About this house rental
Sandcastle is a solid, stunning house constructed of stone with granite and tiles and dark wood floors. It has been finished to a glorious standard by professional decorators, showcasing furnishings, artwork, and sculpture. Numerous private balconies, terraces with comfortable sofas, seating for cocktails and entertaining space outside; the perfect house for catching up with family and friends. Please note that this property features two bedrooms located outside of the main house. One bedroom is accessed from the second-floor patio, while the other is situated adjacent to the poolside patio.
Sandcastle has enough space for you all to hide away peacefully and still let the kids run around. Just arrange to meet up and dine together at the formal dining table or outside terrace by the fountain! Sandcastle has over 6,000 sq ft of living space, and over 8,000 sq ft if you include the pool, outside kitchen, lanai and balconies.
Sandcastle has a lovely private heated pool and hot tub alongside an outside kitchen and BBQ, set in stunnng gardens. A table tennis table if you're feeling energetic and the beach a very slow 2 minutes walk away; all the great facilities you could wish for, including an elevator, but it is just across the road from the Green Flash restaurant and on the edge of Captiva Village.
Once you've found Sandcastle you may not want to leave.

Sandcastle is a BEAUTIFUL home!!! Very open yet many “pockets” for privacy for a large group. Super short walk to the beach going down the secret path next to the cemetery.

We had a wonderful week at Sandcastle! We were able to walk to the beach in around 5-10 minutes but I would suggest a golf cart or car to get any chairs, coolers, umbrellas, etc to the beach. It’s a bit far to carry a lot of stuff.

My party and I had significant issues, beginning with a broken 3rd floor air conditioner making the top floor (with the 2 largest bedrooms. primary kitchen and Living Room) unbearably hot. I don't wish to provide specifics, but we ended up with an even bigger problem that required us to be re-accommodated to another house during our stay. This issue came to light on Memorial Day, and we were quickly put in touch with someone from Dream Vacation Rentals based in the US that got us into a different house on the same day. I can't say enough good things about how they responded to the issue, though I would have far preferred to never have these issues on a 7 day vacation in the first place.
As it relates to this house specifically, it's nice but dated. It also has an odd layout. 2 of the 7 bedrooms can only be accessed by leaving the main house, and those 2 aren't even connected to each other. It's not a big issue, it's just strange.
Other issues: 1 of the garage doors didn't work. The clothes washer in the garage had moldy towels in it upon our arrival. The pool deck wasn't clean upon arrival. The 3rd floor was 86 degrees. The 2nd floor sink leaked. The 2nd floor ice machine, beach cart, primary refrigerator freezer and ping pong paddles were all broken.
I would not rent this house again, but would be open to renting from Dream Vacation Rentals in the future.
