Clean, tidy, cozy. Great communication from the hosts. Chocolates on table and milk in the fridge upon arrival. Free parking.

The only slight downside was the number of steps up to the property, but it did mean there were some fab views!

2 night stay in Barmouth October 2025

Clean, comfortable, well-equipped with fantastic views across Barmouth estuary. It was a lovely place to stay and we will definitely return.

Cosy hideaway in Barmouth

This property is in a central location (quite a few steps to get to it) with good views over Barmouth. It's quite cosy but big enough for two, and it has a bath! All in all, for the price, this is a great choice if you don't want to eat out every night.

Some limited noise from the flat above, but that is mentioned and wasn't bothersome. Could have done with some basics like salt, pepper, vinegar etc.... Otherwise well equipped.

Relaxing with a fabulous view.

Welcoming, very clean and comfortable. Best use made of a small place. Great views. Good info provided by hosts, and very lovely to find fresh milk/biscuit/chocolates waiting for us after our long journey.

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location. Views were stunning. Very clean and well equipped with lots of home comforts. Bed was very comfortable. The bath was gorgeous! Really helpful hosts, who definitely go the extra mile. Helped with a special request, and the chocolates went down a treat, thank you! The steps are definitely not as bad as some reviews suggest 😊

Fantastic!

An absolutely wonderful stay at Penbryn 2. There's everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay in Barmouth and in such a central location. I was blessed with great weather, but the accommodation is very cosy to return to if that's not the case. The sofa and bed are both very comfortable, there's a wonderful bath and a nice hot shower. Basically all the comforts you could need. I recommend the Barmouth Bar & Grill which is situated at the bottom of the steps to the accommodation. The food is great, a varied menu and not cramped like some pubs are, (great for those of us with dogs who don't enjoy being up close and personal with other canines!). Thanks to Steve, Julie and Roland for another wonderful stay, (also the chocolates!).

Amazing weekend

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed for a wonderfully relaxing weekend away. The bed was so comfortable so we definitely had a good night's sleep. The kitchen contained everything needed and we appreciated the fresh milk and the box of chocolates which only lasted an hour! There are quite a few steps but we were aware of this and had no issues! The view from the cottage was gorgeous. Overall we had a fabulous weekend and have even booked again for my partners birthday in july! Many thanks Lynsey and Richard.

Perfect relaxing get away for a couple

It was a great location and perfect for a two night break for a couple. It was great to have a fully functional kitchen and the lounge area was cosy and comfortable. Easy to collect the key and the free parking in the main car park with the pass was so useful as we left the car there all weekend and walked every where. Communication by the hosts was friendly and they gave really useful advice on the area

I travel to Barmouth once a month and have always stayed in guest houses until this visit, the ability to actually buy and cook real food was fantastic, having the whole apartment to myself was amazing and made this journey much more enjoyable than previous ones, especially sinking into a bubble bath after 10 hour's of travelling on trains! the property is well appointed with everything I needed for the weekend, the welcome note and box of chocolates from the host were a lovely touch along with the pint of milk waiting in the fridge. Very happy that I've managed to secure this property again for my visit in November 😁

Only thing that might be an issue for some people (but wasn't for me) is the lack of street lighting on the steps/walk up to the property, its not in the hosts control but for those who might be arriving later or been out for the evening it's something to be prepared for
