About this apartment rental

Apartment 'Church Hill' is situated at the foot of the Mönchsberg, only a few minutes from the banks of the River Salzach. It offers picture book views towards the Old Town with dome, palace and fortress. It is a second floor apartment in a renovated 16th century townhouse (with lift) in one of the oldest parts of the city. Next to it is the old Parish Church of Muelln and the Augustiner monastery turned brewery with its unique historical beer hall and the best beergarden in town.

1130 sq ft. Apartment 'Church Hill' has two very large bedrooms with comfortable boxspring beds, a fully equipped built-in kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, oven with ceran field, microwave, Nespresso machine, toaster etc. and a 320 sq ft living/dining room with satellite tv, hifi stereo, WiFi, remote control lighting and seating for four. The bathroom offers a tub with shower as well as a bidet and there is a separate WC.

The apartment has a triple aspect with eleven (!) windows and is therefore not only spacious, but also very light and bright.

Restaurants and shopping facilities are just around the corner and so is the bus stop and the next train station so that you do not need a car to explore Salzburg and its vicinity. For those who come by car there is a large (and safe) car park behind the Augustiner brewery just 3 minutes away.

Lovely apartment, beautifully furnished. Check in was a little cumbersome. We had to contact the receptionist to arrange when to meet us there and then she was sick so we had another lady to contact and I don't think she got our email but it worked out in the end.

Very spacious apartment about a half mile from old town. Easy check in process. Restaurants nearby. It is on a very busy street with no on site parking. We parked in a lot 2-3 blocks away, which worked out fine.

This is simply a beautiful apartment in a pretty neighborhood within walking distance to old town Salzburg, bus stops, the river and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large with lots of natural light. There were amazing views from the windows. The check in process was great. We got several good pointers from the check in person with regards to sights and local restaurants. I would most definitely stay in this lovely apartment again when visiting Salzburg.

Everything was flawless from the check in process to check out. The hosts were very communicative and helpful. The apartment is very beautiful, clean, and fully equipped with more than enough room for my family of 3 that stayed for 3 nights. The location was excellent in a nice quiet neighborhood, with old town/tourist area only a short 10 min walk away. Everything about the apartment was great!

My husband and I loved this apartment. It was really spacious and was on a quite street across the river from city center which was a short walk away. There is no parking on site but there is a beer garden across the street where you can park your car and if you buy beer from them they'll validate your parking for 20 hours. We went there for all 3 days of our stay and it's super fun place. Mainly local people and the beer is good and pretty cheap too. The apartment was exactly as described but better! One thing to be aware of is that you have to make an appointment to be let into the apartment. This was a little problem for us because we were driving in and wanted to do some site seeing along the way and felt pretty rushed to get there in time to make our appointment in time. Rebecca was very helpful so you may want to make sure you get her Whats App number as our GPS did not take us to the correct location and she had to come find us to help get us in. Also know that you have to pay a tourism tax when you arrive and Rebecca will fill out paperwork and charge it to your credit card. Once these things were resolved everything worked great and we loved the apartment very much!

We loved our stay at this Apartment! Clean, equipped with all we needed, and very beautiful with lovely views and an ideal location. Augustiner Brewery was just across the street and a few steps up the hill, and ATM, food and groceries and public transport all close by. If you are coming from the main train station it’s an easy two minute ride on the S Bahn to the Mülln-Altstadt stop and a three minute walk up a gentle slope to the apartment. Perfect location to walk to historic center (10-20 min) and across the river to Mirabell Palace (10 min). Walk up to the church across the street at night to access the walking paths and spectacular views! For those worried about lack of AC, don’t fret! Even on the hot days we were there, cool cross breezes and fans kept us comfortable. Highly recommend.

I was very happy with my stay at the apartment and look forward to coming back. The apartment is within walking distance of the attractions in the old town area, as well as the palace on the other side of the river. The apartment is spacious and has good daylight. The kitchen is well equipped. There are two bedrooms and one large bathroom, which has a washbasin and tub with shower. The toilet is in a separate room, next to the bathroom. The owners were easy to work with. I requested an in-person check-in, which was provided by their representative. (I prefer renting from owners than from a company, because it's more personable.) The apartment has some antique furniture, so it's more suited for adults or families with older children.

This flat will spoil you for all other flats that you might have opportunity to rent anywhere in Europe. We use short term rentals versus hotels exclusively whilst traveling in Europe and we can without equivocation say that this was the best place we have ever stayed in. From the communications with the property owner, to the emails with the receptionist, to our greeting at the flat were all super. We almost didn't want to leave. Location was GREAT.....If you are into beer - it is located just a short walk to a fabulous Beer Hall which is a must go. We would return here in a heartbeat if ever in Salzburg again.

