Le Château de Quinéville

The chateau is very impressive, elegant and imposing. At the moment, none of the hotel rooms are in the main chateau building but our room was very comfortable, plenty of space - elegant furniture to match the surroundings, and with a spacious en-suite bathroom. Grounds are beautiful. Location is great for exploring surrounding area. The continental breakfast was excellent. The owner was very friendly, pleasant and helpful, we enjoyed talking to him about the history of the chateau and its surroundings.

We enjoyed our stay - nothing to dislike.

Great place for a retreat, old chateau in beautiful surroundings, no noise from roads, you can hear the birds chirping, and you can see the starry sky at night. Relaxing place! The host is very friendly and helpful, always ensuring we have everything we need. Best recommendation for this place has to be that other guest we met that had been there before and kept returning. And can actually say that we will also gladly return! Nice and good biscuiterie in Quineville and a small D-day museum (there are probably bigger D-day museums, but if you have kids that don't like very long museum visits it can be a suitable place).

I mistook the word chateau for being palace while is means rather castle or manor house. So the standard is not of luxury (like a palace) and it has probably seen its best glory days past, but the standard is completely ok and adequate, absolutely, and looks to be in an ongoing improvement. Still the living rooms in the main building are impressive and you feel immersed into what was a luxury and upper class estate a century ago. Sorry, just a funny story but don't make the same linguistic error/expectation as I did :-)
