Colomendy

Charming old house. Clean and well stocked with homely essentials. Lovely touches like four-poster bed, play-room come second reception room. Host attentive, supplying fans on request. In the centre of village with a scattering of independent shops, cafes, fish n’ chips and pub on doorstep. Great walks from front door, including interesting castle on the hill. Picnic tables at local supermarket and fish n chip shop next door around the corner made up for no garden.

Liked it all. No dis-likes, only suggestions… A second shower in middle bathroom on-suite (shower hose at least); a simple bench outside front to rest, drink coffee and watch world go by (perfect spot under kitchen window). Would definitely pull in the 10’s then!

Location, location, location. Lovely old fashioned house. Plenty of room for everyone. Comfortable and great for celebrating a significant birthday.

Needed a tea towel, bought one from Bunners. Perhaps a welcome package of a pint of milk in the fridge and a small loaf wouldn’t go amiss.

Fabulous period property in great location

We went to Montgomery for a wedding and the Colomendy house was the only option available. The house is large with plenty of space, a spacious kitchen and several rooms with 2.5 bathrooms and even a playing area with toys for kids in the living room. It is spacious and it was exciting for our 4 year old to be in a big house with 3 floors and many rooms to explore.

I tried to call the person responsible many times on the phone and did not answer once. It was possible to communicate through the messages in booking.com but a bit impractical. The warm water was not on and the heating was not on the first night. We wanted to take a shower and there was only cold water. We thought that it was an old house and it needed time to warm up. We were also tired from the trip from stockholm to manchester and manchester driving to Montgomery. When I sent the message that we didn't have warm water to the host, they mentioned that someone needed to fix it and they needed to come to the house. I mentioned that i was upset because we did not have warm water and we needed to get ready for the wedding. The host instead of apologising, told me that it was my fault that i didn't mentioned that we did not have warm water before. Their attitude was very rude. They offered an extra night to stay in the last minute when we already had other travel plans.