This place is amazing- LOVE the location- so close to walk to everything. But best of all, was how accommodating the owner was. We ended up being delayed for check in but they were able to work with us and made special arrangements for us. We greatly appreciated their awesome communication and flexibility. We had a perfect stay at this apartment; everything was exactly as expected, and the communication was flawless. The location was perfect for our short 3 day visit to Salzburg and walking distance to all the sights and landmarks we wanted to see. The neighborhood was friendly, and we felt extremely safe. Loved all the recommendations from the host, including the Barenwurst restaurant down the street and the bakery for fresh morning croissants located just around the corner. We also visited the Edelweiss cooking school, which was just a few minutes' walk away and was a wonderful local experience. Thank you!

This property never failed to impress us - 4 cyclists just off a boat/bike Danube tour. Whether it was the bright rooms, city view, impeccable furnishings, thoughtful additions, comfy thick sheets - this was a 5-star stay all the way. This VRBO is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance to the old city. The unit was very clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with dishes, etc. The only concern we had was finding the unit when we got to Salzburg. It’s in the middle of a block and there’s no parking out front. We had the number of the receptionist who was meeting us and she came outside so we could identify the correct building

Our party of two couples enjoyed our 3 night stay in the Church Hill apartment. The apartment is tastefully decorated, with 2 spacious bedrooms and easy walking distance (or a short bus ride) to the aldstadt, Mirabell palace etc. There is a very good restaurant Berenwirt, practically next door and the famous Augustiner beer garden right across the street. And an amazing bakery Baltram a block away.

We loved the apartment, the layout for ourselves and my sister-in-law, a common sitting and eating area, the kitchen/wash area, etc. The description of the bathrooms was confusing to us as there is one gorgeous main bathroom without a water closet. The toilet is a separate door prior to the bathroom adding convenience for multiple needs concurrently. Having two full bathrooms was our request due to our circumstance; but honestly we were able to schedule ourselves and it worked out great. The only downside for us traveling with a sight- handicapped person was the inability to find a variety of eating places in the immediate area. Overall…it was a lovely experience and we would stay again.

The apartment had everything we needed, was very clean and comfortable. Location was great for getting into the old part of the city very easily as well as to Mirabelle Gardens. Highly recommend. Hostess greeted us immediately upon arrival and explained everything we needed to know. Check out the patisserie/bakery Beltran down the street! It’s amazing!

We highly recommend this apartment. It was very large, bright, elegant and very comfortable. The location is perfect, with stunning views from all windows. We stayed in three excellent “Old World” apartments on this trip to Europe, and what made this apartment our favorite is the quality of everything – from inlaid wood furniture to high-quality facial tissues. It felt like we are staying in somebody’s home, rather than a for-profit apartment. One convenience that was not obvious from the listing but useful for a family of three: The toilet with sink was a room separate from the bathtub/shower room that also has a sink. Shelves in the bathroom is another feature we appreciated. One slight negative of the location is that it was somewhat noisy in the second bedroom (if windows are open) due to street noise. But the main bedroom faces the quiet yard and was not noisy.

We loved our stay in this elegant apartment in a great location with an elevator. Beautiful chandeliers, lots of windows and natural light, king sized beds and so nicely furnished. Just behind us and beyond a setting of trees was the river that we could stroll down to with cafes and restaurants within minutes. Up the street is the famed Augustiner biergartens which we enjoyed several times and the old city center was just a 15-minute stroll away. Absolutely perfect for our weeklong stay and we would definitely stay here again.

This is cleanest, most well-maintained VRBO I have ever stayed in. Immaculate and accommodating. The location is awesome, steps away from the Augustiner Brewery and some great restaurants. It is a brief walk from the Altstadt. The beds are comfortable with hotel-quality linen. The kitchen and bathrooms are well-appointed. When I return to Salzburg, I will look no further.

This apartment was located in a great spot. It was easy to walk most everywhere. The kitchen was well equiped and there was a new clothes washer/dryer unit which we took advantage of. The rooms were comfortable. The check-in process was easy and they communicated with us for that. I would highly recommend this property and would stay there again.

We had a great time at the flat. We especially enjoyed that the crockery and cookware were nicer than the usual IKEA stuff. There were Villeroy and Boch plates. Sharp knives. The pots were more substantial. And the kitchen had little things like parchment paper. This was nice, as we had come to the point in our multi-country journey, where we were a bit tired of eating out, and wanted to make a few simple meals at home. The unit over-all was clean. And the beds were comfortable. Highly recommend!
