Binh Minh Sapa Hotel

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. When we first checked in, our room door was left open. Anyone could have entered the room before we arrived. When we raised this with the receptionist, we were simply told, We never opened it. There was no further action or clarification as to who opened the door. The room is under the hotel’s responsibility, and ensuring that guests’ rooms are properly secured before check-in should be a basic responsibility of the hotel. On top of that, there was a used room towel lying on the floor beside the bed when we entered. These already raised serious concerns regarding the cleanliness and security of the room, but we chose to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt. Things became much more serious when we noticed what appeared to be bed bugs and signs that raised serious concerns about a possible infestation in the room. We immediately informed the front desk. Since the hotel was fully booked, we were told that changing rooms was not possible. Instead, the solution offered was to help us catch the bug. That is simply not an adequate response to a potential bed bug issue. The concern is not about catching one bug. The concern is whether the room and bedding are safe and properly inspected. We also noticed dust on the comforter and marks/stains around the bedding, which further increased our concerns about the cleanliness and condition of the room. We have personally experienced bed bugs before, so we understand how serious the problem can become, particularly when travelling. Our biggest concern was unknowingly bringing them back to our home country through our luggage and belongings. We asked to change rooms immediately but were told that the hotel was fully booked. As it was already late at night, we had very limited alternatives and could not reasonably find another hotel immediately. We therefore had no choice but to stay for one night and left the hotel as soon as we could the following morning. The night staff tried her best to attend to our concerns and we were offered to stay in the hotel for the night with the fee wavied. However, this does not change or erase the issues we experienced during our stay. Unfortunately, the morning staff’s attitude made the experience even more unpleasant. The assistance, attitude and friendliness stopped the moment we decided to no longer stay in the hotel. There were no further assistance into looking for other hotels, transports etc. Furthermore, when we were checking out, it was raining heavily and we asked if we could borrow an umbrella. We were told that we could not take one out, despite the fact that the hotel had lent us an umbrella when we checked in the previous day. The inconsistency was disappointing, especially considering the circumstances. There was also significant noise in the lobby during checkout, with several people speaking and shouting loudly. Despite this, the staff did not appear to make any effort to ask them to lower their voices. This was extremely disruptive in the morning. We are not writing this review because we expect a perfect hotel. We are writing it because basic cleanliness, proper room inspection, room security and guest safety should be non-negotiable. If you are considering staying here, please think carefully about these issues. We personally would not stay here again. We strongly recommend that anyone who does stay here thoroughly checks their room and bedding immediately upon arrival.

Great location. All staff very helpful. Laundryservice excellent. Very nice room. We had one by laundry. A little noisey but not too bad.

Good location friendly staff

We stayed for three nights and ended up extending our trip because we loved it so much. The room was spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and always helpful.
