checked in I had to pay an additional cleaning fee and then more money for the keys then what Iwas told. I was told that I would get a portion of that back and I never received that either. I ended up paying hundreds more than i thought and I never got any of my deposits back. Not to mention that this place is pretty much falling apart at the seems. Do not go by the pics because I promise you, it is not that nice. I do not recommend and I will never stay here again. #completelyrippedoff

I should have read more of the reviews before we booked. Slats on bathroom blinds were still missing, man downstairs banged on his ceiling when we weren't noisy, and check-in process was a hassle. We received a message about the extra fees which were annoying but it was too late to cancel by then. The laundry situation was not ideal. People try to 'hold' the machines so no one else can use when there are only 2 available. Area is nice and the beach was great!

Reserving the condo online was simple and easy. The pictures were pretty much what you get. Would have liked to see more pictures beforehand. The tub was smaller than expected for my 6'3" disabled son to get in and out of. More items in the kitchen would be helpful (towels, pot holders, wash cloths) as well as extra garbage bags and dish washing tablets. Only two for a week is not nearly enough!! As mentioned in other reviews, the check in process is horrible! We went to our condo to check in, and was told had to go next door. NOT an easy process as you have to get back out on the main road do a U turn go back down the road and do another U turn. Checking in took at least an hour. With no where to park out front. It's crazy!! We were aware of the extra charges when we got there, but there is no reason this could not be taken care of in advance. Loved the location as it was close to the pool and beach. Too much traffic and very little places to eat close by. Nice clean area, but very busy. Loved our view of the ocean and the bay, but chairs could have been a bit more comfortable.

PLUSES:: Property was very clean. Balcony had a great view. It was also nice to have beach service, two chairs and an umbrella included with the rental. MINUSES: Refrigerator was old and water was leaking onto top shelf. Living room furniture was very uncomfortable. One of the chairs was broken. Master bathroom vertical blinds were missing slats. Second bathroom one wall was all buckled and looked like mold damage. Balcony furniture was so uncomfortable you couldn't sit there for more that five minutes, which was a shame because it was a terrific view Check in was not smooth. We got there late, which was OK, but the next day we had to wait for someone to bring us the keys.and he was an hour late. Then go to the next building and pay for the fob., and that was really slow. Entire morning was shot. Cleaning fee should be included in the VRBO fees.

They take you to a place in the building where you pay for the parking pass and demand the cleaning fee right there (cleaning fee is hidden in description and not charged to your total) They only take cash or some kind of cash app for the cleaning fee. 2. One of the toilets wasn't flushing. When I contacted property manager afterwards cause we used one bathroom. Instead of just apologizing she said "current person staying there says it works" even though I showed the person checking me out it's not working. 3. Condo needs updating. One of the blinds shuts half way. It was broken. Also when I said this to owner she was arguing that no one can see us. Bathroom blind handle is rusted. No valet due to covid yet. parking. Fee as well in the description. So watch for that. Access from parking lot straight to building isn't quick. No elevator if you park on the roof of parking lot. Tough if you have kids and stroller.

The unit was very nice and it was very clean however that’s where the compliments end. The check in Was very complicated. I was unaware that there were additional fees in the amount totaling of about $300 plus a park $50 parking fee. The beds in the unit was very hard as well as the furniture in the living room was like sitting/laying on rocks! However the views of the ocean was amazing! But I will never stay in this unit again but I will revisit that part of town

