We had an excellent stay at this charming and sophisticated property. As other reviewers have noted, the location is fabulous for exploring the area of the Loire near Amboise. The house is a beautifully renovated historic outbuilding on a large estate; the property was very well equipped with thoughtful attention given to every detail. But most importantly, the owners are exceptional hosts, and they went "over and above" to ensure that we had a satisfying and comfortable stay. We highly recommend this lovely home in a stunning location.

Very high quality of fixtures and fittings in a splendid barn conversion - absolutely delightful! The location is splendid, surrounded by vineyards which you can walk around, and a delightful garden. Very handy for exploration of the Loire Valley, its towns and chateaux, and of course wineries. The hosts, Francine and Claude, could not be more friendly and welcoming. Usually living in the main house next door, they were away for much of the time that we stayed, but support is available if needed - we didn’t. There are a few internal steps to the ground-floor bedroom, so may not suit from an accessibility point of view if that were an issue. Otherwise - perfect. And the wine from surrounding vines is superb!

My daughter and her husband loved the Aquarium and the zoo.

Wonderful stay in a luxurious beautiful property. Very well equipped As others have said, the photos don’t do it justice. Francine and Claude are so charming and welcoming, always available if needed. We loved the tomatoes from the garden, the flowers and jam, thank you Jacky! And of course the wine. Great area for cycling, and lots to see and do within less than an hour. Highly recommend.

Amazing property in a vineyard. Francine and Claude are very welcoming and friendly. They gave lots of helpful suggestions for activities. The cottage has everything you need, great kitchen, bedroom and living spaces. We stayed for five nights and it was not enough. I look forward to staying again sometime! Thank you Francine and Claude!!

It was a privilege to stay at the clos. The property is a beautifully managed winery and the hosts are very warm and welcoming. They live on the estate and graciously share their knowlege. Our only suggestions would be some fans or dehumidifier for use when it is very hot. While the home stays cool if the doors are closed, it also gets damp since it is stone. Many thanks to Claude and Francine for their hospitality.

I couldn’t imagine a better place to stay in the Loire for a family of 4. The house is a perfect mix historic but with modern updates. Very comfortable and well appointed. The design decisions were thoughtfully made. Beautiful windows and doors and amazing views. Claude and Francine were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. It was the highlight of our trip to France.

We had a lovely greeting by the hosts when we arrived at this beautifully restored house. They personally showed us around, and made sure we felt at home before leaving us. They live in the house nearby but this was not a problem as they left us to it, and we were able to roam freely and explore the grounds. They were splendid hosts! We were very fortunate with the weather and so got to fully appreciate the garden and loungers, eating outside and relaxing. There is a great supermarket 3km away which served all our needs. 5 mins walk there is also a small village store, and a restaurant/bar which served great food which was very good value. There is a hotel within walking distance which also has a restaurant but we chose not to go there as ate in most of the time. The house itself has everything you need, and is decorated to a very high standard. 3 comfortable large beds, great bathrooms, plenty of reading material and wifi.

This is a brilliant property. It’s an old vineyard house, stylishly converted and very well equipped. The description and photos are accurate. There is a lovely garden in front with chairs and loungers, which sadly we were unable to use because of the persistent rain. Claude and Francine are the best of hosts, welcoming, friendly but discreet.
All in all, a great choice for a week in the Loire Valley

As a family we stayed at the end of August. The property was easily the best rental cottage we have ever stayed in. Very roomy and fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality. We loved the outdoor electric grill plate on the terrace which we have never used before, so much cleaner than a barbecue. As we have a daughter who is slightly autistic and also has Type 1 diabetes we always try and find good quality accommodation as we tend to spend more time there than other families might do as we often have to limit our days out if our daughter gets tired and this property fitted our needs perfectly.
Our hosts Francine and Claude were marvellous and very helpful to me when on day 1 I had an issue with my car and thought I needed a garage. Claude accompanied me to the garage and was able to communicate with them for me as my French is non-existent !! I was very thankful for the time they gave to help me. They both speak quite good English so we were able to converse perfectly fine.
If I have one suggestion for those staying here who are English speaking, there is a satellite TV box but it only has a couple of English speaking news channels available, BBC World and Sky News International. The TV is not a smart TV so as a suggestion for future travellers it might be wise to bring a dongle such as a Firestick or Chromecast that you may be able to access your streaming services via the good wi-fi at the premises. We had DVD's we brought so used the DVD Player for entertainment.

