About this house rental

Ocean Dreams, with three bedrooms (3 kings), and 2 full baths and 1 half bath is suitable for up to six people in total comfort. Enjoy the cozy living room in front of the gas fireplace and large picture windows for views out over the cove, the ocean, and the Point Cabrillo lighthouse. The formal dining room has its own view windows with open space to the large kitchen with all the necessities.

Take a walk through the pleasant neighborhood (it's just a half-mile to Caspar Beach). Get sand between your toes and watch the waves wash into the shore. On top of that, the little country store at the beach rents paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, and more.

The deck offers views of the ocean and lighthouse at any time of the day, of course, but it's the favorite spot for many in the evening. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation at Ocean Dreams. The views from the house and yard are spectacular, and everything inside was comfortable and very clean - a nice well-stocked kitchen too! The only thing that could be improved upon would be to replace the outdoor dining table/chairs. Several chairs had broken straps, and the set was overall quite weather beaten. The management company was impressively responsive when we needed help cleaning the furniture on the deck... someone was there within 10 minutes of our call and got everything cleaned up so we could enjoy being outside. Apparently when the grass gets cut, the mower kicks up dirt and dust, which covers the outdoor furniture, which was the case when we arrived, but as mentioned, once we called, the deck furniture was totally cleaned up in less than an hour of our request.Overall, Ocean Dreams is a wonderful place, and we definitely hope to return one day!

The loveliest home with an incredible view. We loved spending time in the back yard playing catch and watching the sunset. One recco is to include blackout curtains in the master bedroom for the lighthouse at night, otherwise this property is perfect and so accessible to both Mendocino and Fort Bragg.

In earlier reviews had complained about furniture in living room by new owners. Well, I want to acknowledge that they were responsive to us and others. They have put 2 new chairs in living room, similar to those in photos. They also have two new sofas to replace older, lower sofas that were there. Very much appreciated!! The living room is now much more comfortable and allows for enjoyment of the GREAT oceans views! Also believe they have added toppers or new mattress to Master bed--it felt more comfortable. This house has a lot to offer and great location.As usual Mendo Preferred and their team did a Great Job! Always a pleasure to deal with.

This was such a perfect house for our family’s trip to Mendocino! Everything about it was great- location, view, kitchen, living room etc. Appreciated comfortable beds, huge kitchen with everything we needed to cook multiple meals at home, and cozy living room with fireplace and Tv. We loved family walks around the neighborhood and evenings watching the ocean below. Would totally rent this again. My only suggestion would be the option of checking in straight at the house and not having to go to the Rental Office in town - it was just an extra 20 minute process after a long day of traveling. But I’m sure the company has their reasons.

Everything was wonderful, the hot tub got it’s usefulness. Sitting on the deck was gorgeous. Right in the center of Downtown Mendocino and Fort Bragg. It would be better with two showers but it all worked out. It would be nice to have blackout curtains. With the lighthouse lights at night shining through. We will Definitely come back. Thank you!

We loved it the first 2 times. The view is just gorgeous and the kitchen modern and deck and hot tub very nice. Location is ideal, close to Mendocino but also to Fort Bragg.
But the new owners have really stripped the place of any character. The couches in the living room which they promised to replace are totally soggy and uncomfortable. There's no decoration or warmth in the room. The back bathrooms need to be remodeled. One is partially remodeled but the only shower in the house is old and unpleasant. The back bathroom is a dinosaur and has terrible lighting and no shower. Bathrooms need to be brought up to date especially as the price almost doubled. We were disappointed this time. I don't know that we will be back. We hoped for some improvements.

The home has an exceptional kitchen. Especially for entertaining! The deep comfy sofas next to the ocean view windows were sublime! Master bedroom view and windows are incredible. The master bath....ummm, not really. So close to the trail head that links you to the Cabrillo Lighthouse. Awesome!!! Just down the block is a trailhead to another beach where there were literally hundreds of Sea Lions and Seals sunning......so amazing. We will definitely be back for another stay!

We continue to enjoy the location directly on the ocean and overlooking the Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse property. From the small residential area it is possible to walk 2 miles of trails along ocean cliffs on the Lighthouse property.The house has a nice kitchen, one full bath, and one half bath that have been remodeled. Other bath has not so only one shower in house. House sold this past year and new owners have elected to remove chairs from living room (leaving only 2 sofas that are VERY low, somewhat uncomfortable, and DIFFICULT to get out of. Also, when chairs were there, they overlooked wonderful ocean view. Now neither sofa looks out at ocean and in fact one blocks view by being in front of window, BUT facing blank wall and front door. (Pictures on rental site currently not correct for living room)This living room change greatly decreased comfort of that room from our previous stays. Three nice bedroomsMendocino Preferred continues to provide EXCELLENT and very professional services throughout the process. Cleaning and maintenance very good.

The home was fantastic and somewhat comfortable. The beds were all very comfortable with good quality pillow top mattresses. The sofa and loveseat were too low to the ground and were impossible to get out of without pushing off from the floor. The view was worth the price of admission! The major downside was that the spa would not heat up to more than your average heated swimming pool. Maybe 85 degrees max, and then it slowly got colder each day until it was completely cold by the time we left on the fourth day. I called the rental agency who in turn called the spa technician but he never came out to fix the heater issue. Other than this and the low-rider sofa/loveseat we all had a fabulous time and look forward to staying there again.

wonderful home for cooking and relaxing in the common areas. outdoor patio space is protected from coast winds, a perfect weekend to enjoy the coast. be aware there are 3 bathrooms, but only one shower. also, this home is across the cove/shoreline from the lighthouse. wooden shutters inside would be helpful at night to block the lighthouse light which was much brighter than imagined.

A beautiful location! The house was SO nice. We loved the kitchen, the living area, the dining room, the unbeatable view, the big beds. Could use bathroom updates as there is only 1 shower on property. Hot tub could be replaced, filter barely working and jets not working but it was hot and circulating and under the stars - WOW. Understand - we shall be back to Mendocino - and hopefully this property. Loved it!!

The appliances are all the best of the best, and the kitchen is fully stocked. There is nothing missing! Staff at Mendocino Preferred was great, and responsive. The bedrooms and bathrooms are not brand-new, but the pictures clearly showed this, so it did not detract from our experience at all. Would definitely recommend a stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family spent 9 nights over Christmas at Ocean Dreams. The house and view are magnificent. The house is between Mendocino and Ft. Bragg, making it very convenient to stores. Hiking trails are close by for nice walks.The kitchen was our gathering place where we could all cook. Outstanding kitchen.I would recommend that the owners install a shade in the master bedroom, as it faces the ocean. The lighthouse light shines directly into the room during the night and afternoon. Management is very responsive. We had a problem that was beyond anyone's control. Management responded as well as possible.I will definitely return to Ocean Dreams - except this time I will stay longer.
