The views are spectacular, and the privacy of the home made for a very relaxing stay. We had an issue on check-in day when we didnt realized there was no hot water until 8 in the evening. But the Maintenance man, who was very kind,came out right away to resolve this and it did not put a damper on our stay. I would definitely recommend to anyone, and would even love to stay again one day.

This house doesn’t have heat. The day before our reservation in October, Vacasa property management called to say the heat was out due to critters chewing into the ductwork. They left the impression that it was a recent issue; however, we later checked reviews and saw that others had commented about the heat being out more than a month before our reservation. The property owner should be informing customers well in advance so they can make decisions on cancelling or rebooking elsewhere. At a minimum, it was dishonest to inform me only the day before, which voided any refund provisions in the agreement. While it did get a little cold in the house it was tolerable, thankfully due to warmer fall weather. The bigger issue were those critters that were scratching and clawing beneath the house at the floorboards. It was so loud and disturbing that it kept us awake each night, and I was half expecting to find a family of raccoons in the kitchen in the morning (we didn’t). This isn’t normal; the property owners need to call in exterminators/ wildlife experts to mitigate further damage to the house. This house could be a gem with some maintenance; it is spacious and overlooks the ocean. Huge patio and working hot tub.

This place is really a great location. Ocean views, great weather and good layout of the home. However, so much maintenance needs to be done on this place. The barbecue was so rested it took us a long time to clean it, we received a call that there was no Heating but a nice fireplace and space heaters. No kindling for the fireplace and we burned everything paper and was still unable to get it going. We still had a good time to spite it all. So many burned out bulbs and the kitchen definitely needs more supplies, such as foil, plastic bags or Saran Wrap at the least. Anyway we still had fun despite it all.

Great location. Nice home but...The landscape itself needs some attention overgrown, walkways overgrown. The home can use some attention as well. Alot of mold in the bathroom adjacent to the King room, drawer missing, door missing. Hot tub could use safety railing, all sliders need cleaned much debris in tracks. Ants seem to be making their way in through the dishwasher.

View is outstanding! One of the bathrooms is in poor shape with tub peeling and the bed has major sagging. It sounds like there are mice in the walls or in the ducts. Kitchen is in good shape.

The views were as advertised. Spectacular. The Jacuzzi was in fine working order. Bathrooms were clean. The biggest negative was the second bedroom bed was not suitable for 2 people as the mattress was too soft and caved into the middle when 2 people tried to sleep. It was only usable for 1 person, the the other person had to use the couch. Jody from the management company was very responsive to our request to bring a starter for the stove and bbq.

If you want an incredible view, high ceilings, and a hot tub, this is the place! It was spacious and clean. No, the house isn't ready for an Architectural Digest photo shoot - but that isn't its purpose. It is a vacation rental. So, there are some aesthetics that could be improved but the main thing is that it is functional. And the views are stunning. The deck is huge, and the hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The beds were comfortable and just right (not too firm, not too hard). I have made just a few suggestions to the property management. I would probably give it a 4.5 since there were a few things that need to be fixed. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The views in this rental home are wonderful! So serene. As far as this home itself, it is a great layout for a couple with views from both bedrooms. The home has nice granite counters throughout. There is highway noise, but it is often covered up by the sound of the waves from the sea. It is disappointing that after so many reviewers have complained about the current shape that the home is in, stained carpet, cabinet doors missing, etc., nothing has been improved in years. I would love to return to this home if the owners make improvements. But until then I would not recommend this home to a friend or family.

The pictures of this property, while lovely, don't begin the capture its grandeur. We were stunned to open the door and feel as though we were already on the beach. The layout of the home ensures privacy and exceptional views from both bedrooms. The property is situated on a large lot, creating incredible privacy and serenity. The large back patio area provides ample opportunities to gaze out at crashing waves by day and shining constellations by night. The large back porch provides multiple options for enjoying the vibes, from the hot tub overlooking the water, with towels thoughtfully provided, to a dining set and chaise lounge. We were grateful for the grill and kitchen gear that made cooking from home easy (we didn't want to leave for meals!). One thing to note is we didn't actually find a trail to Cook's Beach. While it's close, walking on the narrow road is dangerous. So, as long as you're driving, go North to Anchor Bay, which is larger and safer, but just as peaceful and gorgeous, as Cook's. Also try to check out the Gualala Arts Center, which has indoor and outdoor exhibits plus lush trails that feel right out if Jurrasic Park. We absolutely cannot wait to return - the experience was worth every dime and we have now, unfortunately, been totally ruined for all other beach houses after experiencing the peace and beauty of Cliff House!

We loved the spacious home and the fantastic views. With the windows open, it was so peaceful to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. Ugh! We loved it and hated having to come back to our regular lives!

For the price. The state of the couch was terrible. Looked like it was taken off a free pile on the side of the road and felt that way too. Gross old and lumpy. The heater was so loud we couldn’t sleep. The light woke us up at 7am sharp- no blackout blinds. Beautiful but holy crap, very bright very early The bathrooms were reminiscent of a best western in need of repair. It really should cost less or be remodeled: it did not look like the pictures. Although it’s hard to beat a view like that.

My husband and I have been going to the Beach House (as it was once known) for many years and have many great memories there. Same quiet, private setting and those amazing views. It used to be so well kept but sadly the house has seen much wear and tear over the years - many things that could and should be repaired or replaced especially given the cost to stay there. It definitely takes away from the whole experience. I had recommended it to friends in the past, but wouldn't do so again, and it's unlikely I would stay there again.

