Church Cottage

De locatie is rustig (aan het kerkhof ;-)) en toch in het centrum van Barnard Castle. Verder is het meeste voor een comfortabel verblijf aanwezig. We hebben een paar keer contact gehad met de gastheer; die reageerde steeds onmiddellijk, vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Er is geen eigen terrein bij het huis. Voorbijgangers lopen daarom direct langs de ramen en er is dus ook geen tuin of zitgelegenheid buiten. Verder ontbrak een kapstok - er is ook weinig ruimte bij binnenkomst maar een paar haakjes in de deur zou al beter zijn. De hygiëne van het sanitair was goed, verder hield het niet over: vet aan de buitenkant van de oven bijvoorbeeld en pannen e.d. waren ook niet echt schoon. Dat laatste is iets voor de huurders, maar toch.

There were animal hairs on the bedding in the main bedroom which caused an allergic reaction to one of the guests.

The central location is fantastic. Off the beaten track, literally at the back of the main rd so very few passers by. Car park is over the rd at £1.60 for 24hrs & always plenty of spaces. The house is presented beautifully & has everything you need. The furnishings are lovely & cosy. The log burner was lovely to snuggle up in front of.

There was nothing I didn't like.