The location of the property was nice. You have a view of the ocean and you were pretty much close to stores and restaurants. The guests there acted like actual guests which was a nice change of pace for once. Everyone respected each other and was not loud or obnoxious. The apartment is fully furnished with the basics. The furniture was not really comfortable but it served its purpose. There were 2 basic metal chairs and a small table on the balcony that were also uncomfortable. It doesn't allow you to sit out there for long periods of time which I normally like doing while reading a book. Kitchen is fully equipped with basic essentials. I will say it's odd that we were not allowed to even flush toilet paper down the toilet - it is a modern flushing/sewage system. We had some trouble with the internet and the host was not very responsive except for the time we had a power outage for a few hours. She was prompt with responding then. My family and I had checked in a whole day later due to the issues with the flights being cancelled on us. Because it was after hours of 8 pm, we couldn't get our fob key, parking pass and bracelets that's mandatory which was fine. It was no fault of the host or property owner but check in was a nightmare. The valet guy took forever to get us checked in and to obtain our temporary parking pass. Since the office closed, we were required to go to the office the next morning to obtain the fob key (which is $20, no refund back after returned), parking pass ($20 cash deposit - which was not mentioned on the page), and bracelets. Even though the system was completely down all day, we were required to obtain everything and THEN go back the next morning to activate the fob key. The staff seemed to not be in alignment with the check in process because initially we kept getting different instructions by different people there. If you want to do laundry onsite, they do not mention that the card is $5 cash only - you'll need to go to the machine in one of the lobby towers to deposit money into the laundry card. Elevators was very slow. When it's busy, it'll stop at every other floor. It didn't help that the service elevator and one of the three elevators for passengers were out of service. After all the check-in process drama was over, the rest of the trip was pleasant. The pool area & beach was very nice, relaxing, quiet. We enjoyed it overall.

We loved the property a lot but in the apartment there were a few things that turned me down. The refrigerator had a awefully smell that even if we cleaned it still smelled so bad and BIG problems with the AC pipes located in the ceiling that sweat a lot and drip so much water on the floor I had to put a pan to collect the water until it stopped, was not able to keep low temps inside even thoe outside were 100. Very disappointing for the price we paid to have this issue. Otherwise the condo looked very nice and clean.

Where do I start? Communication was extremely poor. Check- in process was a disaster ! Arrived at 4 pm per instructions after driving more than 16 hours and not only was no one there to help us with check in but the unit was not ready. Had to wait an additional 2 hours sitting in a cafeteria while they cleaned the place. Please keep in mind this was NOT a last minute reservation. The place has a crazy number of rules and regulations that make it extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable for vacationers. They charge you a cleaning fee in addition to what you already paid plus a parking and per key fee which I find completely unreasonable and ridiculous. So if after reading this review you still decide to stay here be prepared to pay a substantial amount of extra money upon arrival. If ordering delivery you must go down to the lobby every time because they will not allow delivery to go upstairs into the units. The pool closes very early and the elevators are slow. You MUST wear masks at all times inside the building and in the event you forget to you are liable to a hefty fee per violation. A very unpleasant vacation to say the least. My advice: save yourself the nightmare and stay somewhere else.

My family and I (Total 6) stayed in this condo for 4 days and had a pleasant experience for the most part. I would like to point out a few things to consider before renting. Check In: While the property Manger was extremely helpful and facilitated a speedy check in....the process was a bit daunting. The condo is real strict on the wrist bands, so the entire party needs to be present for the bands to be applied. This unit comes with a complimentary Beach umbrella and two chair assignment. So that was a huge plus! There is also a closet with extra toys for the kids. Fees: Parking pass is a twenty dollar deposit but immediately returned upon check out. The cleaning fee amount was reasonable, but I didn't understand why I paid this but still had to take all the trash bags out with me when I checked out. Gym: The gym is still operating at a limit capacity so the front desk will have to issue a separate key for you to enter the gym. Pool: While the pool was nice, the gentleman managing the pool was harassing a lot of people for the smallest of infractions. Laundry: The communal laundry units need some serious updating. The washer left a rusty metallic smell on my clothes. And finally, the gentleman in 10W (the unit below this one). If you make the smallest of noises he will begin to bang on his ceiling/your floor. While i understand his complaint into noises as we could hear footsteps coming from the unit above us, he would bang at midnight to 3 am when everyone was asleep. I was only waiting for this person to physically pay us a visit where he would have been met with a serious problem. With all that in consideration, we had a lot of fun in the sun!

