This property may be okay for young families, but not for us as senior citizens. Unfortunately, the way the vrbo system works, we don't get location details until payment is submitted. As we found out, the "may be a detour" comment from the owner's check-in instructions was actually a main road closure, so we had only one way in and out. Beyond that, the gravel trail leading into the place was partially washed out to the point we felt unsafe, especially if trying to navigate at night. The cabin itself smelled musty and dank, per my wife's sensitivities. For these reasons, we stayed only one night (of 12 nights booked) and advised the owner of the things mentioned above. We have plenty of photos of vrbo wants to see them. Again unfortunately, the owner has chosen profit over customer satisfaction - choosing to keep the entire rental amount, rather than any form of concession. We recognize the vrbo's disclaimer policy when it comes to owner-renter agreements. After six straight years of using vrbo, this year is probably our last.

This is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the lakeview. It is nicely decorated, with a well equipped kitchen. Four women stayed there comfortably. My granddaughters loved the luxurious shower snd the free kayaks. I loved just sitting on the deck, and looking at the peaceful water. Though I live less than an hour away, it was a real vacation for me. We will definitely be back. Granny of Cold Spring,Ky.

Cabin very clean. Having the boat and the kayaks there was definitely a plus. Got my free workout going to and from the lake to the cabin. Nice porch. Very enjoyable. Grandson had plenty of games to play also. Will recommend!

Nice place. Loved the kayaks. A little more humid that I prefer inside, but it was June.

It may seem like you aren't at the right place, or that youre driving thru someone's yard, but once we got to the house, we had the best time. The directions were perfect, and the house was clean, and had everything we needed to have a great trip!

Everything went well. The property is nice. Inside the cottage is nice. Everything went very well. The only thing my wife and l found to be an issue and it may not be for other people but going in and out of the driveway it’s a big challenge and we did not look forward to it every time we had to go out and come back. Otherwise, it was a really nice stay on the property.

We enjoyed our time on the back porch overlooking the lake in the evenings. We watched the beavers swimming around the dock as well as the herring and rabbits. Very relaxing after a busy day at the Ark.

Really cute place but could use a little TLC. There's a little book for visitors to write in, their experience about their stay, and going back as far as 2022 the SAME complaints are still being written. Mainly the master bedroom mattress, and the TV in the living room needs to be replaced. Could just put bedroom TV In living room... easy fix. I mean, you're probably not visiting to watch TV, but we stayed a week and so enjoy movies at night. Also, the dogs barking... all around you! Pretty much every morning. NOT the owners fault, but really sucks trying to enjoy the peace and quiet that they are shooting for here. For the amount we paid for the week, these things corrected would have made our review a five star!I could go on with more trivial changes but I won't. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the visits from one of the resident dogs named Roxy was a bit annoying at first, but we quickly realized she was very sweet and just wanted to chill with us!Kayaking was fun and we did a little fishing but didn't catch anything. Porch was nice to sit on and just take in the beauty of it all, until the barking starts lolOh and the dead tree kind of blocks an open view of the water... cut it down!Over all, really nice experience and Chris was BEYOND gracious and kind.

Lake house was clean and cozy. Supplied with things that you didn't realize that you forgot. Very peaceful and quiet. Right on the lake, which had great fishing. While fishing one night, three beavers swam right past me. Saw otters playing twice. Just a quiet, peaceful, great fishing place.

Pros: -The lake house was in a very scenic spot right on the lake, with use of kayaks included. My kids had a wonderful time kayaking and fishing. -The beds were comfortable.-The owner was nice and communicated well.-The shower had a nice shower head and plenty of hot water. Cons:-The house desperately needs some updating.-The carpet was dirty and felt clammy to the touch. Bring house slippers if staying here.-The sheets on the larger bed were dirty and had very clearly not been changed from the previous guests, which unfortunately we didn’t discover until the next morning. Thankfully, the owner was very apologetic and changed the sheets while we were out for the afternoon.-Only one of the cooking pans was in good of shape enough to use. The place could use a couple more new ones. -When my kids were kayaking near the side of the lake, some people began target practice (with guns) very close to where they were. We wouldn’t stay here again due to the issues we encountered, but the place was in a truly beautiful little setting and the owner seemed nice.

This place is the perfect location with a large porch overlooking a lake. The view, including the wildlife, trees, etc., is a wonderful escape from all of the noise and busy pace of the city.

The stay was ok for our family. Outside needs TLC. Example porch had chipped paint everywhere and stringed lanterns had lights burned out. Equipment was very used and weathered. Needed replacing. Road to property needed maintenance and properties around cabin were run down. Also turned on ancient heater in living room and bugs kept flying out. My fussy 65 year old mother was not comfortable. The rest of us thought it was OK.

