Canavial Terrace@Heart of Funchal

Overall, we had a pleasant stay and felt that the apartment offered good value for money. The host was very responsive and provided all the necessary information before our arrival. Communication was smooth throughout our stay, and any questions we had were answered quickly. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from the city center. There is also a shopping mall with supermarket only one minute away, as well as free parking within a one-minute walk from the apartment. The apartment has a spacious balcony and a fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed, including pots, pans, plates, glasses, a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, fridge and more.

A few areas shoud be improved. The bathroom had a very strong unpleasant smell, so it wasn't possible to keep the door closed. The apartment is also not soundproof, despite what is mentioned in the listing - we could clearly hear noises from outside during the night. The pillows should definitely be replaced, as they are extremely thin and uncomfortable. There is no proper drying rack for clothes or towels, only a small towel rail in the bathroom, which is enough for bath towels but not for drying clothes. The shower cabin also needs some maintenance, as the door came off its track twice during our stay. Although there is storage space, it is not very practical for longer stays, with only four hangers and a single drawer available. Finally, the overall cleanliness could be improved. We found hair in the shower cabin and dust behind the drawer inside the wardrobe. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay overall, and with a few improvements, this could be an even better place to stay.

Great location, everything in the apartment is quite new and very clean. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped. There is air conditioning in the apartment which could be useful both in summer and winter. The host is responding quickly, provides clear instructions for checking in and answers your questions through WhatsApp. There is a parking place in the underground parking nearby so you don't need to worry about where to park your car. The apartment is located next to a shopping mall with a big supermarket where you can get whatever you need for your stay.

There is an elevator in the building but it will take you to the 3rd floor only and then there is one extra floor where you need to use the stairs. Also. the elevator is shaking terribly when stopping.

Reasonably full kitchen, great location, supermarket in the adjacent block, and an awesome craft beer bar next door.

No towel racks or hooks.

The location is amazing, very central. Supermarket nearby. Very clear instructions to find parking but the whole permit thing as described below was stressful.

The property was quite cold (March) and the AC didn’t heat this up very well. There were also 4 pillows but only 2 pillow cases. Did message about this but didn’t hear back until end of the trip. No hooks to hang towels. Quite noisy but accepted this due to central location (used earplugs and was fine). Sofa is very uncomfortable. Parking permit was in the apartment, which at the time was really stressful trying to find parking near the apartment to get in and get parking permit then find the parking for the car.