The condo was in a nice location - I wasn't nervous about walking around the area at all. Quiet too, no crazy loud parties going around us. You do have to pay cash upfront for parking, key fobs, cleaning fee so be sure to bring enough for that first check-in day. They had lots of beach towels which was nice and chairs, an umbrella, and other miscellaneous beach stuff. One bar of soap is provided for each bathroom but that's it, so bring your own shampoo/conditioner. Also, only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. After that you have to go buy some. The condo has a little market downstairs that has a lot of necessities and food that you can purchase which is nice. The location is also close to a Walmart. There was central A/C which kept the whole place nice and cool (not just one room). Its bedrooms were very large and roomy. Overall we really liked our stay and had no problems. Overall we really liked our stay and had no complaints. 😊

Great place, could use a face-lift but it worked for us! We were charged $50 for arriving late when our flight was the issue (so we had no control), not expecting it...also we had to provide everything but large beach and bath towels (no hand or wash clothes, only left over toilet paper, no soap, etc) so that added expenses. We were checked in but not fully when we got there, we had to just wing it the next morning. We had no directions or helps on anything not even instructions as to how we checked out...so again winging it. Once we finally figured out all the rules, etc. all was fine, I won't lie, it was stressful. But we loved ordering from the beach and getting free delivery from the Enjoy Cafe, we lived sitting out on the balcony. The movie selection was fun. The area has lots to do and was a great area to stay in!!

Great area and condo. Communication could have been better a week before departure. Not knowing some exact details about address and condo number and check in details more than 3 days or so before flight makes you a bit uncomfortable but all was well in the end.

The condo itself was clean and decently equipped. However, there were several other factors that made this property one that I will never book again. For starters, read ALL of the description (all the way down to the end) . They do not include their cleaning fee like 99% of all other VRBO rentals do and there is an additional mandatory property fob fee of $20 per every 2 people. Next, the lack of communication before the trip even after messaging the owner and finally calling the property manager the day before to find out check-in procedures was disconcerting. Thirdly, The property where this condo is located is not vacationer friendly, at all. There are four elevators, but you are not allowed to use but one (service) elevator if you have luggage, beach chairs, groceries, etc. or be fined $100 and they paid a guy to actually sit there and make sure people didn’t use them. When we arrived the one service elevator was down and we were told that we would have to wait there in the lobby until it got fixed which might take an hour or more. This is bad enough, but it was 8:00 pm and we had been traveling all day and had not eaten supper yet. There were several people waiting to go up and started complaining and after 20 minutes or so they finally decided to escort everyone up but only two at a time. Also, they threatened a fine of $100 for not wearing your mask properly. Several, people said they got fined. By the way, Be ready to pay for doing your laundry, as well. Maybe this is common in this part of Florida? Finally, we were harassed by the man in 10w right below this unit. We were a bunch of 50 something women and two daughters . We were not there partying by any means, and this guy would bang on the ceiling if we were just talking and giggling at the table. Then he came upstairs and was very ugly to our daughters and kicked the door. It scared them to death. The security team told us that this guy was known for doing this. They did talk to him and he only banged on our ceiling one other time. As a previous VRBO owner that worked hard at providing a rental that would be clean, comfortable, welcoming, and vacationer friendly, The Tides missed the mark. I will not be returning.

Pictures online advertise a room w/ a poolside view facing the ocean. This is Not the case. The room itself was as advertised, but Every evening and every morning we hear car alarms, heavy traffic and construction. The beach and pool were amazing.

2 bedroom condo was perfect. It felt like home. Beds very comfortable. Nice and clean. Great area. Close drive to grocery and shopping stores. Wonderful restaurants near by as well. Very safe area. Beach was amazing.

Great communication with Tina , the owner, and with Patricia, the property manager led to an easy check-in process. The unit was just as described: very neat & comfortable. Enjoyed the beach & pool with easy access in & out. Everyone was very friendly, especially the security guard. He was always so pleasant as he greeted us each day on our way out to the pool/beach. We will definitely be back.
