Hotel Moscatello

Moscatello je jedan čist i drag mali hotel koji nudi dosta za cenu noćenja.

This was a great find and close to a transport hub in the city centre, with an eatery hub next door, a supermarket and plenty of left luggage lockers inbetween here and the station. Staff were very friendly and considerate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and I will stay here again on my next visit.

Our experience at this hotel was unfortunately far from pleasant, starting right from check-in. The listing clearly states that reception is open from 8 AM to 10 PM, but in reality, it seems to operate only sporadically. We had contacted the property months in advance regarding our arrival time and were told we could store our bags. Based on the information provided, we arrived around 10:30 AM, expecting to be able to wait in a shaded area or at least leave our luggage from 11 AM as stated. Upon arrival, we rang the bell but no response. I called the hotel through the booking app, and the owner, ***, answered and said someone would be there by 11. While we waited, another couple arrived and rang the number as well—but, no answer. Eventually, a staff member showed up and began shouting at all of us, complaining about the number of calls, saying it was a jubile and she was doing us a favour by letting us in to drop our bags. She continued raising her voice for several minutes, even scolding us for not using the elevator (without any indication of which floor the hotel was on). Despite checking all messages, there was no clear instruction that the hotel was on the third floor. There was another family waiting at reception who had also been calling the hotel, and they were met with similar hostility. While we were grateful that our room was ready earlier than expected, the staff’s behaviour had already left a very negative impression. Though she appeared to try to be more polite afterwards, the damage was done. We reported the situation to the owner, ***, his English is not great but understood the situation and offered complimentary drinks or ice cream, but after that encounter, we just wanted to move on and said no to all. Later, I asked a different staff member for an iron, and he promised to inform housekeeping. The iron never arrived. When I followed up with the owner, he simply said, “We don’t have one.” It's hard to believe a hotel—especially one rated over 4 stars on ***—doesn’t offer such basic amenities. There was no kettle available anywhere either. I used the coffee machine in the corridor, but even that had no milk. The room itself was very dated. The bathroom had visible mould in the corners and hair stuck to the tiles, indicating poor cleaning standards. The toilet flush was unreliable and worked inconsistently throughout our stay. Overall, our experience was frustrating and disappointing. The online rating of 4.1 is extremely misleading and does not reflect the actual standard of service or facilities. Had we known the reality, we would have definitely chosen a different place. This is not somewhere I would recommend or consider staying again.

Wasnt happy with the shower area, not very clean. Location is good . Basically you pay for what you get.
