Sunny South Mission Vacation House - Dover Court

The location was excellent! Very close to the beach, and a short ride from Pacific Beach, where there are lots of restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed the from patio. The only problem was that the umbrella didn't work.

We have stayed at this property a number of times. It is always prepared as presented and there are no surprises. We enjoy the location; very close to the ocean, quiet, but close to the main activities of Mission Beach.

What a great place we loved every minute of it

Stayed for ten days mid April 2026. Decent location in lower Misson Beach close to beach but far enough away from Belmont not to hear the nightlife. The property however is right under the airplane take-off paths so it’s quite noisy all day (there are no flights from 11pm-6am due to a San Diego bylaw). Was nice to have an outdoor porch and grill but the patio umbrella crank didn’t work and there was nothing to hold up the umbrella. The beach chairs were also old and in poor shape. Inside needs some serious TLC! I was very disappointed in the condition of the unit. The kitchen sinks smelled horrible upon arrival. We used a portable air purifier we brought. I’m not sure when the last time was that the unit had a good cleaning. The carpets have numerous stains and were absolutely filthy. The carpet under the raised platform bed had wrappers and dirt. There was mold on the bathroom walls and the overall condition of the bathroom was poor. The kitchen appliances worked well but the cupboards were so cluttered with very basic, plastic items that were disorganized and low budget. Garbage can lid was broken and wouldn’t stay on. The cushions in the living room area had holes in them which meant feathers were everywhere if you used them. The bedroom is very bright even with blinds closed at night so some blackout curtains would be helpful. Having a garage was nice however it is only deep enough to fit a small vehicle (not a mid size SUV or car). Wouldn’t recommend.
