About this apartment rental
Read before booking: The Avila Beach area is undergoing several construction projects, including the construction of a new home at a neighboring lot. Even though SLO County noise ordinance is enforced, from time to time guest may experience construction noise.
Sunsetter is a 2 minute walk to the beach and downtown Avila Beach. The condo is located in one of the best gated community locations - Ocean 17. Entering the home at street level, there is a large jr suite (queen bed, twin/sleeper chair) with fireplace, TV, walk-in closet, and en suite bathroom. Also at street level is the 2 car garage and full size laundry center. Up a flight of stairs is the main living area with fireplace, gourmet kitchen with stainless-steel Viking appliances, breakfast bar and master suite.
From the kitchen is panoramic mountain views with balcony. The front balcony has a propane BBQ, and seating for 2. The front balcony is located off the kitchen making it convenient for meal prep and serving. Just off the living room is another balcony with a spiral staircase that leads to a spacious rooftop deck. The rooftop is perfect for lounging or entertaining. The BBQ center has a built-in mini refrigerator, gas BBQ.
Sunsetter is a corner unit in the complex, once the builder's private unit with many extra touches and amenities. A 2 minute walk to the beach, and easy stroll to Avila Beach Golf Course and Bob Jones biking and walking trail.

Everything was excellent. The location is perfect and we could not have asked for a better place to stay in beautiful Avila Beach. The host was quick to respond when we reached out and all of the amenities were in great shape. We were so thankful for the extra beach chairs, frisbees, etc. as well. A perfect stay.

This was our second time staying in Ocean 17. We love the condo and rooftop deck, all balconies, kitchen, bedrooms, baths, thoughtfully appointed. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday this weekend and had everything we need for a birthday dinner. There was a power outage on Sunday, so we were not able to turn on the dishwasher upon check-out. There was 1 broken beach chair out of the 5 (we had brought a few of our own so we were OK), and we accidentally took the frisbee with us but returned it the same day and left it hidden behind a bush by the front door. Thanks, and would love to stay again!

The location of the house is excellent and the views from the top floor are amazing. House was well-stocked for all our needs. But, we found that the control of the lights was not simple. One of the downstairs lights could only be turned off from upstairs. It is a very sophisticated lighting system. It took six days for the lighting issues to be repaired. The owner was involved with this problem, which was very appreciated. Unfortunately, a couple of plumbing issues with the downstairs bathroom never got repaired. The sink drain was very slow, and the tub/shower lever that controls the water temperature of the shower fell off, and the water temperature was very difficult to regulate. The drain stopper in the upstairs bath hand sink did not work and was not repaired. The exhaust fan in the upstairs bath did not work and it also was never repaired. The vanity lights didn't work upon arrival, however, the owner herself replaced the light bulbs at the end of the first week. All of these issues were mentioned on the repair document we completed on the first day of our arrival.