We were pleased with the privacy, how you provided map of the lake and easy access to kayaks. The huge yard with lots of seating was a plus, I was able to watch grandson roam and explore. Chris had good communication and available by phone. The Bonus was the early check-in, this is a selling point. No waiting around when your family is ready to rest. Thank you Chris and we'll see you again.EARLY check-in was the BONUS

We had a great time!! Listing is 100% accurate! Clean and cozy! Beautiful location! Plenty of dock space for fishing and we loved that the cabin came with kayaks! My daughter fell in love with the chess set, now I have to find one just like it to purchase 😆 We would definitely book this cabin again in the future.

This was a wonderful quiet get away! The driveway to get in was a bit tricky, but doable. Nice clean cabin. Lots of extra blankets, pillows , and towels.

Comfy cottage. Secluded setting with very little activity on the lake. Close enough to towns if you want to go out for a meal or pickup a few things. Only left the cottage 3 times in a week long stay as kayaking, fishing, campfires, and porch-sitting were exactly what we all needed.

We enjoyed our stay in the lake house. It was clean and the perfect amount of space for us and our two children. The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed fishing and kayaking. Host's were very responsive.

This was an awesome place to stay and relax between seeing the Ark and Creation museum. My kids and I loved to fish and they enjoyed the kayaking.

We enjoyed our stay. The lake was very nice and peaceful. It was great having the kayaks available to use and enough for everyone in our family of 5. The house was small and a little older but was clean and cozy. We loved the porch and spent a lot of time there or kayaking. I personally could have used a little more cook wear in the kitchen, but we primarily cook rather than eating out. Overall we would stay here again if in the area.

The house is cute and had everything you needed. My only issue was the bedroom TV was very difficult to manage with having to deal with an app. It didn’t end up working so we really weren’t able to use it at all. Everything was great.

We loved the place. Perfect size for 5 people. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Outside is amazing. The lake is so peaceful and beautiful. We loved the kayaks. They were easy to get in and out of the lake. You can see all the stars at night. We made a fire by the lake. We saw all kinds of animals. Lots of bunnies. The neighbor's dog visited and was so playful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

This was one of my favorite stays away from home. The place was full of rustic charm and hospitality while providing a beautiful scenery, a relaxing atmosphere, and fun and adventure right in your own front yard. A great little getaway, and yet close to many day trip adventures. This questionnaire may have only received 4/5 stars due to the questions asked, but my actual stay receives 5/5 stars… it was just what we needed!

The boys loved the dock. The husband enjoyed going out back to fish. The wife loved the beautiful view. Even though cabin was small, it worked well for the four of us. Wished there would’ve been a washer & dryer. But the local laundry mat was very nice!! Also wished there would have been extra towels to dry off from being in the lake. Overall, great, relaxing time!!

Your cottage was lovely. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming and the quiet vibe of the area. If you are looking for quiet and relaxation- this is the spot for you.
The hill is a little steep, so if you have physical limitations- this may be an issue for you.
The lake bottom is rocky (kids wore crocs and were fine) and gets deep quick (could be an issue for little ones)- but over all, the lake was clean and quiet and so nice not having to deal with big motor boats.
fantastic for a long weekend.
the porch and the view were AMAZING!

We enjoyed our stay. We spent most of our time on the porch looking at the lake and watching wildlife. It was very relaxing and peaceful. The cabin is old but overall has been well maintained. The gravel road getting to the cabin could be tricky for low profile cars. We had a truck and had no issues.

We stayed at the lake house while visiting the Creation Museum and the Ark. Brought my kids, wife, and mom. We enjoyed our stay! We kayaked, built a fire, and caught lightening bugs! Great memories were made here!

Landers Lakehouse is a very quiet and peaceful getaway. My only issue was the dog that was always around. We couldn’t eat outside as planned as the dog was always wanting food.
Other then that very peaceful and relaxing.

Overall our stay was great. Just when i took a shower i almost fell the mat that was in the shower had something slimy on it. And the grill wasnt clean but the utensils inside of it was clean. So we had to clean it before using it. And the microwave went out when we plugged up the lights on the porch. So we went the whole night without it which was inconvenient because i dont eat until late night.

A great place to stay. Beautiful location on the lake. Lots to do in the area

The back patio was fantastic. The only exception is there is no safety railing. It's a decent size Hill to fall off from the patio. I do not recommend for older adults or younger children. The house itself was clean and nice. The bathroom desperately needs upgrades and a really good cleaning. Even a new shower curtain would help. The lake and the fire pit are quite a walk. We are older ladies that got together for a girls weekend and nobody could make it down to the beach or to the fire pit. We really didn't mind as we so enjoyed the back porch! The scenery is beautiful. A very well needed and relaxing weekend. The road there is very tricky. This is not the owner's fault but there's a washout gully that is very hard to navigate. Parking was ample. Kitchen was very well stocked. They had everything we needed and more. The grill could definitely use a really good cleaning. It appeared they had a fish cleaning station but that also needs a good cleaning. All in all we did enjoy our stay. Owners communicated very well. I guess my only complaint would be the safety issues with the back porch, and upgraded bathroom desperately needed, and too much of a hill to get to the lake or the fire pit for us "gray hairs" but we all still enjoyed the stay
