The apartment was great, we had enough space for the 4 of us, centrally located and with all we needed handy. The communication with host was excellent from the beginning.Just be aware, If you are a light sleeper think about it, since the apartment is located in one of the main streets with bars, cafés, restaurants and stores, which are usually open until late or early in the morning. This will happen with any property located in the city centre, so if you don't like the noise you will need to look outside the main town.

Excellent location, would have loved a balcony but managed well without.

We had a wonderful stay. It was clean, spacious and convenient to everything.

The location of this unit couldn’t be more convenient, but for that reason, it’s almost never quiet. Restaurants out the bedroom window had guests past midnight and street noise till 2am. And by 6am, vendors are rolling their carts through town and beginning to set up their shops. We had to time our arrival to meet someone to check in, which is always stressful. And we were given no specific info about where to park, etc. I think that some hosts need more guidance to properly manage the access and check in process, especially when the location has some unique access and driving rules. The big surprise is that there is no living room. We were surprised to find that this 3-bedroom unit had no common space to sit apart from the kitchen table.

The location of this property is fantastic, it is also very clean. The host met us at the location for check in, but there were no other check-in instructions and spotty reception made it difficult to communicate. This is a good place to stay if you plan on being out exploring a lot, and just sleeping in your accommodation at night. The living room is too small for groups to spend time in.

Upon selecting this VRBO we contacted the host to find out about parking our car. She assured me that there was parking but once we arrived, she could not assist us to get to the parking lot. Nor did she tell us we could not drive down the street at the end of Via Roma so we could load our suitcases. It cost us 65Euro for that mistake. We found the property dirty, the washing machine so rusted and mold inside that we could not use it, the stove, cups and pans were dirty. The bathroom had towels with stains on them. We could not get the TV to work. Everything was unplugged. Other than the apartment being in a wonderful location, there is nothing good about this accommodation.

This was a lovely spot in a lovely area. Great size for our party of 6.

Overall the property was good. It was clean. Giovanna was responsive and timely. The property is in a great location to get to the hiking trail, beach and to catch a train or ferry. There are lots of restaurants and shops right outside the door. We were dropped off by car. It’s an easy 3 minute walk from the drop off. The downside to the location is the noise. Being so close to restaurants and shops brings people late in the evening and early in the morning. There are also trucks with supplies coming past the apartment early in the morning. Lastly, there is no common space to sit and relax together.

Giovanna welcomed us into her home and her community. CT is a tourist’s dream but step outside of town and take advantage of all five villages and the trails to explore them. Monterossa is the northernmost of them and a luscious locale from which to enjoy it all. And the unit we had was right in the heart of it all

A really lovely stay in a very sweet apartment right in the heart of Monterosso, within a five minute walk to the beach. It does get very loud at night due to the central location so do pack ear buds! We couldn’t get the air con working in a couple of rooms but it was there and available. Giovanna was really helpful and hospitable.

The apartment is near the center of old town, surrounded by restaurants, shops (the Basil Lab!), and tourist stuff. It's an easy stroll to the beach, the train, and (especially recommended) the ferry between the Cinque Terra towns. The internal space is excellent: three bedrooms, two baths, a decently furnished kitchen, even a small washing machine (although no separate living room area).
The upside of the location is also the downside. Because you're right in the middle of the old town, there's a fair amount of noise from nearby bars and restaurants into the night and from moving dumpsters and garbage clean-up in the early morning. Also, during our visit in early June 2023 several of the best-known hiking trails along the coast were closed for repairs--so that's something to check if you are headed this way. We still had a great few days exploring the little town, riding the ferries, and getting some beach and swim time.

This is a wonderful and convenient place to stay in Cinque Terre - in the historic area of Monterosso Al Mare. Amazing restaurants nearby and a convenient location if you plan to hike to Vernazza, take a sunset cruise or go to the beach. Communication with Giovanna was easy and prompt. She was generous and flexible in supporting our arrival and departure times. Would absolutely stay there again!

We stayed in this guest house and it was a great deal for a big family. The location is excellent and there’s only one level of stairs to get to the apartment. Check in was very easy. It’s a simple apartment, but gets the job done for a great location!

We really enjoyed staying in the Italian apartment. It was in the center of all the activity (of course that means you can hear the activity). Monterossa was lovely. I would like to note that there isn't a main gathering area. Only the kitchen. It worked for us since we were out during the day and having dinner at night.

Nice place to stay
The space was located in the middle of town. While it is a little noisy it is worth the convenience. It was very close to the beach and great restaurants.

