Seal Reef is The Luxury OCEANFRONT vacation home that delivers 200 degree ocean and coastline views and spectacular sunsets in a well-maintained and QUIET private in neighborhood. The Blufftop home provides excellent privacy to enjoy the space without distraction; plus it is conveniently located to the historic Mendocino Artists Village and a short distance to the coastal city of Fort Bragg.
This home is PET/SMOKE FREE and thoroughly sanitized between guests.
We use a 70% alcohol based antibacterial solution on all surfaces including inside and outside door handles for the safety of all our guests.
This property is within easy walking distance of the beautiful Fern Canyon trail and waterfall in Russian Gulch State Park and Point Cabrillo Lighthouse State Park with uncrowded sandy beaches north and south. Ideally located to indulge in one adventure after another. Good fishing for Lingcod and Cabezon is right in your back yard. There are also hiking trails, beachcombing,, kayaking, cycling, winery hopping, gourmet dining or B B Q ing the "day's catch" while taking in the incredible view at the house. It's all here. SEAL REEF is the vacation home you've been hoping to find.
The back yard enjoys 227 feet of ocean frontage set 30 feet above a calm-water cove that provides fishing or gathering mussels. A glass protected deck and walls of windows offer an endless attraction for watching the resident colony of Harbor Seals basking in the sun with their pups on the reef below, migrating whales, porpoise jumping and pelicans in formation as they glide inches above the water. It is truly AWESOME!

Our daily rate is for double occupancy (2 persons) $66 per additional guest (6) guests maximum) infants excepted. My husband and I stayed in this house for our 35th anniversary. The view is amazing!! The house was very clean and stocked well with everything we needed. There is plenty of room for a family with 3 bedrooms but we only utilized the master bedroom. Elizabeth, the host, is very nice and helpful.

We were mesmerized by the ocean view through the glass paneled deck. Seal Reef is aptly named since there are five or six that hang out on the rocks in front. We saw a whole parade of whales migrating North- many breaches spread across a wide area that went on for almost an hour. We enjoyed the power recliner chairs and found the beds comfortable. We barbequed fish from the Princess fish market and enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen. We explored nearby Russian Gulch SP and hiked to the waterfall. We toured the Cabrillo Point lighthouse and learned all about the area's history and marine life. Host Elizabeth met us at check in and made sure we had wood for the impressive fireplace.

Just a breathtaking place. The smell of the ocean is mesmerizing. We watched the waves for hours and enjoyed all of the scenery each day we were there. Lovely manager of the property. It was very relazing anc comfortable.

This is one of the loveliest VRBOs we've stayed in. Very clean and nicely decorated, gorgeous views, safe private neighborhood, and a very nice host who was eager to make sure our stay was good. We liked the proximity to both Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Enjoyed seeing the harbor seals and shorebirds from the house. I was glad we brought our binoculars. And the stars were fabulous!

Mendocino is my favorite place to be. For this trip I wanted to share this special place with my partner and some family. I found this beautiful home on the bluffs available so we booked it for 2 weeks. Had two family members join us for a couple nights. This home was perfect with all that we needed - very comfortable beds, furniture and all the amenities with an endless enjoyment of the ocean, seals and sunsets. Easy drive to go kayaking up the Noyo River, shopping or dining in town and tons of hiking. Our hosts Elizabeth and Michael were awesome. What a great experience.

This home is spectacular. We’ve rented a number of ocean view homes along the Mendocino coast and this home is our absolute favorite. The view is so incredible that it kept us from wanting to leave the house. So peaceful. We saw seals on the rocks below and birds offering beautiful flights. The furniture is nice quality and comfortable. The kitchen has just about everything you’ll need. We cooked most of our meals. Elizabeth was incredible. So friendly and helpful.

Beautiful and Tranquil best describe this vacation home! The location and view are unbelievable. The house literally sits on the edge of an ocean cliff. We sat for hours outside on back deck, listening to the sound of sea spray bouncing of the rocks below and watching the harbor seals resting on the rocks. The house is furnished with everything you need for your stay including shampoo and bath soap, coffee, outdoor gas grill and cooking spices. Elizabeth is an awesome host and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The house is just up the road from the Russian Gulch State Park. If your up for a day hike its a beautiful walk to the falls. There is a beach and light house on the other side of this property that makes fun day trip as well. An easy drive to Fort Brag for dinning out and shopping. Take a short drive to Glass beach or a little further to Drive Through Tree State Park. We were able to spend the last day in the Napa valley area for wine tasting before making our way back home. This was an unforgettable vacation for our first trip to California. Will absolutely book again!

