The location is wonderful and a very nice resort, well kept up and maintaining that Hawaii ambience and culture. Condo was very comfortable, especially bed and well stocked kitchen for enjoying meals on the balcony/lanai. My only complaint was that I was not informed of the extra cost of air-conditioning (ie not included). Personally I don't like air-conditioning and it really is unnecessary down by the ocean with ocean breezes. I tried contact management but they were unresponsive on this point. I did not use the air-conditioning yet paid quite a bit of extra money which as I said was not noted in the advertisement. Check out all the extra costs before booking.

The actual grounds are very well maintained. The pool was one of the best we experienced in Kona. The condo is nice and roomy but dated. It is of wood construction, so can be noisy if they are guests on the floor above your unit. The bed was very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced.

We finally found the perfect Kona location. We have been to the Big Island several times and have always been frustrated with our accommodations. This time it was perfect. The unit was spacious and had an awesome view of the ocean. It was also quiet with no street noise. We had a great time.

Beautiful views of ocean and the pool from the lenai! Condo is clean and well-stocked with towels, sheets, dishes. There is snorkel gear, boogie boards, and sand chairs in the lanai closet. The condo complex is well-maintained. My friend and I had a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful holiday, breathtaking views from our second story balcony. The condo was well stocked, comfortable, in a good location, and had several swimming pools - we only used the Ocean pool. We would definitely stay here again.

We had such a great 10 day vacation at this condo! From the beautifully landscaped and well maintained grounds, to the relaxing pools and even tennis and pickleball courts! Our balcony provided us the best views of the sunset every night. The condo is well equipped with everything you need including beach supplies. I would highly recommend this location and would love to be able to come back and stay here again.

We liked the location, still in Kona but not in the real touristy part. Pool and hot tub right near room. The ocean view was a nice perk. I wouldn't say you could really access the ocean from the complex but there is a short walk to a nice cove. And great snorkeling and surfing beaches in a short drive. Hosts were very responsive and friendly. We would stay again. AC was nice too on evenings lacking wind.

This is such an awesome place to stay. We stayed there for 3 weeks and it was fabulous. The room itself was great and very comfortable. The view is a million dollar view. Every morning. We were able to sit outside and have breakfast with a great view of the ocean. Also we were able to sit by the ocean and watch the sunset every night. Karen is such a great hostess. Renting was a breeze and everything was perfect. We will definitely be back. We have been to the big island many times and this was by far the best condo we have ever stayed in. ❤️

The condo is well furnished and very well maintained. The view of the ocean from the unit’s lanai is striking. There is a gentle ocean cross breeze often blowing through the unit. All of the units appliances, kitchen ware and consumer electronics are state of the art and up to date. I just completed my fifth stay at the condo and with each succeeding visit, I notice the owner’s focus on continually improving the property. He is gracious and genuinely concerned with his guests enjoying their visit. The only issue that might be a concern for some with mobility issues is that it is a second floor unit with no elevator, just stairs so a wheelchair or crutches could be a problem. Otherwise, it is a perfect spot!

Stayed here for 5 nights while we explored the Kona coast of the big island. Loved the resort and all its amenities. This unit had gorgeous sunset oceanfront views, which was our favorite part of this unit. The unit had everything we needed, although could really use a face lift. The property owner was quick to respond to any messages, and was accessible by text or phone. The property and neighborhood were very safe, gated with security on site 24/7. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for being a great host while we explored the Kona area!

My husband and I spent an enjoyable 4 nights in this ground floor condo. The condo faced the ocean front pool and had a front row seat to beautiful sunsets. The interior was spotless and we enjoyed having an icemaker which is on the top of my husband's vacation wish list. The kitchen lacked some basic cooking items, such as a pizza pan which most people tend to buy at least once when away from home. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable but faced the parking and access road which if the condos are busy could be a problem for light sleepers. We spent the majority of our time relaxing on the lanai. The condo is perfect for a couple who want to be close to all the amenities this resort has to offer.

Issues: Carpet is outdoor style - understandable for a beach area - but it’s dusty/dirty Carpet on the stairs is loose and a real trip & fall hazard Holes in screens Second lanai screen is off its track & not useable Missing vertical blinds slats Backed up disposal drain Running toilets W/D broken Missing lightbulbs Bath fans are loud & dirty. One shower faucet is like being under a fire hose. Comfy LR furniture Plenty of clean linens Bed is pretty comfy Fans are good TVs are small & a bit confusing to get going but cable & streaming selections are decent. Useable kitchen, pretty well stocked except for storage containers - there a none. Great view but right by the pool if that sort of noise bothers you. This condo is just old. Outdated, as some others have stated, is a HUGE understatement. It’s worn out & has multiple issues.

We loved being able to watch the sunset from the balcony every evening! The condo is conveniently located in Kona without being in the middle of the extremely touristy area. The pools and grounds are well maintained. The condo itself could use some updating, but everything was in working order and "as advertised" for our visit. We would recommend it for those wanting to visit Kona.

My recent stay was fourth visit to this condo which should say it all. Great view and great location overlooking the Oceanside swimming pool. Very well furnished with an emphasis on fine tropical woods. The kitchen is well equipped and well stocked with condiments. Only qualification is that it is a second floor unit with no elevator so someone with mobility issues might have trouble navigating the stairs.