This lovely property completely lived up to expectation and was even bigger upstairs than the photos suggest. We really enjoyed the garden and view (shady when needed) especially the birds, including redstarts and barn owls. The village is very handy and we made good use of the grocery shop (fresh bread) and the cafe which was excellent value for morning coffee or traditional lunch. Many places to visit nearby whether by bike or in the car, however we were quite content to enjoy the surroundings from the garden. Thank you.

Everything was fabulous! Great, friendly and welcoming hosts, and perfect setting for a relaxing week in the Loire. Thank you so much Claude and Francine for welcoming us to your home so generously. Great location for exploring the Loire valley, main challenge was pulling ourselves away from the patio view every morning. House was perfect, with everything you could possibly need!
Thank you!

The property was ideal for our trip - bigger than it appears on the photos, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The garden was a delightful place to relax and our hosts were friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive.
The location of the property was excellent with two restaurants and a small shop within walking distance.
There is also lots to discover in the wider area - gardens, chateaux, markets and restaurants....

We had a short (too short) one week stay in this property. The setting is beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing, in the middle of the vineyards. The property was very tastefully restored, and the inside is mixing touches of the past and many contemporary upgrades. Yet, it is just minutes away from the charming flare of Amboise, and from the bustling Tours. Well located if one wants to go to Chambord (1 hour drive), or Chenonceau (30 minutes). The owners are very friendly, and ready to help and provide some recommendations. We had a lovely time. Definitely a place to come back to.

Absolutely perfect in every way! Where to begin.... inside the pink rose wrapped house was everything you could ask for, comfortable and cool, much bigger than the photos suggest. The sunfilled garden was beautiful, plenty of furniture from which to enjoy the magical views and relax after cycling. Claude and Francine are perfect hosts..... thank you again!!

There aren’t enough superlatives to adequately describe Le Clos de Venise. As inspiring as the photographs are, they cannot convey the warmth and welcome of the owners, Claude and Francine and their caretakers, Michèle and Jacky. It’s not surprising that all of the reviews offer 5 stars. They cover most everything one can say about this exceptional property and our party of five (4 adults and a toddler) echo all the glowing comments.
It's the little things that made our stay so memorable.
• Watching the delight on our granddaughter’s face as she ran out to greet the sheep in the gardens every day.
• Walking the acres of vineyards and gardens and pathways so quintessentially French.
• Hiking, running, and bike-riding through endless vineyards and beautiful roads winding through surrounding towns.
• Appreciating the splendor of the trellised roses as they burst into bloom during our two-week stay.
• Enjoying dinners on the patio with our family while being serenaded by cuckoo birds.
• Learning how to queue up for morning baguettes at L’Epicerie.
• Buying far too many olives at the Friday and Sunday farmer’s markets in Amboise.
• Appreciating the bottle of Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups Vin de France “Venise” left for us so much as to immediately head to Montlouis-Sur-Loire for a tasting and a case of their offerings.
• Spending time with Francine and Claude and Michèle and Jacky over some wine and hors d'oeuvres and a roaring fire while seeing pictures of the before and after of the guest house and marveling at what a spectacular transformation it had undergone.
All of the joys and activities we were so privileged to experience were enhanced so perfectly by our home in France. Clos de Venise brought charm and enchantment, peace, and a sense of romance to our cherished two weeks in France. Thank you Claude and Francine for sharing your home with us.

Claude and Francine, the owners of Clos de Venise, have done an outstanding job restoring this lovely property situated above the village of Noizay, conveniently located in the heart of the Loire Valley. The property includes a vineyard that produces an outstanding Bourgueil. The farm below has an extensive vegetable garden and a field with friendly animals.
The guest house is done in a comfortable contemporary style with high ceilings and lots of light. Doors open onto a lovely patio with a panoramic view.
Our hosts could not have be more hospitable and helpful.
Their loving care and tasteful touches are found all around.
C’est magnifique!

