    First impressions were very good. Friendly staff member at the pub bar, who checked me in. Showed me where the room was and the features of the room, including WiFi code, and check out details for the next morning. Offered a cooked breakfast for extra money, but I didn’t need it. The room itself was very clean. Single bed with an en suite, with shower. I needed to switch in the shower’s fuse just outside the bathroom door. Once I realised this, the shower kept nicely hot and with good power. The sliding window was a little hard to close. It was surprisingly quiet considering the pub was open late for the World Cup and England were playing. You could hear the cheers, but not general noise otherwise. I was at the front of the property, and while not on a main road, as a lighter sleeper I was awoken by traffic from about 6am. There was a free car park I used, but it seemed to be an easy walk into the city centre to explore. I would suggest staying parked at the property and go out on foot if you are able. Considering this was about *** cheaper than similar properties and nearly *** cheaper than average for York that weekend, it was very good value for money.

    Friendly staff,nice warm welcome. Basic room with tea and coffee making facilities. Noise from traffic on the nearby road although not too busy late at night. Comfortable bed and clean room.. Would recommend as value for money.

    Room was basic and comfortable, however it was extremely hot with only one opening window, clean but dated. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and very. enjoyable.
