Funchal Window by Homie

De locatie met prachtig uitzicht was geweldig. Het huis ligt op een heuvel in een leuke woonwijk. Het adres is niet voor elke taxichauffeur even gemakkelijk te vinden, maar hotel Monte Carlo dat 10 meter verderop ligt, kent iedereen. In 10 minuten ben je lopend in het centrum. Hou wél rekening met steile straten. De communicatie met Homie was uitstekend.

De matrassen waren erg hard.

Ubytovanie ma skvelú polohu a vybavenie v kuchyni, co sa týka riadu, hrncov. Taktiež veľké ďakujem za ústretovosť, ze sme mohli opustiť apartmán neskor. Ďakujeme aj za malý darček pri príchode.

Ubytovaniu by sa zišla renovácia nábytku. Je to cele urobene so starším nábytkom, ktore to miesto nerobí utulnym. Škoda, ten domček ma potenciál, ale nie je využitý. Takisto modernejšie kúpeľňa by bola veľkým plus. Nie je tam klimatizácia, ale v novembri sme ju nepotrebovali. Chýbajú tam.kvalotne skrine, zásuvky sa otvárajú veľmi ťažko na komode. Preto tam treba renováciu nábytku a apartmánu.

Localização boa, a uns 5 minutos de carro do centro do Funchal. Tivemos sempre onde estacionar na rua de acesso ao apartamento. A casa está bem equipada e tem uma vista muito bonita. Há também um café ao cimo do rua que vende o essencial de comida, bebidas, etc para quem não quer estar a pegar no carro e ir ao centro.

As persianas são antigas e muito complicadas de fechar. O quarto do andar de cima fica junto à estrada e ouve-se muito barulho durante a noite o que dificulta o descanso a quem tem um sono leve. Devido a ser uma casa de construção antiga também fica muito calor dentro de casa em dias de sol mais forte.

The veranda, the bedrooms and kitchen were clean and functional

There were two couples staying there but we were only given one key for the front door. There were only two chairs on the veranda but it was booked for four of us. There was black mould and a horrible musty smell in the bathroom when we arrived. The shower cubicle was straight from the 1970s and the shower had no power/pressure. The 'dining table' was so small that you could only fit four plates on it without a dish in the middle! On our last day, Monday 17th the immersion stopped working altogether and we reported it at 9am. At 9pm someone came out to fix it but couldn't so they offered us a different apartment. We were eating our dinner and leaving at 4am the next morning so it didn't make any sense to relocate at that time so we declined the offer. Finally, the apartment is situated near the top of a hill so it involved a steep climb to get into town. This wasn't a problem for us as we were all fit and well but elderly or disabled people would definitely struggle with it so it's only fair to warn people so they can make an informed choice. Building noises from the front and rear didn't encourage a holiday sleep in so we had no choice but to have an early start every day 😔