Perfect location!
Giovanni was very welcoming and communication was easy. The property was fine for 3 couples; however, there is no common space except for the kitchen. The street is noisy, so I would recommend ear plugs or a noise machine.

Owner fixed issues reported by others
The comments from others about the set-up are accurate. It's 2 bedrooms with large beds, one bedroom with 2 twins, and a kitchen with small sitting area at the table. We found it comfortable for 4 plus a baby, and gathered around the table at night to talk about our day and review pictures, etc. Two concerns noted in earlier reviews have been addressed: the unit now has its own WIFI, and they also provided a 2nd key. Very responsive owner who, after a miscommunication about the age of our infant, located a bassinet in minutes. Biggest downside for us was the glass inlaid doors to the bedrooms and bathroom. Not a lot of privacy and the motion activiated light in the hall is very bright and shines through the glass into one of the bedrooms every time someone walks down the hall.

Apartment in Monterosso
We enjoyed the apartment for the most part but there are details over looked and the check in was not great. We felt like we were handed the keys and left to figure everything out. She was nice to bring back beach towels and show us where the iron was though.

Misleading Ad
If you are envisioning an apartment with a view of the sea, this is not the apartment for you. There is no view. The photograph of the entry way is actually of the apartment next door. The apartment is clean with spacious bedrooms. There is no gathering area except the kitchen table. The location has only one flight of stairs and is right in the middle of town.

Great location
Superb location, in the middle of restaurants and short walk from train station. Two bathrooms in this area is a treat! Very comfortable and quite modern bathrooms. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Also a bonus was a long term public car parking available.

Was 👍
Was in a good location and a nice coffee shop across the street. Was noisy on the street early in the morning and was mosquitoes inside the one room that were bad at nite that left welts on my wife

We had a great time. In the heart of the small town among bars, restaurants and shopping.
Very small living area, but we made it work. We played cards with six of us and had breakfast in. The front bedroom is a 10. The other larger bedroom as very nice. The small bedroom is best for kids. Great air conditioning in every bedroom. Very comfortable. Little
Noises from the street, but thats the location. Sound machine or ear plugs if a little noise bothers you. Would stay there again.

Great location
We really loved staying in Monterosso and this apartment was in the perfect spot. The AC worked great and we had separate rooms for our two sons. The only two things that I thought worth noting. There isn’t a family/living room. So we didn’t really have a place to congregate as a family. The other thing is that the master bath shower is pretty tiny. Even with these two things we would stay there again.

Location is perfect!
Everything we looked for in an Italian flat. We woke up to the smell of a bakery and coffee across the street. Loved our stay. Restaurants were very convenient. Monterosso is definitely the perfect village for your stay. The locals are so very nice!

Spacious rooms
Monterroso is a beautiful place and Giovanna was very nice when she met us. She explained everything about the apartment.
The apartment has three spacious rooms but the kitchen is tiny with a tiny table we had trouble fitting ( 2 adults and two teenagers) There is NO living room or common area, just three bedrooms, two bathrooms and the tiny kitchen with a small table with 4 chairs.
Something that bothered me is the fact that the apt has no view of anything. Silly me, when I looked at the pictures in the listing there a beautiful picture of the ocean. That’s not the case with the apt.
If you are a light sleeper THIS IS NOT the place for you. There are several restaurants right outside and you hear everything until about past midnight. And they start at about 7:00 am.
I read about the noise in previous reviews, but I thought it wouldn’t not be that bad. Well, it was bad.
Overall, if you don’t mind the noise and love the proximity of everything this is the place for you.

Great location and rental but not for light sleepers
Great rental and central location! Right in the heart of Monterosso. Great and easy check in and check outJust be prepared for a lot of night noise. Both nights karaoke and loud yelling until 2am where I was following along with some very interesting conversations like they were in our room.

Great location. Comfortable apartment.
The apartment is in a great location in Monterosso as described. I loved to be in the mid of all actions and activities. The apartment has everything you need inside and outside. The cafe and pastry shop across the alley is highly recommended. The restaurant right below the windows of the two bedrooms in the back also great . Everything around the apartment is good and reasonably priced. Giovanna is such a friendly person which makes her a great host. The fact that she’s always in town makes it so much easier when we have a question. She’s super responsive and helpful by phone and text. Overall, it’s one of the best experiences I’ve had during this trip staying at 5 different VRBO and Airbnb properties. We love Giovanna. If we had a little more time, I would have loved to have a drink with her and chat some more. Ciao Bella, Giovanna !

