Perfect escape to the countryside

Great family place to stay in central Wales

Welcome pack with bacon eggs and a bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Bedrooms week a good size. Nice facilities and very quiet well away from main road traffic so very safe for dog to roam around safely. Dog bed a towel also very helpful.

A trip to relax and enjoy with no traffic, noise, and the most fabulous views.

This cosy cottage with panoramic views over the Welsh and English countryside is idyllic . The facilities are more than adequate and the goodies in the fridge as a welcome gift were delicious. The proprietor is friendly and engaging and very willing to please. We loved every aspect of our stay.

The view! It's outstanding; we spent hours in the living room/kitchen or on the balcony watching it change in the sunshine. The place is also very convenient for the Offa's Dyke path. Lovely cat visitor (Bob) & two calm, quiet labradors. Would stay again for sure.

Great place to stay!

Great location, good value for money. Host also left some basics for cooking breakfast, tea and coffee. They also let me charge the car (needed to calculate the cost and pay for that). Nice peaceful and tranquil views from the property.

Its was great, virtually nothing - tiny points downstairs a little small but fine for a couple or small family who are out most of the day. The mattresses could do with replacing.

Outstanding views, really friendly host and an excellent location. Plus there was a welcoming bottle of wine (thank you) and a breakfast waiting in the fridge.

The beds were uncomfortable, as was the sofa in the living room.

Everything was perfect - the time went too quickly - could have stayed longer.

Breakfast essentials were provided and were very useful. Also provided was a bottle of wine - many thanks. A home from home. The hostess was very friendly and helpful especially as we have a Hybrid car which requires charging. The use of a freezer was also very helpful. The WiFi signal was very strong. The location was well placed, very easy to find and the view from the property stunning. The cat and dogs were very friendly and entertaining. Will definitely book again when next in the area.

Excellent, relaxing break

Breakfast was left in the fridge which was a lovely surprise and a thoughtful gesture by the owner. The views were breathtaking and the accommodation met all of our needs. I would recommend this property to friends and family

Superb

As stated in the name; the view was excellent! We were lucky to get some lovely sunshine which definitely made the view extra special. Caroline was a great host, nice and friendly to talk to and the extras upon arrival were a nice touch. We like that it is pet friendly and we were able to take our dog, it was lovely to meet Caroline's dogs, cat and chickens too. It is a good location, very quiet and only a short drive into Welshpool town or Montgomery.

There wasn't much we didn't like! The downstairs space is on the small side but still enough space for what we needed. The blinds in the bedroom were quite light but that's personal preference.

Hi I recently had a booking at the view in Welshpool I would like to raise to few concerns regarding my stay 1) 2 days prior to going the manager had contacted me regarding my dogs and was requesting I send her a further £200 £40 for my dogs and £160 for any damages they may cause this was sent via bank transfer as we did not want to loose the booking so close to Christmas and giving the recent restrictions over the past 18 months me and my daughter work for the NHS and was excited to be getting away for some peace over Christmas so we paid the money otherwise we would of lost the booking and money paid 2) there was no cleaning appliances for us although the lady was complaining we might make a mess with dogs so we had to purchase our own driving 10 miles to the nearest shop and spending over £60 on cleaning products for the property 3) my daughter had taken pictures as there was cobwebs in the rooms and fly’s 4) the property was very deceiving in size from the pictures displayed but we still made the best of the break 5) we had stripped all bedding and folded it neatly on leaving however the lady is now refusing to pay the money back saying the property smelt of cigarettes- my daughter is the only smoker and as I have asthma has always smoked outdoors however the lady is saying it smelt badly of smoke 3 days after our return and only after I had messaged requesting a transfer of my £160 Me and my family are extremely saddened and disappointed with our stay we feel although the cottage and Welshpool was nice the manger has been problematic with us before even arriving and now returning firstly she should not of demanded more payment advising us we will lose all money if we did not pay and not supplying with cleaning equipment I have booked with you many of times for my whole family and pets as you will see on my account I have experienced anything like this I have bank transfer proof and texted from the lady o

Great little get away

The view is a stunning location that is out the way, but still only 10 minutes away from the local town where there's supermarkets and things to do. Caroline is a great host and is always happy to help. Finding bread, eggs, milk and bacon in the fridge when we got there was a life saver after a 7 hour drive. The cottage itself is cosy and the terrace is devine when the weather is nice, luckily for us the weather was stunning all week except for one day. Us two and our Chow Chow loved our stay at The View and will definitely go back for another peaceful break.