We met our adult daughters at Seal Rock for five days over Christmas. It exceeded our expectations by a long shot. The home is cozy and had everything we needed. If you enjoy exploring rocky seashores then this is the place for you! Only 8-10 minutes from Mendocino and some of the most gorgeous landscape we've ever seen. The property manager was so responsive and we truly couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and fun place to spend the holidays.

We loved our stay at Seal Reef. The house was steps from the water, so we had the soothing sound of the surf through our windows each night. The house itself was excellent - roomy, clean and beautifully appointed. The kitchen had everything you would need (the 4 of us cooked dinner in one night). Even the art on the walls was impressive. It was also very nice to look out on the local resident seals each morning, sunning themselves on the rocks just a stone's throw away. We will return!

This property is just stunning. The view is more beautiful than in the pictures and the home is just lovely. Elizabeth was so helpful and made our stay just perfect. This is an absolute gem and we can't wait to come back. Couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Everything exceeded our expectations.

Our first night was a little glitchy; all of the instructions stated that the host would meet us at check-in time to provide us with keys and a tour of the home. When we arrived we couldn’t get ahold of the host and waited for around 30 minutes before we looked for a key and let ourselves in. We arrived just before dinner time, so when it came time to cook, we got out the marinated meat that my father had planned to grill but found that the grill wasn’t working. At the end of dinner, after we had been enjoying the beautiful sunset in the dining room, we tried shutting the double doors and realized that the hinges were bent and rusted and wouldn’t shut. We called Beth and she came over right away. We got the doors shut and didn’t use those doors again the rest of the week. She also brought over a new grill the next morning for us and we used it every night the rest of the week. Beth was very accommodating to our family’s needs when we found out at the last minute that our 9 year old nephew would be with us, and grateful that he was welcomed into the home despite their no children rule. The home is beautiful and comfortable, positioned atop the bluffs with an incredible view of the ocean and sunsets. The location is in a quiet neighborhood, however there is a new home being constructed next door so if you visit in the next several months be prepared for construction noise. It is 5 mins to Mendo, and 10 to FB. We loved our stay and will definitely be back again!

Property was in good shape even though our host had to clean house because of weather. The host was excellent and brought fresh food for fireplace twice. He house needs better lighting especially in the kitchen. The weather was so wild that my son had to switch rooms because he was afraid the window in his bedroom was about to break. Loved this rental. Simple, elegant, warm and homey. Easy check in and check out, given greater latitude on timing when available;; wood burning fireplace plus fire pit out on the back bluff overlooking the ocean. Did I already say STUNNING views. Great hiking trails, a waterfall, beaches. We visited the cute little town a car ride (3 to 5 minutes away) for some great dining on two nights, the local pub, Patterson’s, and the Italian restaurant, Luna…? Both were wonderful for our different moods and tastes those nights. Luna (something) had outdoor seating with nice heat lamps and a single musician playing our favorite mellow music. The house had games and puzzles, and just one TV in the central, family room. Well equipped kitchen with a gas burning stove and basic condiments for easy cooking. Just lovely. Connectivity was spotty but not impossible. We had 5 days of peace, reading, watching movies, playing games, hiking, exploring the town. Wine tasting is nearby for those interested. And the market in town was wonderful! A pleasant surprise. I’d return in a heartbeat. Had 5 nights. Could have used 10 to get all the knots out!

I was absolutely floored when Elizabeth showed me the house. It is over the top beautiful. The location - how can you go wrong with ocean views in almost every single room. My husband and I needed to get away quickly. My dog had just passed away and I needed to be in a place where I felt comfortable and could try to process his loss. Elizabeth was SO friendly and caring. I can't say enough good things about her. The house is just spectacular. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. In fact, I did prepare a very special meal and the whole time I was mesmerized by the ocean views, the trees and the overall natural landscaping as I was working in the kitchen. I will end on this. I've been staying at high end houses for a long time throughout the years. Only twice have I felt the need to leave the house sparkling clean the day we left so that A) I would be welcomed back but B) to give the house the respect it deserves. This was really a dream house and I would love to come back.

We love this beach house so much! We just stayed there for the second time and it was every bit as amazing as the first time. Aside from the phenomenal location and views, the house is well equipped, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The owners have thought of everything and the property manager is great to work with. We can’t wait to go back next year!
