Excellent location and comfortable accommodation.

The location was excellent, within easy reach of all the attractions that we wanted to visit. We visited the local pub a few times which was an easy 5 minutes walk away and ate there on the first evening. The house was ok for a family of 4 adults and an infant but we gathered together on an evening in the barn with 2 others of our family where there was a lot more room. The barn itself was excellent and obviously recently refurbished to an excellent standard. During our stay we managed to park 4 cars on site safely which was really convenient.

Disappointing

Lovely old cottage with lots of character and great garden space

The property needs a good deep clean, lots of dirt and cobwebs in corners on the floor and ceilings. Broken toilet seat, paint peeling from woodwork. We had to buy a kettle as the one in the property was over loaded with limescale, so much so chunks of it were going into drinks. The dishwasher made things dirtier, despite us giving it a good clean, filling the salt and rinse aid, and descaling it 4 times. All the mattresses are in need of replacing. All the windows need some maintenance/repair work. The freezer also needs defrosting It was such a shame as it has so much potential to be an amazing stay. For the price we paid I expected far higher standards of cleanliness and comfort.

Beautiful, serene location in a quiet village with no close neigbors & beautiful grounds to relax. Short walk to village pub, the fox inn.

Booking.com description of property didn’t match the property amenities & even though advertised as 4 bedrooms we got only 3 as we were told we made our booking a couple of weeks before the additional bed/bath were added (in an adjacent barn conversion) The company that manages the property sent me approx 20 email messages about my booking but none of them indicated that property details had changed & the booking.com platform no longer matched what had actually been booked. For 2 1/2 months before arrival, all click thrus to booking.com had the new property details but none of my booking confirmation emails actually contained the bed/bath specifics & so I didn’t know there was a discrepancy until I arrived. Despite attempting to resolve with the property manager upon arrival we were given no satisfactory resolution or offer to make it right (even offered to pay more for the other bed/bath) & had to make alternative arrangements for our stay. Minusus of property (details) Windows in twin bedroom don’t open & are tie wrapped closed. Lack of air circulating fans- there was only 1 mini fan in the whole house & even with windows open it was stifling hot inside. Outdoor Patio furniture is old & rusty & no cushions are provided Unlike any rental across the World, this is the first that didn’t provide starter size basic toiletries like soap or shampoo for bath/shower. Only 1 hairdryer for 3 bedrooms. In the “fully stocked kitchen” No coffee pot, only kettle & 3 coffee bags. 1 tiny piece of foil & no cling wrap & these appeared to be leftovers from previous guests. Upstairs bedroom in attic has a tub that’s impossible to shower in. Ridiculous hand held set up that needs to be fixed as a stand up shower. Bed Pillows are old & very lumpy Carpet looks like cheap indoor/outdoor carpet Very dusty furnishings with previous occupants hairs on them As others have mentioned the flagstone floors are uneven.

Okay, could be great but feels unloved

Brilliant location in a lovely village. Close to Stow, Daylesford, Kingham and many other lovely villages. Downstairs is good, kitchen well appointed, number of bathrooms/toilets also great.

Not well maintained or cleaned. Garden not mown, ok for dog to use but not nice to look at or to sit out in. Would also be no good for playing football or other games if travelled with kids. House quite dusty. Bathroom and kitchen cleaned, but corners dusty, ceilings dusty. Generally a bit rough around the edges.

Enjoyable New Year with friends

Quiet location but close to many attractive villages and towns. Well equipped. There was a decorated Christmas tree which was a nice touch.

The access to the top floor is very steep - but it is a very old property so difficult to resolve this. We only used the ground and first floors.

Perfect cottage in a beautiful little village with plenty of walking in the area.

This property was perfect for our family weekend. Everywhere was lovely and clean with enough space for us. The location could not be better. Walking distance from Stow on the Wold and a fabulous pub a 2 minute walk away (The Fox Inn). Very dog friendly, although mine did get under the fence (mad Cocker Spaniel will escape from anywhere!). We are definitely planning a return visit!

This can not be changed but the boiler used oil and therefore there was a strong smell of oil in the utility room. This was fine as we kept the door shut but I had my car parked outside by the flue, and it has taken a few weeks for the smell of oil to go. Easily resolved, just don't park next to the flue (!!) and it certainly did not take away from our lovely stay here.

very clean, comfortable and spacious with everything we needed. the kitchen was well equipped and the washer and dryer in the utility room were very useful as we had a 6month old. lovely location and the walk into Stow was a bonus. So many lovely places just a short drive away.

Very nice cottage in a great location.

Very cosy cottage in the small village of Broadwell, a half hour walk from Stow-on-the-Wold. A great pub, the Fox, across the village green. The bathrooms have obviously been re-done recently. Great shower. Beds on the first floor are a bit narrow but comfortable. Nice living and well equipped kitchen. Super location.

The collapsed building, ruin of the old forgery?, next to the cottage looks bad but doesn't hamper the use of the cottage.

Perfect Cotswold experience.

Great well equipped facility for four adults and a baby. Plenty of space outside. Located in a beautiful small village but close to all Cotswold attractions. Lovely pub in the village across the green.

Hand shower in upper bedroom did not work due to low water pressure and bath took ages to fill.

Lovely area staying in a comfortable small cottage.

Lovely area for walks and handy for short drives to other places to visit. We didn't see anybody as key was easy to collect from key safe using code and we had No reason to contact anybody as we had no problems. Good easy to control heating for chilly evenings, and property has very well stocked kitchen cupboards with plenty of crockery and glassed etc.

Kitchen extractor over cooker could have been a little cleaner but overall property was clean. Not a fault of the property but be aware that the only pub in walking distance closes at 6pm on Sundays, we wish we had known before we headed there at 5.45pm after a long day walking. Good big lawned garden but be aware there are lots of escape routes for a dog.

Nice older cottage

Had everything needed (washing machine, tumble dryer, kitchen appliances and cooking equipment) but could do with a refresh (e.g. furniture, decor). Only a 5min walk from the local pub and 5 min drive from Stow on the Wold. Overall was ok, but expensive for what it is (and can see prices have gone up further since our stay)

No toiletries provided in bathrooms. Upstairs/loft bedroom doesn’t have a full size bed. Isn’t quite as much parking as expected - for six guests we had three cars and wouldn’t have been able to fit if two of them weren’t small cars. A real fire (not electric) would be a nice addition.
