As expressed the room was inline with our expectations for a budget hotel, the rest was a nightmare!

The hotel was in a very central position next door to a good restaurant.

The hotel website mislead us saying that it had parking. It didn't, it relied on street parking which was an absolute nightmare. Had to park a long way off and carry heavy bags in the pouring rain, only to be confronted with a long climb up the stairs which again hadn't been disclosed. The reservation was dependant on responding to an email from the hotel after booking and paying for it. Just by luck we arrived about 60 seconds prior to staff departing, otherwise I think we would have been sleeping in the car. There may have been some clever way of accessing the room via an app, but I would never stay in a hotel that relied on technology to access a room.

The electricity power was on/off for more than 10 times in three hours period from 7pm to 10pm. Which is absolutely unacceptable.

Fab location with very good staff

This is a small hotel in an excellent location. The pleasant rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. Good sized shower. Staff all excellent: very helpful and friendly.

There was an odd noise at intervals during the night. Towels a little aged, but perfectly acceptable.

Good location. Quirky little place.

Central location and so we could walk to all parts of Tours we wished to see. Comfortable bed in adequately sized bedroom. Good shower and spacious cubicle . Pleasant little breakfast room with adequate cold buffet.

Only one dislike. No door on the cupboard in the en suite, housing plumbing, electrics and general services. Not a pretty sight. Other comments. Hotel entrance is just a house front door onto the street so easy to miss. Characterful creaky narrow wooden staircases. 1 flight to reception, Further 2 flights to our room. I'm a fit 74yr old and so could manage. A customer with any physical or health disability would struggle. There is no lift.

The manager was nice and frown but not helpful

Old. Dirty. Unsafe. Smelled. No elevator. No air conditioning. 4the floor walk up on a tiny spiral staircase in the heat. No air! No fans! No AC! The rooms smelled of must and cigarettes!

Small but clean place to stay right next to the train station. Nothing fancy, but comfortable.

Location is right next to the train station we needed to take for the next leg of our trip.There is an excellent restaurant next door owned by owner of hotel. The staff was wonderful-Mack. A nice typical BNB type breakfast.

Room is very small. The entrance hall needs refurbishing. There are little things than can be done to make this place better. Example—the plants outside the window where we had breakfast were dead. Would make it more quaint to see a few flowers there. A Nespresso type coffee machine would be welcome for the early risers.

Very good value, central location

Location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from the central train station/city centre. Room had modern fittings, nice bathroom/shower. Our room was facing an inner courtyard so was quiet. Free Wi-Fi worked ok for us. Staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was good for the price - no cooked food but a choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, pasties, ham & cheese with fresh coffee and juice. All rooms have an electronic key tag which also works on the front door and is very secure/easy to use.

Check-in starts at 5pm and we would have liked to do that a bit earlier. The hotel entrance is an in auspicious single door shared with other businesses. The entrance stairs to the upstairs reception are in the midst of re-decoration, but once inside the rooms/breakfast room are all OK.

The situation

Up six flights of narrow stairs, no lifts and we are elderly this was not mentioned on booking, breakfast room was also the laundry room so very smelly and damp, bathroom door needed two people to open and close it, the WiFi did not reach that floor, parking was street parking and this was not mentioned, air conditioning didn’t work despite being assured it did, someone in room below had music playing very loudly couldn’t open window to help ease stuffiness because air con didn’t work because the street was too noisy. We were offered the room for free but declined, still waiting to hear from booking dot dom for a resolution

Great location and comfortable rooms, otherwise questionable.

Our room was comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. Marc, who seemed to be responsible for everything from reception to cleaning, was marvelous. The location couldn’t have been better.

The public spaces are threadbare, the stairs are steep, and the breakfast, despite Marc’s best efforts, was poor.

Unpleasant experience.

Location. Close to the train station.

Not a 3-star hotel, as claimed. No personnel at the reception desk when we arrived , even after 3pm, the official check-in time as posted on booking. The staff person disappeared after we checked-in and so no help could be found from the hotel. Wifi is unstable, basically we couldn’t use internet in our room.

Hotel Linxa is a great value for a well located, clean, and beautifully decorated boutique hotel.

