I personally loved Captiva Island better than any other beach I have been to and we’ve been to a lot. The house was just as advertised. We had an issue with the air and Kingfisher was there to fix it quickly. The house had everything we needed. Our favorite meal was the Green Flash, which is directly behind the house. We had breakfast there on Sunday and dinner on Wednesday. The gulf beach was a short walk but a golf cart was very handy. There is no parking for golf carts on or near beach so drop offs were necessary. Beaches were not packed, very clean and just wonderful. Saw tons of wildlife while we were there. RC Otters had great food and Boops icecream was a hit. They are definitely still rebuilding but I’m so glad we chose Captiva!!! This is a laid back wonderful but not cheap place. We rented bikes and jet skis from YOLO and took a sunset cruise with Captiva cruises. Everything went very smoothly. The house is huge. The elevator worked properly, which was nice. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. We used the grill one evening and it was nice and clean. They supplied lots of towels and left nice starter packs for dish soap, toilet paper, etc…. It is not a brand new build but overall a very nice house that fit our group of 10 easily. I would definitely stay here again.

This was an amazing location and amazing house! The photos don’t do justice for how much room you have and the elevator really helped with our grandmother going up floors! The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes and the house had an abundance of beach toys and chairs for us all. We would definitely rent here again!

My late husband and I started coming to Sanibel in 1975. We came every year until 2023 because of the damage Ian did. He passed in June 2023. This year we all came back (three kids and their spouses and 5 grandkids 5-11 years old) to honor his memory and give him a water burial according to his wishes. I wanted to find some place we could all stay and enjoy the beach and have a pool too. Since homes on Sanibel are rented by the month only, I looked on Captiva. This is a great location. A short walk to the beach that wasn't overly crowded. A couple restaurants also within walking distance. The Island store for some essentials and our own pool. The kids and parents really enjoyed that covered pool. The kitchen and dining areas were more than adequate, and the two living spaces accommodated both adults and kids at the same time. With the downstairs everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. The beach wagon and beach chairs and beach toys were also great to give everyone a place to sit and things to keep the kids occupied. The only downside was the elevator wasn't working. I know with the damage to so much of the island's rental properties everyone is on waiting lists to get many things repaired. For me especially, at 78 carrying things up and down the stairs was a challenge but we managed. When I called about the slow drain in one of the showers, that was taken care of in a timely manner. All in all a great stay. In 1976 we ate at the Mucky Duck for the first

It didn't really feel like it rose to the standard at which it was advertised. Seemed like an OK place that once held a rental unit, now sort of reconverted to a single residence but fairly inconveniently - had to navigate a small, spiral staircase or go thru the garage to access two of the bedrooms. Lots of unresolved/deferred maintenance issues. One bathroom shower wasn't functional, there were no "hot" tubs when two were advertised (heaters didn't work - so pool temp tub and ambient temperature tub); pool filter malfunctioned (although the response to the call for help was timely); massive leak in sunroom during daily thunderstorms; shower enclosure that wouldn't stay closed; non-functioning exhaust fan in bathroom; REALLY DIRTY carpet in one bedroom. Dishwasher top rack falls off if you pull it out to load/unload it. It's just a bit tired and rundown and, for the cost, we expected a bit more. On the plus side, it was quite roomy with multiple gathering places and comfortable couches. The elevator was a nice plus as we unloaded baby stuff.