Photos and description are accurate but arriving and feeling the house surround you cannot be captured on line. Exceptional quality and great value. Kudos to Claude and Francine for an expedited welcome and run through. Well equipped and we loved the Vouvray. Special mention to Myriam for wine tour at estate Alaine Robert for an informative wine tour and tasting with regional specialties.

amazing place - very friendly and helpful owners; we thought that the place is even better than what the pictures show - quite large, too.

If it had been possible to stay longer, then this would have been great. It is the best holiday location ever. The place was impeccable, very friendly welcome, accessible yet respectful of our privacy. Fresh vegetables from the garden, even suggestions for recipes and it was just delightful! And great views from the house and garden unto the valley!

A beautiful home in a great location, made even better by the hosts who did everything they could to welcome us, including going out of their way to fit stair gates for our toddlers. The pictures don’t do the place justice as little things like top quality appliances really set it apart from other properties we have stayed at.

Fantastic property in a great location for exploring the beautiful Loire Valley
The six of us were over the moon with Le Clos de Venise. From the moment we arrived at this stunning gîte on the estate of Claude & Francine Bobet’s vineyard we loved every minute. Our hosts were there on our arrival to give us a comprehensive tour of the property which exceeded our expectations. It is even more beautiful than the photos show. The interior has been very tastefully furnished with everything we could possibly need in the fully equipped kitchen and lounge area. The bedrooms were great and each had their own shower room. One is located downstairs, where there is also a separate toilet, and the other two upstairs, with a toilet on the landing to be shared. Our only tiny criticism is that it would have been nice to have had a toilet for each bedroom.
The walls of the gîte are of very thick stone, so even in the very hot weather we experienced during our stay, we were lovely and cool inside. The tranquil location made for a very relaxing and restful week and we all slept very well. The village of Noizay is an ideal centre from which to visit the local town of Amboise and the chateau there. We also visited several other chateaux within easy reach of Noizay plus the larger city of Tours, There is a small village shop just minutes away for fresh bread and croissants and also a Super U around 3 Kms down the road for a larger shop and fuel. Claude & Francine were so kind and a very hospitable couple. They were always on hand if we needed anything and even presented us with some wine on our arrival. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Clos de Venise and we would certainly return. Thank you Claude and Francine.

Exceptional in every sense
Our stay was more than we could ever imagine! We appreciated everything from Claude and Francine’s warm hospitality to staying in a newly renovated cottage situated in a vineyard (yes, just like in a movie!), and central to all the attractions you visit the region for. The clarity of communication during reservation, prior to our arrival and throughout our stay was exemplary. We felt we visited a family, and are planning to return soon. Many thanks!

Can’t get back here soon enough!
Clean and Spacious, Peaceful, Gorgeous, Phenomenal hosts!
Although the listing pictures are amazing, they do nothing to really convey the calm and beauty that Le Clos de Venise provides. In addition to the beautiful property and proximity to many of the areas attractions, the hosts, Francine, Claude, Michelle and her husband were the kindest, most generous and lovely people. Our only regret is not having our French down well enough to sit and visit with them more over a glass of wonderful wine they shared with us. We will be back again!

Beautiful property in a wonderful vineyard location
Claude and Francine are extremely friendly and helpful hosts. They also gave us a fascinating tour of their vineyard and cave, with a tasting of their white wines! The property has been superbly renovated and provides a large open living area, retaining the character and charm of the original building. We spent time in the garden which has amazing views over the vineyard and Noizay towards the Loire. It is a few minutes walk to the village to buy the fresh baguettes each morning.
It is easy to visit the town of Amboise and other Loire chateaux.
We had a great 2 weeks and fully intend to return soon!