The hotel is in a convient location, just a few buildings from the tourism office. The building was secure with the room key to open the door from the street and a secondary door to the hotel. The room was quiet and a good size. Everything was clean and well styled. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was good. The best was confortable and the was enough space for the clothes, the desk was nice to leave items at the end of the day. The air conditioning worked well. I did not partake in any meals through the hotel.

My Google maps search for the hotel took me to a building a few streets over, but searching for the restaurant instead led me to hotel. I was looking forward to eating at Le Chien Jaune for lunch the day I arrived, but they were not opened then. Check-in and check-out was a bit disorganized but the staff was helpful.

Hier kom ik met plezier terug

De ligging van het hotel is prima en de kamers zijn oké. Daarnaast toonde Marc, de man van het onthaal, zich een schat van een kerel, die met de glimlach elk probleempje oploste. Al bij al waren de kleine tekortkomingen van het hotel meer dan aanvaardbaar omdat de kamer ook zeer democratisch geprijsd was.

Afwerking in de badkamer was niet helemaal af en de bediening van de verwarming functioneerde niet constant. De handdoeken waren dan wel onberispelijk proper, maar zijn meer dan dringend aan vervanging toe. Het is ook niet evident om de ingang van het hotel te vinden, het naambordje is redelijk klein. Beter zou zijn om te situeren als: linkse deur naast restaurant Le chien jaune.

Hôtel chez un endroit horror

L’hôtel situé à côté de la gare SNCF Chambre simple, basique.

Il n’y a pas de réception à 19,50h …on ne le savait pas malgré les messages envoyés par l’hôtel pour nous dire qu’il faut utiliser un code à l’entrée après 20,30h. Raison pour laquelle, on a appelé la réception en bas à l’entrée de l’hôtel à notre arrivée. Un monsieur du personnel l’hôtel( désolé pour le mot non caucasien ) qui partait de l’hôtel en même temps , nous a mal traité, comme des intrus…en disant « pourquoi on a appelé la sonnerie plusieurs fois ; la réception nous a envoyé le message avec le code d’entrée « . En tout cas, il n’y avait personne à la réception à 19,50 h … la clé de la chambre était dans un panier à la réception . La maltraitance a continué le lendemain au petit déjeuner quand on a croisé la même personne qui nous a agressé encore ( il nous a demandé si on veut une boisson chaude en disant après de manière méchante et agressive qu’on a une machine pour s’en servir…je n’ai pas compris sa question en tout cas c’était évident . Je n’ai jamais vu en France (ni ailleurs )cette attitude du personnel hôtelier qui nous a traumatisé et nous a gâché notre séjour à Tours. Le petit déjeuner est très pauvre et basique . L’hôtel est très mal isolé et notre chambre donnait sur une rue passante ( avec restaurants ouverts à 24h). On entendait très bien aussi les voisins, les gens dans le petit hall et les enfants matinaux qui jouaient le matin dans le hall et les escaliers . Il n’y a pas de chauffage dans la chambre , on a eu strictement du chauffage la nuit dans la salle de bain. On a été mal traités dans cet hôtel de » 3 étoiles …peut être il faut réviser les conditions de fonctionnement de cet hôtel.

Chambre réservée pour 2 nuits, non occupée car départ anticipé pour raisons personnelles graves. Promesse de remboursement par le directeur, qui n'a pas été suivie d'effet malgré mes messages vocaux et écrits; pas de remboursement de Booking qui avait besoin de l'accord de ce monsieur : il n'a pas répondu non plus aux mails de Booking.

L’emplacement proche de la gare, le rapport qualité/prix, le personnel,la superficie de la chambre, le confort de la literie, la bouilloire dans la chambre.

Les escaliers en colimaçon, étroits, et l’absence d’ascenseur. Il n’y avait qu’un sachet de thé et un de camomille avec la bouilloire.

Surtout le manque d' insonorisation : on entend les pas dans les autres chambres , chasses d'eau etc avec il est vrai des clients un peu sans gêne le bruit des voitures et des passants la nuit même avec les volets ,fenêtres fermées : pas dormi ! un matelas trop mou le chauffage mis trés tard dans la soirée malgré notre demande

L'accueil par les employés de l’hôtel était impeccable, gentillesse, présence, spontanéité. La chambre était spacieuse, la literie très confortable, la salle de bain avec peignoir de bain, bouilloire et tisane pour nous accueillir. Tout était parfait, le petit déjeuner copieux avec pain frais et viennoiseries.