This house is located in a beautiful part of the Northern California coast. The views are absolutely spectacular. There is lots of glass that allow the house to fill with light. We really enjoyed just hanging out on the deck and made full use of the hot tub. At night you can see the stars from bed, it is amazing. This place has so many magical qualities, it is sad to report that the house itself needs quite a bit of work. The two main bathrooms have suffered major water damage, which is gross. The smaller bathroom has molding held together with painter’s blue tape. The floors in the main area are heavily damaged and need to be refinished. The deck and fencing are rotting. The kitchen cooktop does not have the correct grills, so pots don’t sit level. The kitchen is missing a handful of basic utensils, and the microwave was broken. The front door combo doesn’t always work. We spent a lot of time just trying to get into the house. This is such a special house it was sad to see that so many things that have been neglected.

I don't like at night that everyone driving by can see inside the home, and during the day, the sun significantly heats the house. Shades on those windows would be fantastic.

Worst Gualala experience. We stay in the are every 2 month and tried different options. The view is good. That’s only one thing that was good. Beds are old, pillows are nasty(will provide photo), mold in showers, furniture is falling apart. The whole house needs to be refreshed and repaired, all nasty rugs should be thrown away. Protective nets on the slide doors have holes in them. Ants and spiders are everywhere. Next time I will go for a sea ranch stay, it’s always better than this old houses. Never ever again.

The home is well situated on the Cliff to enjoy the ocean slapping against the rocks and shore! We celebrated our Anniversary and will definitely return to experience more. The home is loaded with well insulated windows and many sliding glass doors. The deck wraps around the entire ocean view with a jacuzzi situated just outside the master bedroom 💜

Gorgeous house on a cliff directly upon the ocean. Stunning, open views and very, very private. 5 minute drive to Gualala and the Surf Market. Beautiful kitchen but needs some new kitchen knives and more bowls for families that like to cook at home instead of eating out each meal. There is plenty of new, comfortable patio furniture to sit and enjoy watching the ocean, birds and many whales. We’ve rented many houses along the north coast and I highly recommend this home. We will definitely be returning in the future!

This place is one of the few houses we have ever felt so seriously about going back to. I will get to a few issues, but the panoramic cliffside ocean view is spectacular, and even in the quiet non-migration season, we saw a pod of dolphins cruising through, and multiple sightings of a group of sea lions frolicking about. The house was super comfortable, with tasteful decor and comfy furniture, and the king bed in the master bedroom was really fantastic and seamed new. We were eternally grateful for the non-scented cleaning products and laundry detergent - this one thing can really ruin a place for us, and there was not a trace of scent or air freshener. The hot tub was hot and clean, though small and in ground in the deck, with nothing to help get in access wise. The property manager said that this was scheduled to be replaced in the spring, and that would be an awesome upgrade. The fireplace is huge and lovely, but do note that nothing is provided including matches or any kind of starter chips, kindling, or wood. The property is huge and feels very private, and the deck wraps the whole back of the house (though basically has no furniture). On the negative front, the house is in a little disrepair when it comes to fixtures of various types. The towel rack fell apart when we grabbed a towel from it, a few drawers were off track, a bathroom fixture was missing, and most annoyingly, the shower handle completely fell apart when we turned the shower on in the master bath (which should have been fixed between visitors). Still, the property manager promptly had someone out within hours, and he was able to replace it right away. There were a few other things that need to be added to the kitchen or replaced, but I mentioned that when dealing with the shower, and the manager asked that I provide a list and seemed very open to the feedback. The kitchen equipment on a basic level does not currently match the cost of this rental. Very little needs to be done to this place to make it an absolute 5 star, and we hope to be back!

The rental house is located in a great location, just 1.5 miles north of Gualala. Easy to get any type of food provision in town. The house has a fantastic view of the ocean, lots and lots of windows facing the sea. The house can use some maintenance and they need more outdoor chairs (only two). The kitchen has many of the basic utensils and pots. Good internet connectivity and the TV has many apps available. We would return.

If you are looking for a relaxing, get a way. this property is perfect. The house is beautiful, location couldn't have been better and Vacasa was very helpful. This spot is perfect for star gazing and just watching the water and listening to the waves crash. Definitely recommend.

Spectacular views from every room with waves crashing onto the giant rocky shore. Great privacy with no direct near neighbors. Slept with window open listening to the waves. Visiting one footed seagull daily. Hot tub great! A few small issues: 1.the hand held shower in the tub was inoperable. 2.The front door was not always locking on first or second try. 3. An information booklet would have been nice with restaurants, trails, details on appliances and things to do.4. Larger coffee maker. But with the views....who cares!!!

We’re from San Diego and have been staying at the Cliff House for almost 15 years now. Love the location and the fact that the home was built with exceptional quality from top to bottom. Every little detail was accounted for from the stunning decor right down to the copper rain gutters. Not to mention the hot tub that is still just as nice as it was when we first stayed. The views are amazing but the warmth of the home is just as appealing. No matter what will keep coming back for years to come but it sure would be nice if they could invest a little in upgrades to the deck and outdoor furniture. Maybe replace the webbing in the lounges and chairs or get some new stuff. The deck hasn’t been stained or upgraded in the 15 years we’ve been coming. Really?? Can’t you afford to make it perfect again? Wouldn’t take much. It would be much appreciated!
