Mel Haven Motel

There are many places nearby to have breakfast or coffee. There is a few that you can walk to near by. There is a city bus that stops near the hotel and a free shuttle bus that is a ten minute walk from the motel. There is a very nice walking/running/biking path accessible across the street. The busses take you through Manitou Springs all the way up to the train station for Pikes Peak and the entrance to The Incline. If your going to do the incline during the summer get there early as the sun is rising. It's beautiful to see on the way up. The Garden of the Gods is a short drive and within walking distance of the motel. The motel is owned by a couple and their family. They are wonderful people! The motel is quiet and very reasonably priced. We had two separate bedrooms in two different rooms. They both had windows that opened and you could let in the fresh cool mountain air. Great for sleeping. The rooms also had ac that cooled the room too. We were on the second floor and had a balcony to sit on and we could see the Garden of the Gods near by. There was a bench and a table to sit on the balcony. I was able to work outside on my laptop and enjoy nature. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended and ended up staying four or five days.

Alexander was wonderful, he was attentive, welcoming, and available. Our room was very comfortable and very clean.

The property was more "tired", in need of paint and and carpentry then the pictures let on.

clean, spacious room. Comfortable beds. Good location close to attractions. The best of all was the manager: attentive and very friendly.
