Location is great. The Little Flat, although small has everything you need and more. Extremely well equipped.

The only thing we missed was a freezer but not a huge inconvenience.

Should be called 'The Little Gem'..!!

We liked everything about The Little Flat. Yes, as the name suggests, it is small, but perfectly suitable for a single guest or like us, a couple. We had a 7 day stay here over half term in February 2025. Perfectly central location, and a 10 second walk from the front door of the flat, has you bang in the middle of the now thriving Barnard Castle, just a few metres away from Market Cross. The property has every possible amenity and facility you could ever need for your stay, and the intelligent use of all internal space in this quirky building is entertaining in itself. Very clever. Car parking pass included, for the duration of your stay, allowing you to use The Hole In The Wall car park behind the property, but 2 hours free parking is possible on the cobbled parking area immediately outside the flat. Effectively, if you get your vehicle on to those cobbles after 4pm, you don't need to move it until 11am next day. This is a huge benefit, as 'Barney' is a very busy place nowadays.....!! Mel, the host, is superb, and always at the end of the phone to answer any queries, however small, The goodies left in our 'welcome pack' were most welcome. We would thoroughly recommend this property, and whilst this was our 1st visit here, it is highly unlikely to be our last. Give it a go... You will not be disappointed...!! Well done Mel... 👍

Perfect location in the centre of Barnard Castle. All the equipment you could need for a self-catering getaway. Comfortable bed! Highly recommended. Plenty of nice places to eat within very easy walking distance, and close to the many attractions in the wider area.

Lovely little hideaway.

Great location, tucked away in a very quiet little passageway just off the main street. Super comfy armchairs and footstools in the lounge and the place is warm and cosy. Excellent shower room. Thoughtful touches like a cupboard full of games etc, and a torch hanging from the headboard for those nocturnal trips to the bathroom.

There's nothing to dislike, just a few small things we felt were lacking. There is no cupboard space to store food and no freezer compartment in the fridge (no ice cubes for our nightcap). A roll of kitchen towel is useful too. Less mobile folk should be aware that the stairs to the flat are quite steep and there are a few further stairs up to the bedroom.

Our stay in Barnard Castle was excellent and we were fortunate enough to have lovely sunny weather.

The Little Flat was ideal for our requirements and to have as a great base to explore Barnard Castle and the surrounding areas. We would certainly recommend this property to family and friends and would book again when we next plan to stay in this region.

There wasn't anything that we did not like about The Little Flat. It was in an ideal location and although the parking was in the Long Stay Car Park we personally did not find that to be a problem and on occasion parked adjacent to the the entry door for accessing the flat on the cobbled stone parking available outside.

not easy to find as all we had was a postcode but local pub directed us! parking slight issue as in a public car park - a free parking permit provided however probably due to Easter weekend we couldn’t park there as full.

Excellent flat in the centre of Barnard Castle

This property was perfect for a one-week rental for my husband and I and our little dog. It’s perfectly located just behind the high street but is actually very quiet and comfortable. It has al mod-cons and a very comfortable bed im a quiet bedroom. I could not fault it at all. It had everything you would want for a relaxing, comfortable stay in a great central location in the town centre. I would highly recommend it!

Great location right near the Bowes museum and the castle as well as a big morissons just round the corner. Wonderfully equipped and clean apartment with a perfect amount of space for two people. Host was great and left us food and tea.