Clean, beautiful apartment
The apartment was in a perfect location. The beds were very comfortable, and with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it was plenty of space for our family of 5.

Lovely Accommodations in Monterosso
Giovanna was an excellent hostess. The old town location was perfect for our needs. Being Americans, we like ice and there was no ice cube tray in the freezer. When I told Giovanna this, she went out and purchased one. It was waiting for us upon our return the first night. That is customer service and greatly appreciated.
A couple things about the place. The rooms are spacious. It is conveniently located near bakeries and delicious restaurants which mean that it does have evening noise. I wear ear plugs in these conditions so the noise did not affect my sleep. My husband does not wear them and was still able to sleep through the street noise. But if you cannot, you should realize that people do stay up later in the evening in Italy and you may be disturbed.
It was cooler when we visited in May. There were plenty of blankets to keep us warm. The kitchen met our needs but we did not cook (except to make coffee and tea in the morning). I mean why cook when you have so many delicious restaurants to try? There is a great winery in this town that you should visit if you are into wine. There is so much to do and see in Monterosso if you are active and wish to walk up to the convent and to the places that have beautiful views of the sea or the terraced landscape. Plus you can explore the other villages too! You should note that the picture on the advertisement for this place is not taken from this apartment. That is a view of beautiful Monterosso, but do not expect it to be from a window in this apartment or you will be disappointed.
The other thing about this apartment is that the kitchen is very, very small. We did sit four people around the table and played cards, but it really does not provide an area (like a living area) for resting. In reality, this was not an issue for our group because we were outside exploring most of the time and only gathered together as a group in the morning and evening for a little bit. I did like this second story apartment and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't expect a view or a huge area to relax. The kitchen table is right next to the 2nd bathroom (which is not ensuite) and so it does lack some privacy. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again because of the location. It was perfect for us. Ciao!

LOVED Giovanna’s Apartment!
Everything about this apartment was great. The only recommendation I could even give Giovanna is to offer a 2nd key to the main front door. It was fabulous....thank you Giovanna!

Excellent stay in Monterosso
We had a great stay at Giovanna's apartment. The check in/out process was very easy and the apartment is in a great location, only a 10 minute walk from the train station. The apartment had everything we needed and accommodated our family of 4 easily. It was nice that our boys each had their own room. The location is great but is close to the street so there is some noise at night, but I feel that would be all locations in the main area. Overall, a great stay at a great place. I would highly recommend this apartment.

Charming apartment in the heart of Monterosso
Our party of 5 enjoyed our stay at Giovanna’s apartment for a 2 night stay. The apartment was sparkling clean, comfortable and we were right in the middle of the town. We could have stayed on longer. Thanks Giovanna for a great stay.

Giovanna's apartment was the perfect location, and larger than it seemed in the photos. There were 2 couples and we had plenty of privacy and each had our own bathroom/shower. The fridge didn't really work, but the freezer did. We werent staying that long, so we didn't bother contacting her to get it fixed. The location is easily walkable (about 10-15min) to the train station, but in an adorable part of town.
The two complaints we had was that the wi-fi was not free, nor could you access it in the apartment. You had to go across the walkway to an internet shop and pay for it.
The other complaint was that since the house is right on the street, the trash and recycle trucks came through very early in the morning (5-7am) and the breaking glass was very loud. If you plan on being up at the crack of dawn, its no issue but just something to note if you like to sleep in a bit!
Overall, the house was nice, the AC worked well in the bedrooms, and the location was charming and cute, and Giovanna was kind and responsive throughout the whole process.
Thank you for adding to our trip, we LOVED Cinque Terre!!

Spent 3 nights here with our 3 older teenage kids. Plenty of room in a great location right in the old town. Apartment was very clean, great showers, very convenient to stores and restaurants. A short walk to go beach and rest of town and hiking trail. Giovanna was waiting to meet us and made everything very easy for us. This was a lovely place to stay and I would definitely go back! Many thanks!

The apartment was very conveniently located - near a delicious bakery, gelateria, many restaurants and very close to the beaches in Monterosso. We had an easy time walking everywhere. The apartment had a nice layout for four people - it worked perfectly for us. Giovanna was very easy to work with. Thank you!

Super cute place, right in the middle of town. The Air Conditioning was a welcome break from the heat! Clean, comfortable, quiet... with LOTS of room for everyone. This place is a gem and the pictures don't do it justice.