My wife and I stayed at Kanaloa in condo 2503 for 2 weeks during October, 2019. This is our 5th visit to Kanaloa and we've stayed in as many different units all around the complex. We chose 2503 primarily because of its location near the pool and its view of the ocean, all while being offered at a competitive rate. We were not disappointed! Our favorite time and activity each day was having breakfast on the lanai while listening to the birds awake and watching the dolphins swim by. We were a bit too early for whales but this would be a great place to see them in season! So why did I rate it a 4 out of 5? 5 implies perfection, and while much of our stay was perfect, especially the location of condo 2503, it is a bit too worn to be a 5. That said, it is comfortable, well appointed in all rooms, everything worked to our satisfaction, and we'd stay there again with no hesitation. Parking iss close by with easy access and you barely had to think about going to the pool and you were there. The grounds are well kept and we love just walking around Kanaloa to see the flora, fauna, and gorgeous views. I could go on and on about how much we love staying at Kanaloa and the Big Island in general but that's for you to discover for yourselves!

Overall, we were super pleased with our stay in Condo 2503 at Kanaloa at Kona. The property's location is great; close to Kona, but away from the hustle and bustle of Alii Drive, even though one is minutes away from that road. The grounds themselves are really well kept, and with the possibility of three pools, hot tubs, and tennis courts, there was much to do in the evenings once it got dark. We spent many pleasant nights on the lanai, looking out over the ocean and listening to the surf crashing onto the rocks. The unit itself is spacious and came with everything that we needed, including a lovely welcome gift basket that included locally sourced organic products!

The condo was beautifully appointed and very spacious. Kitchen was well supplied for every need. Wonderful view of the ocean. Local fruit company left a lovely welcome basket which was a huge blessing! Never had that before. Plus owner left a foldable cooler bag so appreciated and very useful. Very close to small shopping center with eateries and grocery store. DOWNSIDES- No real swimming beach was a downer and no walking paths and carrying all 6 pieces of luggage was very difficult on 2nd floor in heat! Never again! But if you are young and no luggage it s a very gorgeous condo.

My wife I and come to the Big Island every year for about the last ten years. The first couple of years we stayed at other places and in our exploring we found Kanaloa Condos. We stayed at another unit before we found Al’s place. That was probably 6 or 7 years ago. During our first stay the air -con did not work in the bedroom and we contacted Al and we can came up with a solution that worked for of us, and I must say Al was very wanting to make things right. Which was great. Because of this experience and also the ocean view, well equiped and comfortable unit we are yearly regulars at Al’s place. When we get there it is always like coming home.

We had a restful visit and found the condo met all our expectations. All equipment (fans, AC, etc.) functioned as expected and the place was clean and in order when we arrived. We did have some early on issues with the TV system but managed to get it resolved. Also, one morning we both went out on the ocean-side deck and shut the slider which self-locked! This was early (6:30) so waited about 1/2 hour for a maintenance man to appear and get us back into the condo. You may wish to warn people to not completely close the slider when on the deck in case it locks preventing reentry.

We stayed in 2503 for a week and it was fabulous! There was a gift basket with local fruit, jam, and coffee upon arrive, which was so nice considering we arrived around 9:30 p.m. Definitely a nice touch! The condo was stocked with everything we needed including beach toys, towels, paper products, etc... We ate most meals on the lanai, and the kitchen was well stocked too. The grills located on the property were perfect for cooking. The lanai overlooked the pool and ocean, allowing us to listen to the waves crash. We've been to the Big Island a few times and the location of this condo was perfect, close to Kona but not in the middle of the bad traffic. The only semi-negative thing about the condo was that it is a bit dated, although very well maintained and clean. We appreciated our time in 2503 and hope to return soon!

Condo #2503, at Kanaloa at Kona, is a great property with a great view. However, the property needs some updating and care. There were numerous little things that would have made our stay more enjoyable had they been cleaned, fixed or replaced. Examples: Kitchen faucet difficult to move and leaks around the base. Lighting is poor, with outdated or burned out CFL's. The carpet is loose on stairs. Long vertical blinds have missing or broken blades. The sliding door tracks were so dirty we had to clean to open/close them. Stereo and 1 of 2 TV's not working. The knives were poor quality and dull. The property could provide a couple of beach chairs. There were no pens, paper, scissors or surface cleaners available. Again many small issues that could readily be fixed to provide a 5 star experience. We would watch for further reviews before deciding to return to this property.

This was an ideal condo from our perspective - beautifully located overlooking the BBQ area, the “ocean pool”, and the ocean - west facing sunsets. The king sized bed was comfortable and having the two lanais (west facing towards the ocean and east facing off the bedroom) were well appointed, as well as roomy. The two bathrooms were nice to have - one of which has been upgraded, the other not. There were various condiments in the cupboards. The kitchen knives, although numerous could use some professional sharpening, and the cupboards themselves could use some attention (mainly realigning a few doors). The TV could be a bit more modern. However, everything (appliances) worked well. The furniture was in good condition. We found the interior to be on the dark side and a more fastidious cleaning could have been done in the kitchen. All that said, we would definitely go back - a great vacation from our perspective.