Unfortunately, the mattresses are a bit too soft and springy making them uncomfortable for us, but this is just personal preference. Booking.com had totally different dates on my app than the host did causing confusion. This was booking.com fault, not the hosts.

Lovely

The host Caroline was brilliant, very accommodating, appreciated the little extras like eggs, milk, bacon and especially wine!! The view across the countryside incredible, happy to stay and relax at the property all day just to admire it. The accommodation was also perfect for our young lab, safely away from the road with enough space for her safely explore.

Relaxing, energising and disconnected from the usual.

Location of The View is absolutely fantastic. One of the best places I have been to. Quiet and calm for a good recharge. You won't hear any of the annoying noise of the usual town or city. Put your electronic devices away and relax. Absolutely brilliant host. Caroline always made sure we had everything we needed and sharing all the local knowledge as well. She was kind enough to leave us some food in the fridge as we were arriving late in the evening so, we didn't have to worry about breakfast. Ever so thoughtful of her. Thanks Caroline.

Living, kitchen, and dining areas were a little small compared to the more than adequate upstairs area. The bedrooms and balcony were brilliant.

Amazing View

as the title says the View was amazing, the accommodation very clean and comfortable. The welcome pack too was very nice, It was very quiet and Caroline checked everything was ok for us and we met her lovely dogs and the Chickens .

Amazing view, quiet but basic accommodation

It isn't called The View for nothing, the view is truly spectacular. Caroline the host was very welcoming, as were the eggs, milk, bacon, bread and wine, plus the 3 chickens who were waiting to say hello to us when we arrived.

I don't want to appear too critical, but I must point out some things that other visitors may find useful. The property has 2 double beds, but they are very soft and were far too soft for us. (we did try both). I accept this is just my personal opinion. But if you are elderly, overweight, or have back problems ( I tick all 3 boxes) you may find this information helpful. The downstairs kitchen/lounge accommodation is compact and quite basic. Perfect for a couple for a few days. But if your party is larger you may find it a little snug. The sofa is a 2 seater, so a larger party will have to take turns on the 2 pouffes provided or use one of the 4 chairs around the kitchen table. The kitchenette was sufficent for us, but it does not have much worktop space to allow for the preparation of a family meal. There is a recently installed full size oven, but no oven trays or oven dishes. (apart from the grill pan) The hob only has 2 rings. There is a small slimline fridge that, as we only stayed for a few days, did not pose any problems. But if you intend on self catering and staying for more than a few days, you will need to consider using the Host's fridge and freezer as stated in the welcome instructions. Luckily we were visiting friends and either ate out or ate with them. (I can highly recommended The Raj indian restaurant attached to The Cock Inn only a few miles up the road. They do also offer a take away service, for collection only.) I must also add that the property does advertise a dishwasher, but there isn't one. (it may also be in garage but isn't mentioned in the instructions) There isnt actually room for one in the kitchenette, but it would certainly free up some worktop space if there was.

Lovely little place

Oh what a lovely place, lovely views, ideal for that peaceful get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life, loved the welcome pack on arrival.

We booked thinking it was pet friendly but on arrival got told pets weren’t allowed upstairs, only downstairs, it was really hard trying to keep my pup downstairs, it resulted in him actually being upstairs sometimes as was no way of stopping him when our backs were turned as the stairs were open plan. We didn’t get to use the balcony due to this reason. Would of thought twice about booking if we had known before hand. Everything else was perfect tho.

Wonderful break away

The location was wonderful, plenty of walks to do close by, only a short drive to many great attractions, very peaceful and the host was a gem, made us feel very welcome. Can not fault it and we will definitely be staying again.