Perfect for a family holiday!
Francine and Claude were perfect hosts, even providing toys for our 3 and 5 year old.
They knew we would be hosting a family dinner for the holidays with family who lived nearby and provided us with all the necessary tableware. They even decorated! The property is gorgeous and a short ride from Tours. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay, it was above and beyond expectations!

We visited Le Clos de Venise 4 years ago and decided to come this year back to celebrate our wedding anniversary as we love the place and its gracious and kind hostesses Francine and Claude.
It felt like coming home again. We can warmly recommend the accommodation to anyone.
Despite the ongoing struggle with Covid and its variants, we knew we would feel safe here as it is away from the main village road and therefore away from people but not too far so you still feel like part of the community: with the funny church bells ringing unusual amount times (not in the night time) and in the mornings if you listen carefully you can hear a rooster crow in the distance.
What we also liked when visiting the Epicerie (walking distance) the Boulangerie or the Boucherie (both in Vernou) is that only one person or a couple is allowed in with a mask on and the rest of the people wait outside with masks and social distancing and everyone wears a mask in supermarkets. All this makes you feel safer during your vacation.
We loved our stay and this time had also wonderfully clear skies and sunshine everyday with temperatures soaring to above+30.
We will surely come back again one day.

We loved our stay in Noizay at beautiful Clos de Venise. The house and property were a dream and even more beautiful than the pictures on the website! The owners were so kind and helpful. We honestly could not have imagined a more perfect house for our small family.

Beautiful house in idyllic setting
We have recently returned to the UK, having spent a wonderful week at Clos De Venise.
As other reviewers have already said, the house looks even better than the photographs.
Francine and Claude have renovated the property to a very high standard.
It was comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean, as well as being beautifully presented.
We were greeted on arrival by Francine and Claude, who ensured that we were settled in and gave us very good recommendations for restaurants, tourist attractions and local markets. They were also generous in giving us wine and grapes from their vineyard and other homegrown produce.
The house is situated in a small village with a local grocery store, from where we were able to buy freshly baked bread and croissants each day. It is also a short drive to Amboise, a beautiful town, with lots of shops and restaurants plus a bi-weekly market.
The house is perfectly situated to travel to many of the chateaus in the area and visit local vineyards for wine tasting.
We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the lawn with a glass of wine in the later afternoon taking in the view.
We would definitely recommend this lovely house to anyone planning to holiday in the Loire Valley.

Beautiful location and lovely hosts
Clos de Veinse is a charming, 18th-century property in the small village of Noizay. It's on the grounds of a larger house, which is owned by the hosts Claude and Francine. It was, in fact, the dog kennel and has been beautifully restored to create a spacious and comfortable three-bed accommodation.

Delightful house, stylish and comfortable, in a great location
The cottage has been designed, refurbished and maintained to a very high standard - even better than the pictures show. Very comfortable and cosy, even in Nov/Dec. The setting is idyllic and the general locality perfect for a visit to the Loire and chateaux, with a good choice of restaurants in Amboise and nearby. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. Totally deserving of it's exceptional rating, we had a truly memorable and a most enjoyable holiday. Thank you!

This was the perfect location for our Loire Valley holiday. We did a lot of research to find a great location near to a number of chateaux and kept coming back to this property on our shortlist. The booking process was so straightforward and the information about the property was really detailed and very accurate. When we arrived we weren’t disappointed - it is even better than the photos!! Located in a beautiful little village, with a grocery store a five minute walk away and a convenient supermarket five minutes away in the car, as well as close to Amboise and Tours.Francine and Claude were the perfect hosts, very welcoming and on hand to show us round the property when we arrived. The property has been converted to such a high standard, well equipped and extremely spacious and kept cool during a warm week. There were three great-sized bedrooms, each with it’s own bathroom and separate toilets. The kitchen has everything you need - very well-equipped!We visited a number of chateaux during our week’s stay - Chenonceaux, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Chambord and Usse - the furthest no more than 40 minutes away. We also visited the local aquarium which was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a really warm day. We visited Amboise for the huge Sunday market and had a mooch around Tours on another day - both of which are lovely towns. All in all this was just perfect and thank you Francine and Claude for your generosity and kind hospitality!!
