Nice apartment with good location but not for 2 couples

The location was amazing, nice cafe Bar Grill across the bridge with decent price, we enjoyed the free bikes. Living room space was good.

We felt a little misled by the apartment we were given, 'Wetterhorn,' which was on the second floor. As two couples, each with a child, the layout presented a significant issue. There was only one proper bedroom. The second room, while it had a double bed and a TV, had such a low slanting roof that you couldn't even sit up in bed; you had to lie down. This was the only disappointing aspect. We had expected two proper bedrooms, as two couples require adequate wardrobe space in each room, an area to change clothes, and sufficient space to store personal belongings, without having to contend for the 'better' room. This apartment is definitely not suitable for two couples, but would be more appropriate for one family with two or three children.

A unfortunate incident, but overall still ok

It is pretty near the train station, have a well equipped kitchen.

The heater and hot water wasn't working on our 1st night, it is extremely cold. Owner is very responsive and it got fixed next day about 6.30am. As this happen during winter, not heater, no hot water to shower is really a hell for us especially it is the 1st night when we just arrive late in a rainy day having walk from the train station.

The owner is friendly and helpful. The apartment is is 5 mins walk to Grindelwald Grund station and 10 mins to Grindelwald Terminal station. We enjoyed the views from the apartment.

Quiet and Nice Stay in Beautiful town

Wonderful hosts, great communication, very clean and bright accommodations. Close to the Gondola station. We had a car so easy to drive up into the main part of town for restaurants/coffee. The view is beautiful. You can hear the river as you lay down to sleep.

The setting was a little odd, a large parking lot was right in front (for the Gondola station) but it was still very quiet and peaceful.

Hosts were very responsive, but the place is dated and is more appropriate for a family.

Close to the lift

there was not really a 2nd bdrm. Pretty much a closet with a bed in the 2nd bdrm and the double bed that was part of the living area was squeezed into what would have been a storage area where one could not stand up. Not a good place for 2 couples.

Location and facilities were amazing. All required appliances were in place.

The accommodation was in the second floor. Except the private bedroom one bedroom was in a loft-like place! We realised that actually the three names belong to individual accommodation, starting from ground floor! There is no clarity on this.

it’s just Okay

- The location was very convenient for us to go to places nearby. - There was a washing machine, which allowed for us to clean our clothes. - The kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook.

- The wifi connection was very slow at times, till the point that we were unable to access the internet. - The microwave had not been cleaned properly, so it reeked of an odour. - It was very hot especially at night, because there were no fans inside the bedroom.

Very nice flat with attentive host

We were in Wetterhorn, the apartment under the roof. Everything is designed to perfectly use the available space, which under the roof is not easy, very impressive. Lots of light from the roof windows, a skyline above the bath tab, really very well designed. Very well equipped, all possible appliances available, there is even a washing machine with a dryer. We did not need all this, as we were there only for the weekend, but the apartment is perfectly equipped for longer stays. Great view to Eiger from the balcony. Very nice an attentive host, Gudrun kept contact with us all the time, we could leave the suitcase in the building even after we left the apartment. There is place for leaving skis and warmers for ski shoes in a lockable shed outside, will be great in winter. There is a nice restaurant 2 min away, at the station run by a very sweet family. Train, lifts and ski slopes just in front of the door. Going up to "town" Grindelwald is a stiff 20 min walk uphill but there a buses and trains running. Coming back after dinner in no problem, a conformable downhill stroll to digest all that food :-)

The apartment should not be offered for 6 people. There is only one real bedroom, where one could have some privacy, the rest is all connected. The second double bed is in a niche under the roof, great fun for children but nothing for adults. The third "room" is basically a closet with two tiny windows opening to an internal staircase, must get really stuffy at night, I would not put even children in there. The alternative is a sofa bed but it is next to the niche with the second double bed. All in all, it will work perfectly for a bigger family with more that 2 kinds but I would not recommend it for a group of adults.

Nice family apartment, great location

Top location (5 min walking from Terminal, 2 min from Grund). Kitchen well equipped (many kitchen devices including fondue, raclette, table barbecue, rice cooker and others). Kids friendly (2 swings and jacuzzi in the garden, many board games, Lego etc). Washing/drying machine (we didn't use it as we stayed only few days but for a week stay might be very handy).

Wunderbarer Auftenthalt in einer wunderbaren Region

Die Wohnung Wetterhorn ist eine Dachwohnung, was wir sehr geschätzt hatten. Dafür nahmen wir auch gerne die Treppen in Kauf. Die Wohnung ist sehr funktional und praktisch eingerichtet. Für eine Familie mit Kindern fanden wir sie ideal. Hervorzuheben ist auch die perfekte Lage in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Skipiste. In rund 300 m Entfernung erreicht man bequem per Ski das Terminal, von wo man ins Skigebiet Grindelwand/Männlichen gelangt. Der Kontakt zur Besitzerin war stets zuvorkommend und freundlich. Persönlich getroffen hatten wir sie nicht, hingegen wurden Anfragen per Mail oder Whatsapp umgehend beantwortet.

Keine Kritik, lediglich ein Hinweis: Die Wohnung bietet wegen der Raumaufteilung und nur einem vorhandenem Bad/WC wenig Privatsphäre. Falls man mit mehreren Parteien die Wohnung teilen möchte, gilt dies zu beachten. Sie eignet sich deshalb grundsätzlich für einzelne Familien. Ausserdem ist die Wohnung wegen der Stufen nicht barrierefrei und kann für ältere Leute beschwerlich zu erreichen sein.
