Can't wait to come back

A well laid out and spacious apartment with a lovely view of the estuary. Well appointed kitchen. Easy and communicative check in and the host was quick to answer any questions. Lovely to walk down to Bokkom Laan for a coffee to start the day and not too far to drive for groceries etc.

There was nothing not to like about Kingfisher by the River but for the fussy be aware... Our stay was warm weather so a fan for the bedroom would have helped. (There is airconditioning in the living room). Be prepared to carry your luggage with a bit of a walk from the car.

The photos are quite old. The place is much bigger and better than the photos portrayed and has a great stoep section to it. Amazing place for more people to stay at, like friends or a family. Very clean. Great bed and bedding. Amazing shower. Full-kitchen. Weber braai was provided. Extremely good value for money. Air conditioner warmed the place up nicely. There was also an electric blanket and oil heater. Very comfortable hard-foam couch in the tv room. I have a shoulder injury and this was the first couch that I could sit on for long. Friendly neighbours.

These hardly detracted from all the positives and are really only nitpicks: The Fire-stick/TV box didn't work with Netflix - you couldn't move around, only select whatever show was currently on screen. --But I wouldn't expect there to even be a TV box, so it was still a bonus. The clock was quite loud, but we took out the battery. The parking feels a bit dodgy, but I guess crime isn't bad in Velddrif.

The pictures provided on Booking.com is exactly what you get. The cleaning lady that handed over the keys was really friendly and let us check in earlier. The airconditioning was an extra point as I have a baby and it can get quite cold.

Awesome equipped kitchen for self catering

The Kitchen! The most complete equipped kitchen out of hundreds of self catering units i've stayed. They even have salt & pepper, steak spices, and tooth picks! All sorts of pots and bowls. Also emergency light available during load shedding.

Not the unit, just a rat sneaked into the room and stayed with us for the 2 nights... First time experienced this... Oh, the area has poor signal. No wifi. So it is a great place to let us drop the phone business and focus on each other. We really had a special time.

Superb

Interior was very well planned and comfortable. Attention to detail and quality if finishes were excellent. Although apartment was quite small, it's worth a night or two. Don't be fooled by exterior of complex which is not great. We are commenting on unit 1 and not unit 17 which is what we booked initially. Outside patio was lovely. Parking directly outside unit 1.

Reception check in non existent and although Booking.com said someone would be on site. Eventually a school boy directed us after a few unanswered calls to owner who was staying in unit 17 unaware of our booking. Although we had confirmation of booking the admin on other side was non existent. Luckily unit 1 was available especially as unit 17 was a traipse up and down stairs far from available parking. No WiFi in this day and age is almost a standard requirement especially at the price of this accommodation. In more remote areas we've had WiFi available.

Parking not behind secured gates "Main Bedroom" is not private. Bathrooms extremely small No Dressing table for the ladies. Most expensive night for our 3-week road trip.
