Clean, Quiet, Nice

The host was nice and caring, and the room was clean and warm. The location is good with easy access to many restaurants nearby.

Property did not provide the room we booked

The property is located in a quite suburban area. The accommodation was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Communication with the host was difficult. Lots of house rules that were not in the booking information. I believe that the description was misleading. The room we had booked was occupied by another guest. We were advised that we were given an upgrade at no extra cost. The upgrade was a downstairs room with an ensuite and a small kitchen. In our opinion this was not an upgrade. Being downstairs we heard constant movement from upstairs and conversations. Every time someone used the upstairs bathroom we could hear everything that occurred in the bathroom. Also the hot water system was beside our room and we heard it operating frequently. The kitchen area did not have any bench space available for food preparation. Our upstairs room was supposed to have a balcony, soundproof walls, shared bathroom and kitchen. We were never offered access to these upstairs areas. I was also surprised at the cost of doing laundry. The description suggests that there was a washing machine in our room. There was also a cost for laundry services. I thought that I could do my own washing in the machine indicated in the description. I thought that I would only pay a laundry fee if the host did my washing. The cost to use the washer and dryer was CAD$10. We found a local coin operated laundry where we did a full load wash and dry for CAD$5. There was a great pub (Legends) across the road from the coin laundry where we had dinner while doing our washing. We were told if we wanted to wait for the person occupying the room we booked to return and move out the host would then clean the room and we could move in. We didn't want to wait. Check in time is 3pm, we arrived close to 5pm and had been travelling all day.

Super clean and super safe neighborhood.

Kelly is a wonderful and very friendly host. She really cares about every. The entire house is INCREDIBLY CLEAN! We would definitely come back.

Something to be aware of is that you might hear your neighbors every now and then. The walls are not very soundproof.

Every sign posted reminded us that we were making the place less clean. It was a bit uncomfortable. Also, there wasn't air con in the room (although it was advertised as having some) so sleeping in a warm room was difficult

Location

There was no staff. We were yelled at for doing dishes and using the kitchen. There is zero communication that the actual address is 8200 Gilbert Rd, only 2 pillows, 2 blankets. Towels were crusty, there were people the lived there

Best and most thoughtful host I've had in a long while. The place is spotless, everything arranged and assigned to each room. The room was very comfortable and host provided everything from bed linen to Coffee/tea. I would recommend this place all day any day. I love the neighbourhood very much.

Lovely place quiet suburban area, but be prepared to do cleaning in the bathroom

The host was a lovely lady who was extremely fussy about the cleanliness of the property, which was fantastic in these days of covid. She required you to leave your shoes at the front door which was fine but unusual for an accommodation establishment. Short walk to a shopping area but not many restaurants in the area

We have stayed in a lot of hotels and B&B's over the years but have never ever struck a place that requires you to clean the shower drain of any hairs if you washed your hair. I appreciate she keeps the place immaculate, but she is in the business of providing accommodation and cleaning is part of the fee you pay when you stay at a place. We don't have a problem with washing or cleaning cups, plates etc in the communal kitchen that is normal anywhere BUT be required to clean a shower drain is going too far Needless to say we never washed our hair while we were there

I liked that the asian lady stayed up late to open the door for me at 1h30 am. She did not seem to talk English a lot because i asked her if there was breakfast and she ignored me. I left in the morning and she was not there. There is no breakfast, even if it says Bed and Breakfast. Her notes everywhere is too much! Not returning ever.

The owner is a very nice lady. Very friendly considering the language barrier.

You have to remove hair from the drainage after taking a shower. She is very strict about that. Also you cannot wear sleepers inside the house after you remove your shoes in the doorstep.

Good location and very clean, but there were some drawbacks

Good quiet suburban location, very clean room. good facilities in the shared kitchen. the owner seemed nice and keeps the house spotless

Unfortunately, although nobody was being particularly noisy, you could hear people downstairs and in other rooms to the point it did affect our sleep a little, so probably not great for light sleepers. Also, there was a man sleeping on a sofa in the shared kitchen/lounge area during the early evening which was a bit strange and made it feel uncomfortable to use that space.
